Chapter 8

Caruss was now out from Sheena's condo and he could not be ceased from leaving. While he was waiting for some taxi outside, a limousine met him without an interval of time and three muscular escorts came out too.

"Young Pearson, Lady Rosell instructed us to take you to your condo. Let us pick you up now," an escort wearing sunny pro sunglasses bowed and frankly said to him, while he was being guided by the others to let him in the car then hurriedly got in the limousine so they could eventually take off.

At the same time, Greg was on his way home. He didn't expect anything to happen when a bunch of henchmen just appeared and surrounded his car that causing him to stop driving.

"Damn! They're here again," he yelled into his inner self since he knew what was their purpose.

Years ago, Greg likes to gamble. He always waste money and wealth by playing in the casino, sparing a lot of time with some promiscuous women and he was completely buried in a lot of debt.

This incident resulted in them having a conflict with his father, who was still furious about what he has done. Now, he was being surrounded by someone's henchmen who attempted to kill him a long time ago because he still has to pay.

A moment, a guy in a uniform came closer to him and knocked on the windowpane.

"Hey, Mister Gregory. How was everything?" The guy even managed to chuckle and took a signal to get him out of his car.

Greg took very deep breathing as he got out, thinking that he badly has to reach his father and wanted to evade them again.

"What else do you need? Why can't you just leave me alone? Aren't what we were talking about over yet?" He promptly asked when he confronted the guy.

"You seem to have forgotten our agreement. Do you truly forget about it or are you just forgetting?" The guy answered jokingly to him and even got a tap on his shoulder.

"I have paid all my debts to you. Just tell me what you need," he responded as if his voice was rising.

"Oh, I didn't realize that you know how to tell

me now the truth. Maybe, you already have amnesia since you truly get amnesia when you are in debt, right?" It even fooled him while laughing out loud.

"I don't have a moment to make fun of you. There's still time that I need to catch up," Greg replied and feeling a bit cheesed off.

"Don't be mad. You still owe fifty million pieces and I know that it's manageable for you to pay it, right?" The guy responded and put its arm around him.

"Didn't my father had already paid for it, huh? Isn't that enough?" He shortly replied as if being startled.

"Well, he only paid seventy-five percent and I'm impatient to wait for the twenty-five percent left," the guy explained.

He was shocked by the size of his debt to them. "You're kidding me, right?" His smile was raw and chuckled uneasily.

"It's not my job to make fun of you," the guy admitted frankly and changed his facial expression of a sudden.

"Now, if you still remember what I have done to your sister before, I will not be going to do that again. But case in point, when I get mad, maybe I will even feel sorry for your father," the guy gave him a brighten eye, and its corners of the mouth curved slightly upward while caressing his back.

"Don't involve them in it," Greg became empathetic which seems he doesn't disagree. "I am the one who is in arrears with you, so you will only charge me," he took responsibility when he heard their threats.

"That's what I want from you," the guy laughed inwardly and made a continuous gentle sound resembling suppressed. "Well, I'll give you a chance, requiring only two weeks to pay for it. If not, you know what will be going to happen, Gregory Wayle," and acted to have some slice across on his throat.

"Fifty million for just two weeks? Huh, are they losing their minds?" Greg brought up a question and behaved in a way that is likely to result in trouble.

"And once I've paid for it, don't bother me anymore," he replied, raising a clenched fist.

"I am expecting from you, Greg. Don't fool me again," the guy in a uniform replied and managed to narrowly place the pointing finger to him as got in the car.

Greg arrived at home with various emotions. He was truly troubled now and can't even think of how to solve each problem one by one.

"Gregory!" Yuri, his younger sister, had approached him with a longing love. He even dared to hug her and carried her on his shoulders.

"Gregory, why you didn't come home for a few days? I missed you so much," Yuri caused to protrude as she pouted her lips.

"It's not good that you're home. What are you doing here?" His other sister, Yuna, lifted a question with a high-pitched voice as he was being confronted.

"Does father is here?" Greg directly asked as he released Yuri from being loaded.

"He's still busy with the company, why?" She responded with a raising eyebrow, rolling her eyes which showed evidence of displeasure.

"I have something to ask for," Greg answered back as he justified.

"Ugh, he also doesn't want to talk to you," Yuna retorted filled with anger, mouth frowned and her forehead was scrunched downward in bitterness.

"Yuna, I just want to talk to him," Greg tenderly replied.

"Oh, is that it? Then, what are you going to talk about? It seems that he doesn't want to see you. Or perhaps, you need something from him again," Yuna was being sarcastic as she swiveled her sights again.

"I know you were felt annoyed in seeing me," Greg frankly spoke to her.

"But there's no need to resort to sarcasm to make your point. Just talk to me with respect. Please, show some manners I'm still your brother," he verily muttered.

