When Noor's parents got married, they shifted from their home town to another town, for some business purposes.

After a year Noor was born and every one was happy, every one congratulated them and sweets, clothes and foods were distributed among the poors.

They lived happily there in their own house, at certain times their family would come to live with them, to spend some time with them.

Those days when Noor was only 1,

Their family did a small engagement and from then it was decided that Noor is going to be the bride of Arman. Everyone was happy.

From the start Noor was told that she is to be married to Arman, it was settled in her mind. And the fact that she never said anything was that she was an obedient child and even if she wanted to say, she knew she couldn't because in her khandaan it was obligatory for elders to fix their children's marriage when they're only kids.

It all started when she was 6 and he was 14, all family gathered in Haider's house, everyone was enjoying, talks and laughter's everywhere.

Arman was sitting on the steps of the vast lawn with Haris,

both were playing with some cards when suddenly a jug full of water fell and water splashed everywhere and some landed on Arman who got drenched a little by the side.

Noor who was playing with Hira and Armeen suddenly remembered that she has to water her favorite plant went and came with a jug full of water and started walking towards the lawn.

While walking her foot slipped and all the water splashed everywhere and some landed on Arman, when she managed to not fall and break her bones got startled when Arman started shouting on her,

'andhi ho gayi ho kya, Nazar nahi aata? Saare mere kapre geele kerdiye pagal na ho to'

(Are you blind? Can't you see? You ruined all my clothes stupid)

Noor when listened to Arman's tone, started weeping because no one talked to her that way before, but when Arman saw that she started crying, he without any reason became more angry and again said,

'ab ro q rahi ho, Maine esa bhi Kiya keh diya Jo itne magar Mach k ansu nikal k ro rahi ho, saare kapre Jo geele kerdiye us ka Kiya?, pehle Pani giraya phir khud ese rone lag gai, hunh'

(Now why are you crying, I didn't even say much that you're crying like an animal. What about the clothes you destroyed by spilling all the water. And then you're crying like a baby)

He made a face. And Noor who could not help but reply, spoke.

'Maine ghalti se giraya tha, or wese bhi itna nahi gira jitna aap mjhe daant rahe hain'.

(I spilled it by mistake. And its not that much spilled like you're describing)

Arman who got more angry as no one spoke back to him like this, grabbed her small arm tightly and said,

' bohat hi badtameez ho, or wese bhi kapre mere geele hue ha-'.

(You're ill mannered. And first of all, my clothes got ruined)

Arman was cut off by Haris who was watching the whole show silently but could not help when Arman grabbed that small kid, so he started pulling him back so that he can leave that little girl,

' Yar choro na bachi hai, jaane do,'

(She's a girl, let it go)

Haris spoke to Arman and then turned to Noor and said

'tum jao yahan se or sab bachon k sath jaa ker khelo'

(You go from here and play with everyone)

Noor who was weeping silently nodded and ran back in the house. Not before mumbling,

'khud honge badtameez'

(You yourself must be ill mannered)

And no one even knew about that encounter or clash more precisely, except Haris.

▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪

From that day onwards Noor kept her distance from that badtameez,

Well she started feeling uncomfortable and also she started despising him when she was told certain things about Arman, his favorite dish, his favorite color, favorite drinks, his dislikes and likes, she started feeling as if she was being bound to him, her parents would tell her about Arman, it looked as if everyone loved him and only him.

No one cared about her feelings,

they took her silence as shyness but she knew what it was, it was in respect for her parents and elders, it was far from shyness.

When someone would tell how obedient, caring, loving, understanding, and selfless he was, she would get disgusted because she knew who he actually was and how it was only a fake facade in front of elders,

and that was something, like,

A fuel to her already burning hatred towards him.

Baray Aye tameezdar.

Fifteen years after Noor was born, they were blessed with a baby boy again, they named him after call for prayer, Azaan.

Everyone was happy beyond horizon, Noor and her parents felt contented.

They celebrated their happiness in their own house. The aqeeqah was grand, their extended family was also invited. Everyone was joyous, but that happiness didn't last long.

