CHAPTER 6: You're Trouble

I opened my eyes slowly and turned to see Jayson sleeping. I gasped when I saw the sun is already up. Did I just sleep in his car throughout the night? I took off my seatbelt and grabbed my bag. I got out from the car and froze. I looked around and we’re currently parked on the mountain. He literally took me here and ended up sleeping in the car.

I got back in and turned to Jayson debating if I should wake him up or what. I took out my phone and it’s 6.47 in the morning and we’re high up. I can’t just walk down and make it to class in time.

“Jayson..” I poked him but he was still sleeping.

“Jayson..” I whispered to his ear.

“Jayson!!!” I literally screamed and he opened his eyes immediately. His eyes turned cold instantly but I didn’t even bother to look away.

“Are you going to stay like this?” He hissed and I leaned back to my seat. He sat up straight and leaned his body back. He checked the time and turned on his car.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?”

“I don’t know." He sighed.

“Let’s go, I have class in 2 hours.” I said and he turned to me annoyed.

“Jayson, come on. Time is ticking..” I added and he rolled his eyes.

“First of all, you’re the one who slept in my car and my mom told me not to wake you up. She made me swear of it.” He blabbered. “It’s all your damn fault!” I let out a sigh and grabbed my bag.

I got out from the car and decided to walk down. I’m so tired of him, he always blames me when I’m not the one who needs help. Jayson’s car stopped next to me and he followed me.

“Get in, Elsa.” He said and I ignored him.

“Elsa, don’t make me say it twice..” He hissed and again I ignored him.

“Last chance, Elsa. Get in or you have to walk 2 hours..” He said and I walked even faster. With that he drove away and I sighed. I looked up to the sky praying that God can help me to get out from this situation. I kept walking ignoring the fact that I’m slowly getting tired. I even sat down on a rock to rest.

Suddenly a car stopped next to me and he rolled down the window.

“Last chance, Elsa.” He said.

“No, thank you. You can go.” I said gesturing him to go.

“Fine, good luck finding someone to pick you up.” He smirked.

“Don’t worry, Chance is one call away. I’m sure he will pick me up, or I’ll just ask Kevin.” With that he got off the car and walked to me. He stood in front of me for a split second before he picked me up on his shoulder. He opened the car door and put me inside. He locked the door from outside preventing me to even runawau.

“I fucking hate you!”

“Elsa..” He warned as I kept trying to open the door. He got in and started his car.

“You! Before you came into my life, I had a peaceful life. You ruined everything! You asked me to help you and I did but what did I get in return? You treated me like shit!” I bursted angrily and then I turned to him.

“Are you happy now? Done blabbering?” He asked coldly and I looked away. He drove his car and I sighed. I put on the seatbelt silently and seeing the sky turned dark slowly. Rain started falling and it’s literally raining cats and dogs. I cried silently because I was mad, annoyed and stressing out.

“Elsa.” Jayson called me.

“Hmm?”

“Are you crying?”

“No.” I said and my phone rang. I quickly took it out from my bag and saw the caller ID.

It’s Chance. I almost pressed the green button but Jayson took the phone from me. He pulled over and he rejected the call. I looked at him speechless and disbelief.

“You’re crying.”

“No.”

“Why did you reject his call?”

“He’s annoying.” He said and I rolled my eyes.

“I will get this ring off, I don’t want to see you again.” I said.

“Feel free to try, I don’t want that ring to get out from your hand anyway.” He said and I looked away. I don’t even understand what he wants, what he doesn’t want. He’s too complex for me to understand.

One second he wanted it off, one second later he wanted it to stay on my finger.

“I’ll return it tomorrow.” I said and I tried to get my phone back from him but he was fast enough to put it away. I tried to reach it but he was too good at putting it away. I lost my balance that I had to push his thigh. We both looked at each other for a couple of seconds before I sat up straight again.

“Just drive, I’m going to be late.” I said. “I have class in less than an hour.” I said and he started the car. He drove away and we turned silent again.

I just hope this ring will cooperate with me.
