CHAPTER 31
I straightened out my dress again as I waited nervously behind the large doors. I had spent the last three hours with the maids getting ready for the ball and the outcome was marvelous.
The trumpet sounded and the large doors were thrown open. I took in a deep breath to calm my nerves and pit a smile on my face and entered the ball room.
A loud chorus of 'all hail the queen' was heard before they dropped to their knees. I looked up at Thane seated in all his glory on his throne. I held his eyes as I walked down to him.
I curtsied before him and he stood up and took my hands. He helped me to my throne beside his. The crowd stood up and everybody began to mingle.
"You look breathtaking" I blushed at him.

I dropped the book I was reading back on the table. What Thane had said yesterday refused to leave my mind. I looked at Mama confused. The forest lady was my mother? I turned to her, my eyes questioning but she looked blankly at me. When I woke up the next morning, I felt better. I wanted to go to Bronte's hut but Thane wouldn't let me. The two days had gone in a blur with I and Thane spending time together. Although he still had to work but, it wasn't all the time.We played games to pass time and he thought me how to throw a knife. Things were going well. I was really happy. And in love. I smiled giddily as I put on my dress. After much persuasion Thane had finally let me visit Bronte's hut but I had to go with Noir.He stayed outside while I explored the inside of the hut.
