Jaxon's POV

I was born into old money. The Devereaux name was already carved in stone before I even took my first breath. Generations of power, wealth, and influence ran through my veins. I didn't have to chase money—it was already mine. I didn't have to prove myself to anyone—people already knew who I was.

I was the kind of man who got anything I wanted. Money. Respect. Fear. Women. Especially women. Being handsome was just another weapon in my arsenal—a strong jaw, sharp eyes, and a mouth made for temptation or destruction, depending on my mood.

I kept my world controlled. Ordered. My rules were simple. No one crossed me. No one lied to me. And I never, ever touched the same woman twice.

Kelvin was one of the many people on my payroll… if you exclude half the world. He was a good man, but greedy. Always thinking about his cut, always looking for ways to get closer. He'd invited me to dinner more times than I could count. I'd refused every time. I had no interest in his personal life.

But for some reason I couldn't explain—maybe boredom, maybe curiosity—I said yes this time.

I regretted it within the first hour.

We were barely into the meal when his idiot son pulled out his phone and started recording me eating. When I asked him why, the little bastard smiled and said some girls at his school promised to invite him to a party if he could get them "a picture and a private video of Jaxon Devereaux no one else had."

I wanted to snap his neck. But headlines like "Billionaire Heir Murders Entire Family at Dinner Table" don't help business. So I stayed calm.

Kelvin's wife… a woman I had quickly forgotten her name because she wasn't worth my time was proved to be actually worth it. She was the one thing that kept me sane. She knew about business more than Kelvin. I almost wish I had employed her instead of her greedy husband.

Just when I was beginning to enjoy the meal, the idiot son decided to make the night more unbearable for me.

He knocked over the sauce bowl—ruining my shirt. Kelvin's eyes froze and so did I. But thank goodness Kelvin intervened, offering me the guest shower. I agreed, mostly so I wouldn't put his son through a wall.

I followed Kelvin down the hall, my mind already drifting to my exit plan. I just wanted to get clean, get out, and forget I'd ever stepped foot in that house.

Immediately he left to get something, I looked at myself through the mirror, cursing under my breath.

This was the worst decision I have made in years. Just then I heard footsteps and I slowly turned around locking eyes with someone I have been trying to get off my head.

And she was completely naked. The devil must really be working very hard tonight.

For a moment, neither of us spoke. Her eyes went wide, and I saw the realization hit her.

I felt my mouth twist into a cold smile. "Here to seduce me again?" I asked, my voice low.

She shook her head fast. "No—I… I'm sorry," she stammered.

Her spirit wasn't the same as two nights ago. Then, she'd had a spark—fire behind her eyes. Now she looked cracked, like someone had ripped out her foundation.

She wrapped a towel around herself, as if that could erase what I'd just seen, and moved to pass me.

That's when Kelvin's voice came from the hallway.

Before I could react, she shoved me back into the bathroom. Her body pressed against mine—wet skin, soft curves, the heat of her chest pushing into me. The scent of her shampoo mixed with the steam. It hit me harder than I wanted it to.

For a split second, my mind betrayed me—flashes of the way she'd looked on my bed at the hotel, the sound she made when I'd dragged my mouth over her throat.

I didn't like feeling anything. But I felt her. And my rod wasn't actually helping and I had no idea what to do because this was the first time I was fighting back not to lay a girl… the second time.

Who the hell was she? And what was she doing here?

She looked at me like I was the only person who could save her. Her eyes begged me not to speak, not to ruin her in front of her father.

Kelvin stopped at the door. "Everything all right in there?"

I smirked finally seeing the resemblance. Kelvin was her father.

My righteous and workaholic employee's daughter was a whore. I can't wait to see his reaction if he finds out my Friday meeting was with his daughter.

I wanted to expose her to get a reaction from kelvin but I didn't. It wasn't worth the stress. Family dramas are messy and loud, and I had no interest in playing referee in Kelvin's house.

So I played along. "I'll be back shortly," I said, keeping my voice steady.

"You sure?" He asked.

I looked down at his daughter.

"Yeah, I will meet you downstairs."

"Okay," Kelvin said and left.

She let out a shaky breath like she'd been holding it for years.

"Thank you," she whispered.

I stepped out of the shower, water dripping from my hair. I cursed under my breath.

