CHAPTER TWENTY SIX: Looking For A Solution

As I entered his ward, he tilted his head towards me, and I gave him a light smile. I greeted the other patients that were in the room as I walked to his bed.

"Who are you?" He asked in his tiny voice, barely audible.

"I'm your mom's friend from her workplace," I introduced myself as I moved closer to him and then had a seat by his side on the bed.

At first, he didn't want to open up to me, but later, he finally did, and I wondered where I got the talent to communicate with kids. I learned he was born sick, and three months ago, his heart became worse, so he has been admitted since then. As we talked about his past, Grace rushed in, breathing heavily.

“Kelvin!”

"Mom!" The boy called out in excitement as he turned around on hearing his mother's voice, but the look on his mother's face was one of fear.

I gently stood up from my seat and caressed the boy's cheeks, telling him to get well soon, and then I headed out of his ward, with Grace following me immediately. I didn't use the elevat
