CHAPTER 2: You're Trouble

"Happy birthday Jenny. Happy birthday Jenny!" I sang to my bestfriend in her apartment.

"Thankyou bestie!" She squealed and she blew the candles. She then gave me a hug after I put her cake on the table.

"Let's cut the cake.." I said as I walked to the kitchen to grab a knife. After grabbing the knife, I walked back and she grabbed my hand. She raised it and she raised her eyebrows.

"What's this? That ring looks like an engagement ring to me." She said and I sighed.

"Just eat the cake first, shall we? I'll tell you the whole story after that." I said as I gave the knife to her. She cut the cake and she sat me down.

"Now spill, I want to know.. please tell me that you hide someone from me.." She said and I shook my head.

"I went to the cake shop to buy your cake." I said pointing at the cake, "and then when I enter the shop, a guy slipped the ring to my finger and told the woman that he's with that I'm his fiancee."

"And why.. did you bring the ring here?" She asked completely confused.

"Because it's stuck, Jen. I can't get it out." I said as I tried to pull it again. Jen even tried but she failed too.

"Do you know what this means?" She narrowed her eyes.

"What?" I looked at her confused.

"Something good will happen, I can feel it.. maybe fate has decided to come to you." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah right, I don't believe you." I said chuckling.

"Elsa, you need to take a break. You've been running your whole life. You need to experience love." She said dramatically and I chuckled.

"Not now, I don't need it now."

"What if.."

"Jen, no! Not now, I'm still so young.."

"Fine fine." Jen raised her hands and gestured me to eat the cake.

"Happy birthday, once again." I said and she rolled her eyes.

We continued to eat the cake and after this I have class so I went out and walked there. It's not that far so I'll just walk. I put my earphones on and put some music.

I looked down to see the ring and it's beautiful. I wonder who will Jayson give this to? Seeing the ring made me feel like I'm engaged when I'm totally not. Speaking about Jayson, he's more handsome now. Not to mention that he wore a black suit too.

I wonder who that woman was? Is she a model? She's beautiful and sexy. I wonder why he doesn't like her? I'm pretty sure a guy like Jayson loves to have someone like her as his girlfriend. Okay Elsa, stop thinking about Jayson.

I stopped in front of a jewelry shop and I walked in there. They greeted me politely and there's a couple of customer in there too.

"Hi uhm.. can I ask you a favor?" I asked the woman in front of me.

"Sure. What can I help you with?" She asked and I put my hand in front of her.

"It's stuck, I need to take it off." I said and she looked at me like I grew another head. She grabbed my hand and looked at my ring finger. She grabbed a gel to help but it didn't work.

"Stuck?" I turned to the guy who sat next to me. He was wearing a suit and there's a set of jewelry in front of him.

"Yes." I said and he chuckled.

"What happened?" He asked and I sighed.

"I accidentally wore it and I wanted to take it off." I said and obviously it's a lie.

"Let me try." He said and I gave him my hand. He pinched my ring finger a little. It was hurting me but it's still bearable. He tried to pull the ring but it's not working.

"Your finger hurts?" He asked.

"A little."

"There's only one way to solve this." I turned to the woman who helped me earlier and smiled.

"How?"

"Cut the ring." She said and I looked at her in horror.

"No, I can't."

"After you cut it, we ca-"

"I can't. I have my reasons." I said as I looked at the staff and the man beside me.

"Okay." She left and I looked down to the ring. I stood up and I don't have any other choice but to tell Jayson about this. I walked out but before I reached the door, the guy stopped me.

"I'm Chance, how about you?"

"Uhmmm.. secret." I said.

"Why?" He looked at me disbelief and I gave him a small smile.

"I have my reasons."

"How do I get your name then?"

"If we meet again, I'll tell you my name." I said as I walked backwards.

"I'll keep your promise. I believe that we will meet again and you have to give your number too." He said and I smiled nodding.

"Let's see." I gave him a thimbs up and continued to walk to my uni. I took my phone out and dialed Jayson's number.

"Hello." He picked up in a flat tone.

"It's me, the girl with your ring."

"What's your name?" I should put my name on my forehead next time.

"No need to know my name."

"How can I address you then? Cake girl? The girl who has my ring?"

"I don't care. I wanted to return the ring but it's still stuck. I went to the jewelry shop asking for help but they told me the only wait is to cut it up."

"Don't! It's my mom's." He bursted in shock.

"I didn't! But we don't have any other way."

"Okay, just.. make sure it stays in your finger. I'll find a way. I need your name!" He hissed.

"I don't want to give it to you."

"But you know my name."

"No!" I ended the call. I walked through the hallway of my school. I got into class and I'm so sleep. I hate having my class in the evening. It makes me want to sleep.

"Elsa!" I turned to see Kevin as I got out from my classroom.

"Hey Kev."

"You're done with class?" He asked and I nodded. Suddenly my phone rang and I gestured Kevin to wait and he nodded. I picked up without seeing the caller ID.

"Ring girl!" It's Jayson.

"What?"

"I need you to come to my house and pretend to be my fiancee." My jaw dropped for a second.

"What? No!" I said instantly. I can't believe he just said it like I would agree to it right away.

"You have to!"

"Or what?" I hissed. He always gets what he wants, isn't he?

"Or I'll.." I ended the call and turned to Kevin.

"Wait! Is that a ring on your finger? Am I missing something? You got engaged? But you don't have a boyfriend.." Kevin looked at it as he asked.

"No.. Kevin, I'm not. It's a long story. Do you have class after this?"

"Yeah, in here." He said.

"Okey then.. I'll be going first. I have to go back to the cafe."

"Okay, E. I'll see you soon." Kevin smiled and walked into his class. I walked away from my uni and waited for the bus. Suddenly there's a black car stopped right in front of me. I raised my eyebrows and the window went down.

It's Jayson.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked annoyed.

"What do you think?" He asked as he looked at the ring. I started to hate this guy because he has zero attitude and completely acting like an asshole. I rolled my eyes and decided to walk away ditching the bus. I put my earphone on and Jayson stopped me by holding on to my wrist.

"What?!" I hissed.

"Come with me to my parents house." He said.

"No. Why should I?"

"Because you're wearing the ring and my mom will go nuts if I told her I've lost it." I laughed at him.

"That's not my problem! You're the one who dragged me into this.."

"Yes, I know but we can't cut it that easily. It's her ring." He said with a begging tone.

"No, I'm not going with you."

"Please.. that ring is my great grandmother's."

"No."

"Unbelievable!" He sighed.

"Yeah.. you should go away!"

"Do you know who I am?" I rolled my eyes and kept walking. He stopped me again but this time he stood in front of me. He showed me his phone with the picture of me inside the class.

"I owned the share to your university and do you know what that means?" He smirked and I raised my eyebrows.

"What do you say Elsa Koshly? You only have a year left, don't you think it's such a shame that-"

"Give me your parent's address-" I cut him and he smirked.

"That's more like it."