"I'm sorry," she apologized again. "I didn't know you were Jaxon…Devereaux and I swear I didn't mean for what happened…" her words trailed off. "Please don't tell my Dad," she begged, her eyes filled with tears.

One would have been moved by those tears but this wasn't my first rodeo. No one fools me with tears.

I walked to her slowly, letting the weight of my presence fill the space. "My mouth is sealed."

"Thank you," she mumbled.

"But," I blurted out.

She froze.

"We should never meet again," I said, my voice low enough to feel like a blade. "Or I will kill you this time."

Her lips parted, but no sound came out.

I walked past her, leaving the steam and the scent of her behind.

If she knew who I was—what I was—she'd know I wasn't bluffing. I am the kind of man you don't tempt twice.

But who was I kidding? Fate always plays a huge game on people like us. And mine was just starting.

  • HIS BOSS, MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.    When the devil plays a game

Ariana's POVIt had been days since the shower incident, and my father hadn't said a thing. Not a hint, not a sideways comment. That could only mean one thing—Jaxon hadn't told him.Relief should've made me lighter, but it didn't. My father's silence on that one topic didn't stop him from finding new ways to remind me I was a disappointment. He never ran out of lines.Meanwhile, Riley and Jerry were in Hollywood, smiling like they'd just won the lottery. My phone kept buzzing with their updates—her in glittery dresses, him holding her waist in front of red carpets. My mother was furious at Jerry for using me, but she knew as well as I did there was nothing we could do. Jerry was old money. We weren't even new money. Not that his money was what made my stomach twist. It was something else entirely.I had slept with Jaxon Devereaux. A legend. A god.I told myself I'd forget it. Pretend it never happened. But I couldn't and one night, curiosity won. I searched his name online not because

  • HIS BOSS, MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.    When the past walks in.

Ariana's POVI was standing in front of the mirror, brushing out my hair, trying to make myself look like a person who hadn't been falling apart for the last forty-eight hours. I'd been back home since yesterday, but I hadn't seen my dad yet.Not that I was surprised. Work always came first for him.Tonight was supposed to be dinner with my mom. She'd been trying to get me to "reconnect" ever since I came back. I could already hear her moving around in the kitchen, the smell of garlic and onions filling the air.I walked in and sat at the counter. She looked up from the stove."You didn't come back with Riley?" she asked casually.I swallowed hard. My chest tightened. "She had something to do," I said, keeping my eyes on the chopping board."That's unusual. You two are always together."I forced a small laugh. "We're not kids anymore, Mom. We don't have to be joined at the hip."I could feel her eyes on me, but I didn't look up. I couldn't tell her the truth. She had much problem on h

  • HIS BOSS, MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.    The stranger's bed.

Ariana's POVThe first thing I felt was pain—sharp and pounding right behind my eyes. My head was heavy, my mouth dry, my stomach turning like I'd swallowed glass.I groaned and rolled onto my back, the sheets cool against my skin.Skin.That's when I realized I wasn't wearing anything. My eyes snapped open. The room wasn't mine. The ceiling was high, painted white, and the walls were covered in expensive-looking art. A faint smell of cologne and something smoky hung in the air.Flashes from last night hit me like a punch."Fuck," I muttered, crying to stop myself from crying. The fact that they didn't come after me was what made it hurt more. I'd walked out of that club feeling like my chest was hollow. My head had been buzzing from the drinks, from anger, from humiliation. I'd been ready to scream at anyone who crossed my path.I gave everything to Jerry. I was even ready to give him my life. We have been dating since high school. I gave him my time, despite my father's disapproval.

  • HIS BOSS, MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.    The night it burned

ARIANA'S POV. He was already on the bed when I leaned back against the pillows. His eyes moved over me like he was memorizing every inch."You're trembling," he said softly, a smile tugging at his mouth."I'm not," I whispered, though we both knew I was lying. His hand started at my ankle, the warmth of his palm dragging slow circles over my skin. He slid up to my calf, then the inside of my knee, moving as slow as a snail. "You know I can take my time with you all night," he murmured, his thumb brushing the edge of my thigh. "But you'll beg before I'm done.""Not a chance," I said, but my voice was already thinner than I wanted. He bent forward, his lips pressing a soft kiss just above my knee, then another higher up. "I want you to feel every second," he said against my skin. His fingers spread over my hip, holding me still while he kissed a trail that made my whole body tense. His mouth hovered just over the heat of me, close enough that I could feel his breath, but not close enou
