INICIAR SESIÓNKiara’s POV
I could hear the music outside. Maelor was serious about the celebration, and I couldn’t wrap my mind around it, why he would react the way he did, knowing we haven’t even slept together in a year.
It was like he and Cassian wanted to set me up.
Like it was a ploy by both of them to ruin me, but I couldn’t pinpoint why. First of all, if I didn’t know better, I would say Cassian had a hand in this celebration, but no.
Maelor was the person hosting it, and everyone with eyes knew Cassian and Maelor were like water and oil.
They don’t mix.
But why was Maelor doing this? Why did he suddenly accept that he came to my room that night, even though he knew he didn’t enter? He had detested me.
He wouldn’t even look me in the eye, and he had verbally said that he wouldn’t touch me, and all of a sudden I was pregnant and he congratulates me?
What kind of game is this?
What kind of plot am I being forced to participate in?
Pushing the thought down my mind when I heard a knock by the door, a maid pushed through before I could even tell her to walk in. She stepped in, her head lowered to the floor, then she said.
“Luna, the Alpha requests your presence.”
Looking at her, my hands began to shake. I held it with the other hand, then proceeded to speak.
“Fine, tell him I would be there in ten minutes. I want to dress,” I said. The maid bowed, then walked out of the room, while I proceeded to the closet.
Only the goddess knew what was going to happen when Maelor and I finally are alone. I could only dread that conversation, for now he knew I cheated on him, and he had chosen to gaslight everyone, including himself, that it belonged to him.
And I dread his reaction when he finds out it was for his brother.
I took one of my purple dresses that was loose on my body from the hanger. It flowed all the way to the floor, and after the appetite change the last two months, I have been eating a lot of greasy food.
My weight had increased considerably, and I couldn’t go around with a tight dress.
Taking it, I stripped myself off the dress I had worn initially, then held my hair in a tight ponytail, before wearing the dress above my head.
I hadn’t worn it in three weeks.
Damn…
It stuck halfway down my body, my hands were hung in the air, unable to come down, neither could I move it back up.
Damn it…
I should have told the maid to stay, to help me wear a dress at least. If dressing up is hard for me now, how hard is it going to be when I have a fully formed child in my belly?
I cussed beneath my breath, then proceeded to move toward the door. Hopefully, a guard or a maid would be close by to help me pull the dress off my head before someone walks in and finds me half naked.
Waddling like a damn penguin toward the door, I knocked on the handle with my body, then pushed forward, but still, the heavy door of the pack rooms had once again proven to be incredibly strong.
It wouldn’t even move.
Damn it.
I am stuck in until someone comes to my rescue then… I pushed again, not wanting to give up, but after I pushed about four times, and nothing, not even a single budge, I tried pulling the clothes, but the whole movement had worsened the situation. I had no other option than to yell for help.
“Help!!” I cried out.
No response.
I couldn’t feel any wolf close by, at least five feet closer.
If my voice could reach out to someone, I would be delighted.
“Help! Anybody!” I screamed, but my scream was muffled by fabric.
Seeing that no one was coming either, I decided I would rather wait for Maelor to send someone back inside the room. Hopefully, in ten minutes he would ask why I haven’t been out, and he would come in here to find me.
Three minutes waiting, the knob of the door finally budged, and someone pushed through the door. I couldn’t tell who it was, but whoever it was could see that I was stuck.
“Help… I am stuck,” I admitted in defeat.
I was met by silence. No one was saying anything.
“Hey, you don’t have to stare. I know I am naked. Now rid me of the suffering and help me pull the clothes out.” Rolling my eyes, I tried to pull it off again, but all to no avail. It was still a waste of time.
“If you are going to stay there and do nothing, you can just leave. Go out there, call someone else,” I said, annoyed this time.
I knew someone was in the room. I heard the door open, and I knew it closed, so who could it be?
“Have someone else see you naked?” Cassian’s voice berated my ears, and in a second, my heart dropped and my body stilled.
“Cassian?…” My voice faltered as realization struck me.
I was naked in front of Cassian.
Damn…
“Cassian, what are you doing here? You know you shouldn’t be here, right? You shouldn’t see me naked.” I stood up, but my body instantly met his. My naked body brushed against his clothes, and I stumbled backward.
His hands quickly grabbed my waist, then pulled me closer to his body again.
“You will not hurt my child, Kiara,” he said, his voice gruff but low. My body heated up again.
