Vanessa and I went out again on a land hunt with her friend. After talking with her last night, I felt better, but was still on edge about Kelly and Sarah being together. What upset me the most is that she hadn’t attempted to see Emily or even ask for her.
“Still worried about Emily and her mom?” Vanessa asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. I was trying to focus on the road, but my focus was elsewhere.
I pulled over and took a deep breath, gripping at the steering wheel hard. My knuckles were turning white.
