HOW I BECAME A GAY

My Gay Dad.

“Get out of my house and get out of my life. I don't need you anymore. You have ruined my life, you beach". Amelia Choley screamed at the top of her voice as she pushed her husband out of her one room apartment.

“You're the worst thing that has ever happened to me. You came into my life, have nothing to offer and destroyed the little I have. You're a liar, a gay and a devil. Only demons practice gay”. Amelia said, still in anger and shouting at the top of her voice. She has a tiny but loud voice and this time around she screams so loud in frustration.

“You call me a cheat?. Huh. You're a whore and you know what, you're a stupid and dirty whore who stopped so low to sleep with a mere security guard, right in the security house like a dog. Sleeping with a dirty security man on a cold bare dirty floor. Even dogs on the street wouldn't do that. Choley replied.

“Yes I did that. I did it because my fucking man stoop so low to sleep around with a fellow man like himself. You're insane and I can't keep tolerating you. How can you sleep with a man like your self?. What pleasure do you derived by doing that?. What do you enjoy?. Your presence is disgusting and irritating”. She said already in tears.

And as they argued, they heard their fifteen year old second son Anslem who is already dressed for school sobbing quietly under the couch.

It was a raining morning and the drop of the rain on the rooftop has prevented neighbors from hearing the ranting of the two couples as it was in the other times. The one bedroom apartment is one of the old compacted buildings built for low income earners. A government initiative to reduce poverty and Amelia Choley was the bread winner of the family had earlier lost her job as a sales representative and had moved in with her husband but soon got very popular in the neighborhood as her husband all of a sudden began to develop interest for men and love to be penetrated.

Although he works as a cleaner, he only gets a very little pay compared to his wife who does the same cleaning job but received a robust salary package which made her the breadwinner of the family.

“The gay husband." as he was popularly called in the neighborhood. On several occasions he has brought his gay lover's home and had an affair while his two sons will be chased outside but they will still devise means to watch their father perform through the window or any small opening through the door.

“Oh my sweet heart. Come over here and don't mind your Dad”. Amelia said as he pushed her husband out of the way and reached out to his son who had hidden himself under the couch for fear of being hurt. “Are you okay?." Amelia asked. “Yes," he said quietly, nodding his head".

“Your mum always caused you pain. She's not a good woman." Choley said as he walked from the door to also reach out to his son. “Pull your hands off my son you beach”. She attacked him again.

“Daddy, Mummy.” Anslem who is now standing in between his quarrelsome parents called out to them quietly and immediately there all stopped nagging and paid attention to their son with guilt already written on their faces.

“Can I ask you both for a favor?.”He asks quietly as his voice from his childhood has always been like a female voice. “Speak on son, Dad will do it for you". His father replies but this time around with a very low voice as he perceived they have disappointed him by their action of quarreling in his presence. His mum nods her head as an approval to speak as tears are already dripping from her eyes because she knows what the little boy will say.

“Please Dad, Please Mum can you both live in this house without quarreling for one week?. Your actions are making my health get worse. Please I beg you”. He said with tears in his eyes as he knelt down to plead and the both parents knelt down with tears in their eyes. “I promise you sweet heart I will never quarrel with your Dad again.”Amelia promised her son using her left hand to push off the hands of Choley. “We promise son, we will never do this again and we will never make you cry again". His father assured him.

"Good morning Mr. Billy Choley.” I'm pleased to inform you that the company has reviewed your credentials, approved your applications and has graciously elevated you from Grade seven as a staff cleaner to an Assistant regional sales Manager. Congratulations sir”. Mr. Billy Choley was dumb folded when his promotion letter was handed over to him.

“Is this a dream?." He asked himself out loud as tears of joy dropped from his eyes as he could not believe himself. He had earlier lost his job two years ago and was forced to settle down as a cleaner when he was told that there is no vacancy at the moment.

Now Two years as a cleaner, his application was reviewed and his choice position was given to him. “This will change my life forever, give my son a good school and settle my outstanding bills and make me earn respect with my wife as she will no longer be the breadwinner of the family”. He said to himself.

“You will be handed over an official car and also an official house at the senior staff quarters. You're to report duty first thing tomorrow morning. One more time, congratulations.” The company director concluded as he stretched out his hands for a handshake.

“Hello Mr. Billy Choley please come home right now.Your eldest son was caught having an affair with his younger brother. Hurry up, I'm not joking here”. The caller hung up and Choley immediately…..
