"Adorable." Maxim thought.

Although Maxim almost often saw Maxine passing by in front of him while in the University, they came face to face, without the presence of others. Just the two of them, in the midst of a lot of fast-food restaurants. No Mary, Leo, Ivan, nor Sidney were everywhere Maxim went.

In between moments stealing his gaze on Maxine, Leo, and Ivan who have just entered the Restaurant capture clearly how Maxim stared at Maxine.

"Is he trying to cheat?" Leo becomes the first to speak out when he decides to approach the table, where Maxim enjoys his burger.

Leo and Ivan fill the empty bench in front of Maxim. Worried about being misunderstood, Maxim immediately shifted his attention, to his two best friends who were looking at him suspiciously.

"You guys are coming." Maxim immediately gives Leo and Ivan a toss: hands clenching and clashing.

Ivan took the time to turn to the place where Maxine was, looking at her for a moment before finally looking at Maxim with a flat look, but the look in his eyes seemed so probing. Just like Leo did when he was the first to catch it.

"Be careful, Max," Ivan said. "Don't let Mary catch up when you look at her like before."

Leo nodded, then added. "Just let go of Mary, if you like Max more," he said half-seductively.

Maxim chuckled softly. With his eyebrows raised, he asked. "Max? Who?"

"The girl you've been looking at since then, of course," Leo replied swiftly, at a glance he pointed his thumb at the place where Maxine was. "Her name is Maxine. Maxine Kelly. Maxim... Maxine... Looks like you guys are a good fit."

Maxim nodded. Trying to understand what Leo is saying. Maxim almost smiled when he understood Leo’s intentions if Ivan didn't elbow him —telling him that Mary was coming.

Maxim hurriedly greeted her, even though he didn't want to. Maxim even deliberately shifted his seat, letting Mary fill the empty spot on his left side. With Sidney, Mary sat down —urging Maxim to the corner attached to resto's window glass.

Mary looked at the three men before her furiously, as if they had just made a mistake, and she deserved to look at them with a judgmental look.

"Leo?" Mary looked at Leo sarcastically. "Ivan?" now Mary turned her gaze to Ivan, sharply.

It was as if these two had just made a mistake. Then, the girl came back. "Have you forgotten my father's message?" Mary clucks as Leo and Ivan spontaneously hit each other's foreheads.

"There's one of those vampire clans crossing the border," exclaimed Ivan spontaneously.

Leo nodded, then said. "Your uncle was a victim. And now, the three of us are asked to guard the border with some elders."

Without saying anything, Maxim hurriedly made his move —leaving the Restaurant without saying anything. Ivan and Leo followed him after. The interests of the group have always been the most important things to Maxim. However, one day, when it is time, he will be bestowed all responsibility as the highest leader of the group. Like his father.

As the three young men left, no longer visible in any corner, Sidney and Mary shared a face-to-face. Without needing to be a psychic, the two share their thoughts when they see Maxine not far from them.

It didn't take long for Mary and Sidney to get to Maxine. Even in her pretentious style, Mary kicked off the table in front of Maxine. A large glass of lemonade spilled, wetting the sneakers on the left.

Maxine shook her head as she exhaled, before finally getting up from her seat —staring at the two girls who were looking for trouble with her with an optimizing spotlight.

"Couldn't be more polite?"

Only that sentence could slide further than Maxine's tongue. To be honest, she didn't really want to communicate or even deal with the two arrogant girls. But, inevitably she has to do it.

Maxine's sharp highlights do not succeed in making Mary also Sidney daunted. The two girls were moved to see Maxine who was acting so bravely. The laughter disappeared as soon as they arrived. Mary and Sidney again put on a sharp spotlight, as well as voicing cynical sentences on Maxine as a threat.

"Listen. Stop staring, and stop spreading your charms at Max. You don't even deserve to do it, stupid!"

Mary swiftly spilled the mustard sauce on the surface of the sneakers Maxine was wearing at the time. Deliberate. She knew that the thing that covered Maxine's feet was one of her few pairs of shoes. Mary wants to make Maxine feel the same frustration she feels right now.

There's nothing worse than giving the same sensation to him who you consider the enemy.

Instead of showing the same annoyance, Maxine gave the two girls a smile. Looks sincere and warm. Although far out, Maxine was eager to run and scold Mary as well as Sidney. It's just that Maxine doesn't want to show it. She didn't want the two bad girls to feel victorious because they made her furious. As they want.

After putting a few pieces of money on a small tray on the table, Maxine moved on regardless of Mary and Sidney. But just a few steps away, Maxine turned around, returning to the two girls while throwing her warm smile as she had shown before.

