Chapter 5- Agreement

Jeremy was busy signing the documents that needed his approval when his assistant knocked on the door and informed him that the private investigator, he asked a week ago to investigate Felicity, has arrived. 

The investigator handed him a brown envelope to him, containing the details of Felicity. He read the documents and found out that Happy’s real name.

Felicity Mondragon is 22 years old. Filipino. The only daughter of Helena and Gregorio Mondragon. Her parents cast her away after knowing that she got pregnant when she was 16 years old and delivered a baby boy at seventeen. She has a son named Apollo Mondragon, four years old. Felicity is a single parent, living in a small apartment nearby the club she was working. She also had a tailoring shop before, but it was closed at the moment since she didn’t have any clients. Because of the rumors about her work, her business shut down. At the age of 18, she entered as a waitress at one of Mr. Tan’s clubs. Later on, she became a stripper.

Jeremy stopped reading Felicity’s profile when he felt like he was going to burst out in anger. He massaged the bridge of his nose before he looked at his investigator. “Have you found out who impregnates her?” he asked, but the investigator shook his head.

“There are no details about the identity of the guy, sir. No one knew who her boyfriend was, even her classmates.” Jeremy sighed exasperatingly upon hearing the investigator.

“Okay, you're done here. I’ll call you next time.” Jeremy informed him and he gave the investigator one hundred thousand cash.

Jeremy reviewed Felicity’s profile once again and saved her number to his phone. He picked up her photo that was included in the envelope that he received and looked at her pretty face of Felicity. ‘You’re driving me crazy. From now on, no one can only see your body but me.’ he thought.

Jeremy picked up his phone and dialed Mr. Tan’s phone number. After a few rings, the old Tan picked up his phone call. He stood up in the floor-to-ceiling window in his office, facing the beautiful scenery of a skyscraper. His right hand was holding his phone to his ear, while the other hand was inside his pocket.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Tan,” he greeted.

“Hello Mr. Li, what a pleasant surprise. How may I help you?” Mr. Tan asked over the phone. Even though Mr. Tan is older than Jeremy. But knowing that Jeremy comes from one of the most powerful families in the country, Mr. Tan needs to cure a favor for him. 

“I want to invest in one of your businesses in Vegas. What do you think?” Jeremy could hear a satisfying voice from the other line.

“Really? That’s great! I will go there and bring the documents right away.” Mr. Tan announced, but Jeremy interrupted him.

“How about we meet at your club in Vegas? I want you to prepare a VIP room for me and bring Happy there,” he suggested.

“But Mr. Li… Happy is not allowed to entertain customers at the table.” Jeremy frowned in confusion.

“Why?” he asked.

“Because it was our agreement that she will only dance, but not entertain men at their table. Much more, she’s not allowed to bring by someone outside of the club. She doesn’t want it.” Mr. Tan explained, which made Jeremy smirk in satisfaction. Hearing the agreement that Mr. Tan and Felicity made him sigh in relief.

“Well, I want to make an offer with you. I will invest in your two businesses, in an exchange for removing Happy as one of your dancers, and I am her VIP guest. I will come every night to your club, buying the most expensive liquor you served there, and will reserve a VIP room.” the other line went silent for a minute.

“I can’t guarantee that Happy will accept it.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Tan. Tell her that I won’t touch her. She just needs to dance and strip like what she did on the stage. But this time she will dance only for me. She can sue me if ever I will touch her. We can discuss an agreement too. What do you think? Plus, tell her that I’m generous in giving tips.” Jeremy heard a deep sigh from the other line before Mr. Tan agreed to his offer.

After his work, Jeremy went directly to Vegas, where one of Mr. Tan’s clubs was located. He went directly to the VIP room they reserved for him, and he met Mr. Tan. They signed the contract of investments and the agreement between Felicity and him.

After signing the contract, Mr. Tan ordered Felicity’s manager to bring her inside the VIP room.

“By the way, Mr. Li… May I know why were you so interested in Happy?” Mr. Tan asked while they were waiting for Felicity, but Jeremy shrugged.

From the moment that Jeremy mentioned Felicity as part of their agreement, Mr. Tan can’t help but be curious. From what he knew, Jeremy wasn’t the type of guy who likes to play the life of a woman. He doesn’t have any women who linked to him after his relationship with Rebecca three years ago. And now he was so interested in Felicity.

“I find her interesting, that’s all.” He simply replied.

“But there are more decent ladies out there. Women who have degrees come from wealthy families. Also, Happy is a single mom. She also works here.-”

“So, you were saying that she isn’t?” Jeremy doesn’t like how Mr. Tan describes her, which made him upset.

“I-it’s not that… I mean. Happy is not your type. She’s a single mom, and she didn’t even graduate from high school-”

“Enough!” His voice echoed in the four corners of the room. Jeremy glared at Mr. Tan. His stares were as cold as ice, which made Mr. Tan shivers down his spine. “If I were you, you better keep your mouth before I close down all your business. You should be thankful that I am investing in your company. One more word against her… I will make you bankrupt in no time.” He sternly said, which made Mr. Tan nod continuously.

He should not provoke Jeremy Li… Because Jeremy will never let you off the hook.