“This is not your child.”
“Say it till you believe it.” His hands tucked beneath the dress, then in a swift yet careful movement of his hands, he pulled it up and swung it over my head, revealing his face.
His brown hair fell on his face, and his hazel eyes stared back at me. My heart dropped.
“It’s nice seeing you naked again, Kiara. You look even better in the daylight.”
Kiara’s POVHis comment made my cheeks flare. I couldn’t take the heat that overwhelmed me, so I shoved him backward immediately.“How dare you say that to me! How dare you!” I shoved him again, unable to contain the anger within me.He raised his hands up in defense, then passed down his smug smile. “You were the one that called for help, you know that, right? You called for help, and I came.”“No, you came here because you wanted to make me uncomfortable.” I made an attempt to push him again, but he moved aside, making me miss. He quickly moved behind me, then held me from behind.Pulling my waist toward his hard body.I felt a shudder running down my body as his hands wrapped around my waist.“If you shout too loud, someone might hear you. Do you want that, Kiara?” His words slurred, but I refused to fall for his charms and his slow torment.“Leave here, Cassian. I don’t want you here.” I said, trying my very best not to react to the touch of his hands on my bare waist, and the fac

CHAPTER FOURKiara’S POVI stared at the healer as if I had forgotten how to breathe.“You are pregnant.” The words echoed inside my head, refusing to disappear even after the healer had gone silent.Pregnant. For five years, that was the word I had prayed to hear. For five years, I had watched other women in the pack carry their children while I stood at a distance, smiling whenever they spoke about their pregnancies even though something inside me broke a little more each time.I had endured the whispers, the pitying looks, the cruel laughter, and the name that had followed me everywhere. Barren Luna and now, after all those years, the Moon Goddess had finally answered my prayers but instead of happiness, fear slowly settled inside my chest, because I knew exactly when this pregnancy had begun.I knew whose child I was carrying, ay hand slowly moved toward my stomach.Cassian.bThe healer was watching me closely, and I realized that she had mistaken my silence for shock caused by hap
CHAPTER THREEKiara’S POVTwo months had passed since the night that changed everything. Two months since I had opened my eyes in an unfamiliar room and believed, for a few foolish minutes, that Maelor had finally returned to me.Two months since I discovered that the man who had carried me into that room had never been my husband. Two months since Cassian, the man everyone had believed was dead, returned to the pack. And for two months, I had done everything I could to avoid him.Whenever I heard that Cassian was in the main house, I found an excuse to remain in my room. Whenever I saw him from a distance, I changed direction before he could notice me, and whenever his voice reached me from somewhere nearby, my heart would begin beating so hard that I would have to remind myself to breathe.I didn't know what frightened me more, the fact that I had spent that night with Maelor's stepbrother or the fact that I could still remember every detail of it.I remembered his voice, I remember
CHAPTER TWOKiara’S POVI woke up slowly, my eyes opening to the soft light coming through the curtains as I stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above me, trying to understand where I was and why my body felt so weak. For a few moments, my mind was completely blank. Then the memories of the previous night began coming back.It was our fifth wedding anniversary.I remembered preparing dinner for Maelor, waiting for him with a heart full of hope, only for him to return with Elyra and humiliate me before walking away with her.I remembered taking the fertility seed, I remembered the strange heat that had spread through my body. Then I remembered someone taking me to his room.Maelor, he had come back to me, I finally was with him last night! The fertility seed would work, now! Expecting a baby.A small smile slowly appeared on my lips as I remembered what happened afterward.Maybe our marriage was not completely over.I slowly sat up and pulled the blanket around myself, looking toward the
CHAPTER ONEKiara’S POVI carefully placed the last plate on the dining table and stepped back to look at everything I had prepared, making sure that nothing was out of place because tonight was not an ordinary night to me.Today was our fifth wedding anniversary.Five years had passed since I became Maelor’s wife, five years since the Moon Goddess had given me the man I once believed would love me more than anyone else, and five years since I had been trying to convince myself that his coldness was only temporary.I looked at the table and smiled faintly. The candles were burning quietly, the food was still warm, and everything Maelor liked was there. I had prepared his favorite dishes, bought his favorite wine, and even placed a small gift beside his plate. For tonight, I wanted to forget the past five years.I wanted to believe that our marriage could still be saved, my hand moved to the small pouch hidden inside my dress. The fertility seed was inside.I had gone miles away from