"I think I forgot something," Maxine told Mary in a smooth, calm voice.

Maxine snatched a full bottle of ketchup off the table, then spilled all the contents on the back of the white skirt Mary was wearing at the time.

Sidney squeals, while Mary can only gape at Maxine’s shocking treatment. Who would have thought Maxine would have avenged her actions so badly? Spilling a blood-red viscous liquid onto the back of her beloved white skirt? It really sucks.

"Thank me later, girl," Maxine calls for her last sentence before closing the restaurant door before Mary overreacts to what she's doing.

"Oh my goodness, Mary!" cried Sidney hysterically. "It looks like a blood clot."

Mary finally grimaced. After a moment of fixation, she finally reacted. "For heaven’s sake, I will kill her into pieces!"

Mary stomped her two legs wrapped in high heels, leaving the restaurant with all the rage that was growing. Followed by Sidney afterward.

On the way home, Maxine finally freely grumbles about how dirty her favorite shoes are. And complained about how annoying Mary and Sidney's behavior was from day to day. Maxine even voiced a few cursing sentences every time she stomped on the surface of the shoe, trying to get rid of the rest of the mustard sauce stains.

However, she suddenly stopped her steps, when she faintly heard a howl in the distance. Maxine deliberately turned to her right side, to where the sound came from.

Dozens of towering pine trees became one of the many entrance gates to the forest, which is said to be a forbidden place for humans to enter. Also her. Maybe.

Maxine cannot be called a human being. But she also could not be categorized into a werewolf. Because she still can't transform like her brother, nor are another werewolf her age. Most other werewolves refer to her as the daughter of a crummy werewolf.

Once again, Maxine heard two howls. It felt close, as if not far from where she stood at that time. Without hesitation Maxine turned around, rounding her eyes when she found two big wolves opening their mouths wide, like preparing to swallow cut her into pieces.

It was not the time to be afraid, for it was not the first time she had seen the wolf in front of her. She often saw her mother and her brother change. It was just that, the aura emanating from the two werewolves before she looked terrifying. It was like they wanted to hunt her down, eat her alive.

After seeing one of the legs of the two wolves move, Maxine exerted all her running ability, entering the forest on her right side. Maxine ran as fast as she could, avoiding all sorts of attacks from the two wolves trying to attack her back there.

Several times Maxine tripped, almost falling and even crashing into a tree when increasing her speedrunning. Dark. It's too dark. She couldn't see the path in front of her.

"Shit! I hate the dark!" spat Maxine annoyedly.

Back there, the two wolves that were chasing her seemed to communicate through gazes. The dark brown furry wolf looked excited, while the light brown furry wolf looked worried about something.

The bright-haired wolf tried to stop her friend because soon they would arrive at the border. They had previously been warned not to enter the premises, other than the herds who were ordered to guard the area. That's why, when Maxim went with Leo and Ivan, they didn't catch up.

But the dark brown furry wolf ignores her. She is determined to keep chasing Maxine. Unfortunately, for now, she will have to wait.

"Mary! We can't do it now!" said the bright-haired wolf.

Sidney tries to block Mary from entering the border. However, before Sidney exerts all her energy to stop Mary, a vampire darts over, attacking Maxine. Mary and Sidney step aside, letting Maxine become the vampire's meal.

Mary, the dark brown furry wolf took the time to turn her head, reviewing her sly grin before moving on. "You deserve th—"

"No, Mary,"

Maxim's baritone voice manages to make Mary and Sidney goosebumps in fear. Sounds loud, also firm. It's like trying to judge what the two wolf girls are doing. Maxim's green iris has transformed to the original beaded color of an Alpha werewolf, a flaming yellow.

No one know what Maxim was going to do to the two wolves before him, which was clear, he looked very ready to attack.

"SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THAT!"