It was altogether very peaceful in the whole Haveli, the silence was as pure as the wintry blanket outside. The silence was somewhat comforting, and spoke for itself, it was serene in a way where you could feel at home. The sun was bright and early, up the horizon, sharp raises of golden and orange spreading over the vast light blue sky. Azan ran inside the whole Haveli with the biggest smile on his face, his eyes sparkling and the corner of his eyes crinkling. He was finally ten summers old. His hearty giggles softened the weary walls of Haveli. His laughter vibrant and heartwarming as he trudged around the people in his chaotic way, chasing an all too frightened yet eager Khizer. Khizer padded his way to his parents room as fast as his short legs could move, as he giggled on the way Azan was making sounds of monster on tail. Slamming the door of the room open, both the duo ran inside laughing, but came to a sudden halt in front of a heaving Arman, who had an unknown look on his fa

The Haveli was filled with relatives, and people from all around the town, after all it was a funeral of their beloved Mustafa malick! The people were here to sympathize, they loved him. They respected him most of all. They were mourning over him, he was a wise man after all.Aamina was in complete denial, she didn't shed a tear, as she just sat there on the hard pavement, looking far away, at nothing in particular. Aamina's cousin came to Haveli right after he was called. I never saw him before, but he didn't gave me any good vibes. I consoled Aamina, along with attending to other people. Armeen was sitting with dadi, and some other ladies of the town. Bari ammi was just quietly weeping. Haya and Hira along with Hareem were helping with the arrangements and everything. Ammar looked a lot sullen, stood at the corner with some men. Arman had a solemn look on his face. But I knew he loved his father and he was deeply hurt. I took a plate of for food to him, he didn't had his lu

I couldn't help but let my mind wander over to their bodies lying almost lifeless. I again threw up, and came out of the washroom all washed up. I again felt chills running down my spine. "Done?" I looked up at him, who sat their on the edge of the bed. I nodded slightly. He patted the place next to him, and i silently obeyed. Sitting down right next to him, he pulled me more into him, as he rested his hand on my waist. "I am sorry, Noor." He looked down as he spoke up, his voice velvety. "I forgive you Arman." I said with a small smile. He gave me a wolfish grin. His charmingly hard features more prominent from this close. He looked into my eyes deeply, before placing his lips on my forehead. My heart pounded inside my chest, as I swayed a little at my place, Arman stiffened as he backed away slightly. "How are you feeling now?" I pointed at his damaged organned gash on his back. He passed me a soft smile, before shrugging. "Khud hi dekhlo." He hurriedly took off his sh

I woke up with a jolt, I was sweating profusely, my heart pounding in my chest, it felt as if it will come any moment now. I glanced around the dimly lit room, only the golden ceiling light on, illuminating the dark room, highlighting the shapes and figures. I was back in our room. It was already dark, I looked up at the wall clock, that showed the time after midnight. I was alone in the room, the piercing silence, quietening down, by my loud thumping heart. I stood up, as I looked at myself in the mirror. There I stood in Arman's shirt, and my own pajamas. Tears prickled the back of my eyes, but I held them in. It was way past midnight, and I didn't even know since when I was out. I made my way to the washroom, to wash away the sweat. —I strolled out of the bathroom, with just the bathrobe on, I didn't take my clothes inside. Just as I was about to go inside the closet, my eyes fell on the bedside table. Meri bed ki drawer mai signed hue divorce papers hai. Tum apne sign ke

He looked changed, a lot. There was no doubt, he looked a little more bulky, and muscular, but only in a month's time? He had slight dark circles around his eyes, as if he didn't slept for ages. I was grateful to him to let me come with them. I don't know, if Azan was safe or not, but I wanted to go. I wanted to see him, touch him as soon as possible. Just a little convincing from me, had him all baffled for me. I small smile stretched up on my face. He kissed me, and I don't know why I didn't pull away. But the ecstatic look on his face after the kiss was priceless. The drive was silent, as Arman's eyes focused on the abundant and bumpy road ahead. I was looking out the window, to passing dried trees and the vast deserted area on both the sides of the road. There was not even a single plot of civilization, just bushes, and rocks, and cold winds, as far as I can see. Arman's hand slightly touched my thigh, as he shifted the gear, while I visibly trembled, mak

It was already in the after when I woke up with a slight headache and fever. I changed into a shalwar kameez, and offered Salah before dumping his shirt into the laundry basket into the far deep corner. Making the bed, I left his room, and hopped downstairs in search of painkillers.I entered the kitchen, to see no one, just Hira sitting on the dining table chopping vegetables.I passed her a small smile, as I poured myself a glass of water, and gulping it down. "You know where are painkillers kept?" I asked her searching the cupboards. "Yeah on the top left corner, but why?" I shook my head, as I found them. "Just had a slight headache. Nothing much.""Noor, you just woke up. Eat something before you take those." Hira pointed at the pills in my hand. I nodded. She was right, I can't take the pills empty stomach. "I made some soup for Bari ammi, have that. It will help." She stood up, picking a bowl, and pouring the hot soup right from the pan on the stove, and placed it in f