"Why? While I have not forgotten the foolishness you have done, I will not consider you as my brother," Yuna replied firmly as she crossed her arms on her breast. "It's better that you just leave since nobody wants to see you, Greg. Nobody!"

"How long will your resentment take you, Yuna? How much will you blame me for what I have done?" Greg asked with a blistering surprise because Yuna's insult has shown.

"Do I have to care?" Yuna came closer to him.

"You don't know how much I loathe you, Greg! So if I'm with you, I won't show up anymore since I don't have a family to go home to. You're no longer welcome here, just better to leave this place and don't come back," she insisted and even managed to push Greg away to just go out.

"You were not my reason here either. I'm here because of, father. I know it's not easy to forget everything the stupidity I had caused you, but please don't take my chance to get back at you," Greg reasoned as he was trying to face Yuna in resisting.

"Huh," Yuna rolled her eyes at him again. "Father isn't here, and do you think he still has the strength to talk to you? For everything, he did just to pay for the nonsense you did? You'd better get lost!"

"If you don't want to see me, you can't do anything, Yuna. As long as, he will not be going to kick me out of this house, I will not leave." His retort to Yuna was a bit deep.

"Have you lost your mind? You went out for several weeks without acquainting us. You had already your condo to dwell on, why still settle here with us?" Yuna responded with a fuming head.

Greg walked out from them and went upstairs. In his room, he was just holding back his simmering wrath due to the number of troubles he was dealing with.

He was confused to think that his image continues to be tarnished in public, especially how he can win his father's heart.

His head was mentally aching as well, speculating that he only had two weeks to pay off all his debts, how his sister, Yuna can forgive him and make up for everything he did.

Yuna has been a victim when he ran away from the debt after losing many games. She was only got involved due to the nonsense that Greg has done.

Before, Greg keeps wasting money and wealth through gambling. In exchange for his loss, his sister was about to be killed by the syndicates.

Luckily, their father was soon responded and paid a huge amount just to settle everything. Those were what made Greg's heart explode and was even uncertain to handle all of it.

On the other hand, Caruss was surprised by the time his younger brother, Flynn, hurriedly greeted him when he finally reached the condo.

"Caruss! Big brother!" Flynn yelled and dared to hug Caruss so tight.

Lady Rosell welcomed him with a smile and even offered a way to enter. "I'm glad you're finally here, my son."

Caruss was stunned for a moment when he saw them. He couldn't utter very well since he felt a sudden mild shock.

"Mama! Little brother!" He yelled in astonishment.

"Caruss, I miss you so much," Flynn said as he thrust out his lips and wore a sullen expression.

"Aw," he said dealing with a very wide range of overwhelmed feelings, from genuine exhaustion to ironic self-pity to being overjoyed.

His face depicted yellowish with large puppy-dog eyes and a small frown.

"I am counting down the days in seeing you, little brother. I'm happy that we've met again." He even caressed Flynn's head.

"Because I can't refuse him. So I just thought of visiting here," Lady Rosell explained.

"I missed you too, Ma. "Caruss expanded and even managed to kiss Lady Rosell on the cheek.

Shortly when they have a little party in his unit, Lady Rosell broke the silence when she wanted to say something.

"Caruss, I heard you were looking for a job?" She asked on points while busy shredding her food.

"Yes, mom," Caruss stammered and trying to avert the conversation. "I just thought of searching for employment while I'm busy spending my time locating someplace to move, why?"

"Son, your applications and emails had reached me," she paused and faced him. "It's just that, everything you entered is part of our company and I'm sorry if your dad declined all of it," she looked blue in saying.

"Is that truly how big our company is, mama?" Caruss was surprised indeed.

"Yes, and we are one of the most outstanding and richest in the entire state," Lady Rosell's ungrudging thoughts had shown pride to the company.

"So, it would be better if I'll just look for another firm that doesn't own and operated by our company," Caruss would oppose.

"That won't be going to happen since we do have partnerships in different firms and industries. I am worried if your papa will know about this since he doesn't want everyone to know about you, who worked in very cheap and low positions," she expanded.

"But, Ma I don't care," he was fast in reacting while he was unable to think sensibly.

"It would be part of my acquaintance, Mama. I supposed to teach myself to find a job on my own and shouldn't rely on everything from your power and wealth," he still insisted.

"That's why I'm here to help you, Caruss," Lady Rosell said, making the corners of her mouth turn up that poured hope on Caruss.

"I'd talk to a friend that has a stake in the company too and we agreed that you will be going to work with his firm. So, hereafter, he would like to meet you personally for your initial interview," she expanded.

"Ma, you did too much," Caruss gasped as he extended his arms. "I also want to undergo searching for a job."

"I'm just making it easy for you, Caruss. Still thank me."

Caruss could do nothing to think that his stepmother won't accept rejections. So, he just shut his mouth and restrained himself to insist more, and enjoyed his food.
