Chapter 05

“Leave the killer to me!” I yelled. And ran faster. He stopped and twirls around to face me. Taking in my appearance, I stare at green eyes. Something about those eyes, as it watched me, studied me, Observed me.

Then he ran, I ran after him. There’s no way I was gonna let the small boy escape me. When I was close to the killer I shifted to my wolf form, which could alone be a threat to him seeing how huge I was.

He ran faster, he was heading towards the sona, sona Calvary, it was out of the Novak, no one from the park had ever gone there. It was forbidden for anyone to go in there.

It wasn’t part of moonlight park or the neighboring park around.

Before he could take the next step, I pounced on him, he fell. Hitting his back on the ground, while I was on top of him. My claws were about to dip in but then I stopped, instead I was hurting myself, I was able to see the face since the hood was full over her face when he fell.

It was a girl!

She, not a He!

I stare at her green eyes and she was staring at me as well. I had to scratch my claws over the hand I used to pin her down. She had the bewildered look on her face, using the advantage to head butt me, I gave way, she ran out of my grips. Running, while I had to shift back to my human form, I was naked. Without my cloth, I saw her eyes on me, she looked away immediately, completely embarrassed I caught her staring at my naked self.

Sean came to me, where I was sitting, with my head down. He breathed out since he had been panting.

“Why did you let him go! You had him. You fucking had the bastard!” He was screaming in my face.

“It isn’t a he, it’s a she! A girl.”

“What?” He looked surprised.

“A girl, how could that me, who was she, why did you have to let her go, why didn’t you keep holding her till I get here!”

I couldn’t say either, I had to let her go.

“You’re bleeding,” Creamy said running to my side, he took my hands looking so worried.

I stare down at my hand, I was the one who had hurt myself. I didn’t know I was bleeding. I didn’t look that way.

“You’ve ruined everything. You did this to humiliate me, isn’t it! You did it on purpose!”

“He’s hurt. Will you keep it shut? You’re here bickering him, why don’t you go after her!”

“Creamy,” I called him. Restraining him from saying anything else.

Sean glared at him and walked away from us.

“He’s your next alpha, you should try giving him so respect. He deserves that.”

“I fucking hate him.” He dropped down to his knees. Give me his shirt. I slipped it on.

“Why did you let her go.”

“I did it to annoy him.”

“But you know that could put us at risk. That would be what I would have said if I didn’t know who I was talking to. You didn’t do it on purpose.”

I stood up.

“Let’s go.”

I don’t wanna say anything. I don’t wanna talk about it. The surge of feelings I felt, the heat that flows through me, I couldn’t say anything of that. Not now, not here.

He noticed I was gonna say anything. He didn’t ask anymore.

“So it was a girl after all.”

I nodded.

“Could be between seventeen or eighteen.”

He nods and didn’t say anything else. I needed some space, I needed to think of something. I wanted something alone. So I walked slowly behind the others.

Each time I glanced at my injured hand.

I saw her running into the sona, I ran forward.

“No!” I yelled. She halted and stare at me, her eyes were puffy and red. Seems she had been crying. I didn’t want her to go in there.

When she stopped she was shot by one of the wolves with an arrow. It went to her arm.

“Stop don’t!” I screamed at them.

“Don’t... go in.” She was already gone. She didn’t stare back, not even a glance, I felt weak. She went in, she went into the sona.

I ran, I wanted to go in. Creamy held me back, dragging me from going in further.

“What’s wrong with you?” He yelled.

I was struggling with him.

“Let go of me.”

“I won’t, get back to your senses.” He yelled.

“Retreat!”Sean announced and everyone began going back. I sat down, we lost her. She’s gone. Just gone!

Looking across, I saw an old man, I mind-linked Creamy to go check him. Maybe he was the man taking care of her.

I exhaled. Standing back up, I had to go home. There’s nothing we could do anymore. I had to leave.

Creamy had the old man hurled on his shoulders while we moved out of the forest.

I had let her slip off my hands in the first place, I should have held her maybe she won’t have gone into the sona, we would have gotten her. And perhaps end all this.

If that was the case.
