JARED

I watched as Sterly walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

My gaze lingered on the door a while before a chuckle escaped my lips.

I knew without a doubt that Sterly could no longer remain indifferent as he used to be.

Even if what he had for me at the moment was not yet love, he would begin to think about me more.

Maybe this was wrong and manipulating, but I had made up my mind never to hurt anyone.

I would only do what I could do and see where everything would end.

If Sterly changed his mind, I'd be glad to accompany him for the rest of my life, and if not...

I shook my head. It was too awful to think about.

I traced the bed with my hand and pulled out my phone from under the pillow.

I switched it from flight mode and quickly dialed Stephen's number.

After a whole week of not getting any information about the outside world, I was eager to learn something again. Also... The omegas annual event I was supposed to attend.

Today was the last day of the e

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 102: REQUEST

JAREDMy eyes widened when I saw Sterly, and for some reason, my face paled. Was this also a dream? It felt more like I had lost my mind. What was Sterly doing here, then? Wasn't everything a ploy arranged by Kane to bring me out so he could corner me? Why did Sterly also show up?My heart thumped, but with it came fear.Did Sterly see me with Kane earlier? Would he misunderstand anything?Guilt welled up in my chest as if I'd cheated and was caught red-handed. Even though I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. Without saying a word, I grabbed Sterly's wrist and pulled him away from the empty corridor. It was strange... but I didn't want Sterly to stay a bit longer in a place Kane was. I ran until we were out of the corridor and were in an open space. Looking around, I realized we were already at the entrance of the VIP area, and my eyes widened. "You called me earlier," I said. It was more like a confirmation. Sterly nodded. His eyes stayed on me, and his brows were knitted.

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 101: TRAPPED

JARED I couldn't believe it. Sterly has been busy for a while, and I had never expected that he would come over. My fingers trembled, almost dropping my phone to the ground. "You... are here?" I asked through my loudly beating heart. "Hm. I'm outside." Sterly said. "I will come and find you," I said in a low voice, scared of letting the happiness in my heart show. "I'm at the VIP area in the arena stand." He explained. I nodded incessantly. Even when the call ended, I was still unable to suppress the happiness in my heart. I glanced at Stephen, who was still sleeping, and made up my mind to quickly check up on Sterly. My heart was beating really fast. I stepped out of the room and made my way toward the VIP area where he said he was. Everything still felt like a dream. How could Sterly show up in such a cool way?He greatly surprised me, and this surprise was too good to be true. The excitement made me giddy. Turning a corner, I hastened up, knowing Stephen might be worri

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 100: START

JAREDKane returned with two trays and dropped them before us. Stephen and I quickly began eating without sparing him a glance. When we were done, we pushed the tray aside, stood up, and left the restaurant. Probably because Kane was worried about Stephen fighting him, he didn't stop me anymore and only followed at a distance. This continued for a month, and it was the day of the omega competition. The driver dropped me and Stephen at the entrance of the grand arena. Holding Stephen's hand, we stepped out of the car together. His hand rested on his belly as he tried to force his body to move. "You should have stayed at home," I said, pulling up the mask on his face. Stephen blinked innocently and scratched his neck. "Home is boring. I want to cheer you up." He said excitedly. My lips curled. Excitement bubbled in my chest. It was nice to have someone around...Stephen's stomach had grown into a bump, and he had to wear a baggy top to hide it. But still, the difference was sl

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 99: INTRUSIVE

JAREDKane approached as if he'd been waiting for Stephen to leave for a moment. I vaguely felt like he'd been stalking me all along to find this opportunity. When our gaze met, I looked at him without taking my eyes off. I really didn't have the energy to avoid him at the moment. Kane stood before me and took Stephen's seat. "Jared, can we talk?" He asked with a pleasant smile on his face. My brows knitted in disgust, and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. The smile on his face seemed to trigger the discomfort in my chest, and I suddenly felt the urge to throw up. "What do you want?" I asked coldly. Seemingly noticing my expression, his expression also turned serious, and he shifted forward. "I've divorced the omega my parents forced me to marry." He said, emphasizing the 'forced' in his word. I listened calmly, saying nothing. Kane coughed awkwardly. He rubbed his hands together. "After inheriting the properties, I immediately divorced him and returned to our house to fin

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 98: AVOIDANCE

JAREDSterly didn't return to the room last night, and I also dozed off after crying for a long time. Waking up the next morning, Sterly was nowhere to be found. He wasn't on the balcony, and neither was he in the bathroom. He was gone...Even without asking anyone, I knew Sterly had left home. He probably wanted to avoid me, to prevent awkwardness between us. On deeper thought, I felt like this was right. Staying away from each other was the best thing to do at this point, and it was the only way for me to get better. However, I couldn't suppress the sadness in my heart. I walked out of Sterly's room with this downcast thought in my heart and made my way back to my room. Getting in, I saw Stephen, who was still sleeping in the room, and without saying a word, I slipped into the blanket, rested my head on Stephen's shoulder, and went back to bed. Stephen opened his eyes, glanced at me, and without saying a word, closed his eyes to continue sleeping. He seemed really exhausted.

  • HIS RELUCTANT MATE   CHAPTER 97: LETTING GO

JAREDWaking up alone in bed, I rolled around. My fingers rubbed my sore waist, and a low moan escaped my lips when I thought back to what happened before I... fainted. Yes, I fainted. After seducing Sterly and giving him no chance to stop, I eventually fainted under him without being able to utter a word to stop him. But where was he?I dragged my overused body out of the bed and began searching for my man in the big and dim room. Thank goodness for the connection we just had. His scent was all over me, and his absence didn't seem to affect me as much. But I still wanted to search for him.I walked around the room, and my eyes soon drifted to the balcony. A silhouette appeared before me. The broad back was firm, but... lonely and grieved. As I drew closer, I realized Sterly's scent was heavy, indicating the chaos of his emotions at the moment. My heart ached. Was this my fault?Had I gone too far?Honestly, I could have controlled myself back then and not made him have sex w
