Chapter 12

DAMON

I glare at her as she awkwardly smiles at me. Why force herself to do stuff she isn't willing to do? It's obvious she's hesitant to stay in a man's house, and most of all, it's her boss's house.

My car keys jangle in my hand as I turn to her with confusion. “You sounded not sure.”

“I… am.” She shrugged.

“Stop playing and just follow me–”

“Look, it's raining hard.”

I'm not blind, woman.

“My car has a roof.” I firmly said.

“B-But–”

“Enough.”

I reached for the towel, which was wrapped around her shoulders, and pulled her out of the house. She doesn't have any choice but to follow me while pouting.

I'm thankful that she accompanied me to the hospital. I'm not sure what happened but I know it's because of stress. I'm having trouble sleeping too, which added to my condition.

We were on our way to my garage when suddenly a thunderstruck lightning passed by in the sky. Then, a loud grumble echoed, causing Thalia to scream at the top of her lungs and drop to the ground.

“F*ck.” I cursed