Maxine frowned for the umpteenth time."I must break your memory barrier," said the pale white woman with a line of smiles adorning her face, as Maxine and Maxim looked up in unison —looking at her.Ivan and Leo shifted. Lisa rejoined the two men, giving Mrs. Park free space."Excuse me?" said Mrs. Park, as she was about to put down her palm, touching one side of Maxine and Maxim's face."Close your eyes. Let all those memories come back to both of you. Don't fight anything you guys feel." Mrs. Park continued.Maxine and Maxim gave the same nod. Agree. The two closed their eyes after getting the order from Mrs. Park. In the early minutes, Maxim and Maxine looked relaxed. "Indeed, what are you feeling?" asked Maxine without turning her head in the slightest. She lowered her head even more."I like you.""Hm?" Maxine nodded slowly."I love you..."Maxine slowly raised her gaze, staring into the alpha's green bead while slowly pressing out a gentle smile. "I know..." softly."Just like that? Your answer?" Maxim raised his eyebrows, looking at Maxine with indecisive feelings and curious.Maxine knew the meaning of the gaze. Soon she approached, then briefly pecked Maxim's full lips with a smile. "Now you're mine," Maxine whispered softly. "You should have known what my statement meant.""Come here." Maxim whispered back.Maxine approached, then pressed her lips against Maxim's. Maxine rubbed her face with a rough sweep. At least She regretted what She had said to Jace Stone. She rubbed her face again as she walked towards the bathroom, looking at the reflection of herself in the sink mirror.Maxine laughed bitterly. "Sorry, Mr. Stone. I can't let go of your son," she repeated her words last night. She laughed again with a soft shake when she remembered the fact that it was this sentence that made Jace Stone order the vampires to tear the clothes she was wearing, even though some of them were ordered to hurt her, and fortunately, none of the vampires managed to hurt her, because every time the wound appeared it would be tight again as soon as it appeared. After performing a series of rituals of self-appeasement; Meditating and imagining the good things that had previously happened to her, Maxine returned to the room, chose a variety of clothes that Maxim bought for her and put on one of them, and then ate a few pieces of sandwiches that Maxim also bought for

"I expected it," the woman hissed quietly, almost in hushed tones, her gray bead staring at Maxine, who was sleeping in Maxim's sling. "It turned out that this kind of thing did happen again."When he heard this, Maxim frowned and turned his head, curiously looking at the woman. "Did it happen again?"The woman turned her head, putting on a clumsy smile to conceal the carelessness she had just displayed. "No way. There is nothing, "she exclaimed, a little excitedly. "Please ignore me. I'm just messing around because I'm too tired to do anything else."Maxim nodded, hesitant to believe the woman's words. "Go home if you're tired, madam," Maxim suggested, his face as tired as the woman who said she was exhausted. "Have your working hours just begun?"The woman shook her head. "I'll go home after dropping you guys off."Maxim nodded. He stepped out of the elevator when it came to a halt and the door to the second floor opened. "We're going to pick this floor, madam," Maxim said as he exi

"Where's Maxine?" Ivan swept his gaze around when he couldn't find the figure of the girl on any side.Maxim and Leo suddenly turned their heads, combing the entire side of the forest around them with each other's eyes. Maxine wasn't there, not even their only herd remaining. The only ones surviving the vampire attacks had disappeared. But not long after, as if giving them an answer, Maxine's screams and the loud howls of their herd in the distance were heard. The three youths rushed to light the fire and rushed to follow the source of the sound after witnessing the corpses of their herd being devoured by the flames. "Is that my father?" Lisa asked Liam curiously.Liam was about to answer, but Daniella's voice made his mouth close again. He didn't know when Daniella stood behind his high back. As soon as he heard his mother's voice, Liam followed Maxim and Maxine out of the way, then made a way for Daniella to approach the eldest daughter of the Stone family."Not your father," said Daniella, smiling a small smile.Lisa nodded. She then looked at Maxine, Maxim, and Liam alternately. "Could you guys come out for a bit?" she asked softly. "I need to speak to Mrs. Kelly. Just the two of us. "The three nodded obediently, quickly leaving the room, and Maxine was the last one in there, quickly closing the door. Leaving Lisa and her mother in the same room, wanting to talk about something.

"It's a family thing, mom," Maxine interceded. It seemed that she knew what happened, even though she felt that she was the cause of what happened to Lisa. "Please just treat her right."Danielle was tight-lipped. She hurried to clean the wound on Lisa's back carefully after Liam came to bring a bowl of warm water and a small towel. Lisa grimaced, she even squeezed Maxim's hand while closing her eyes. While Liam approached Maxine who chose to look at the golden color that dominated the sky from behind the window of her room facing the balcony, deliberately turning her face away from the Stone siblings."Hey?" said Liam for the first time. "I'm sorry."Maxine nodded without turning her head. "Forget it, Liam. It's not a big deal."

"Moon Goddess has stepped in, Stone," said the woman called Mrs. Park in a whisper that was as firm as Jase's. "You can't separate them anymore, even after you've eliminated Dalton Kelly.""Shut your mouth tight if you don't want my packs to destroy this place when you're caught off guard," Jase threatened before he then headed to the table where his son and the wolfless girl were."Maxim Stone," Jase said in a heavy hoarse voice. "Come with me.""Let me take her home, dad."Maxim then got up from where he was sitting, then approached Maxine while stretching out his right hand.
