JARED'S POV

"I'm not."

The word wouldn't stop ringing in my head even as he drove me down to my school.

I couldn't decide if I was disappointed or not, but one thing was certain, I wasn't exactly happy.

When I asked that question, even though a part of me kept telling me Sterly wouldn't enter the kitchen to cook for us, I still had a tiny hope that he had done... that made me silly, I knew.

However, since I met Sterly, my stupidity had elevated to a point of no return.

Probably because I was still hurt?

I couldn't say.

"We are here." Sterly's deep yet attractive voice rang.

I turned my head to him and our eyes met but I quickly looked away. "Okay." I mumbled. "Thank you." I added and pushed the door open.

Getting out of the way, I bent over and flashed a smile. Yes, Sterly was my sponsor, not my lover.

He was nothing but a fake husband whom I would only be with for a few days, months, or even a year at most.

    JAREDAfter getting a few things in the supermarket for Sterly's family, we drove down to their house. Getting there, my anxiety spiked, but Sterly continued holding my hand.
