INICIAR SESIÓNMy fiancé Felix Morgan’s secretary Claire believed in tarot the way other people believed in gravity. The first time she met me, she threw a glass of water in my face. Without missing a beat, she explained to Felix, "You have an important client today. The cards say that if your lover wears makeup, it will ruin your luck." I assumed Felix would punish her for it. Instead, he turned to me. "Audrey, go take it off. The client comes first." After that, she only got bolder. On our anniversary, she said Felix would face bloodshed or even death if he saw me that day. So I did not see Felix once all day. When we planned our pre-wedding shoot, she said I would bring Felix bad luck that year. The photo shoot I had spent weeks planning was quietly canceled. I fought with Felix about it more times than I could count. And every time, he gave me the same self-righteous speech: "Claire is an extremely dedicated secretary. Everything she does is for me and for the company. The more I earn, the better the life I can give you!" Then I found out I was pregnant. Claire said, "This baby was conceived at an unlucky time. It will hold Felix's career back." Felix did not hesitate for a second. "Get rid of it. Claire wouldn't steer me wrong. There will be other babies. We'll have Claire pick a good time later." Something inside me finally broke. I put a hand on my stomach. Fine. Then this baby wouldn't carry the Morgan name.

My lips quivered in fear as he dares his intense gaze at me. His eyes are bloodshot, sending chills down my spine.
I whimpered words of forgiveness when he began to move closer to me. "I'm sorry, sir."
"You're sorry? Oh, I'll show you what sorry means. Get on the bed."
I dare not quickly do as he tells me. My hands are sweaty already and ready for another punishment from my stepfather, Chris, tonight. He sees me as nothing but a punching bag.
He starts to remove his belt, and before I know it, he wipes it on my chest. I scream out instantly, grabbing the spot, but he stops me when he bounces on me, his weight pressing me into the bed.
"Please..." My voice is now a whisper.
His right hand holds both of my own, as words emitting from him cut deep wounds inside me. "You're a nothingness who's supposed to glad I didn't send you out there to become a rogue. Your mother is just a whore, as you're her little waste product!"
He continues to spill vile words that perilously destroy every will I have to believe I'm not as worthless as I am counted to be.
I tried to fight against him, but it was fruitless. He's stronger than I am. In my pack, the Northern Capital Pack, being an Omega is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone. You are expunged from the rest of society and seen as the lowest of the lowest.
Apparently, a flower vase or a kitchen utensil are far more important than I am.
Suddenly, my hands reached out to a vase and slammed it against his cheeks. The physical pain of it slitting my palm isn't compared to the humiliation his words have daggered in me.
I still cannot believe that he used to be my favorite dad since my biological one died when I was a child.
As he stands up, his cheeks heal, and his reddish eyes are glaring at me once again. He is ten times angrier than he was before.
"How dare you, you worthless nothingness?" His voice is full of venom. "Come here. Now!" He screams at me, but I know I cannot.
I have to think, and that's what I did when I bolted out of the room. I began to run, speeding my way out of the house and out of the gates. I didn't see the thorns attached to the rusty irons that it burned when I got cut by it.
However, the burning pain isn't compared to the feeling of devastation I have in my heart right now. I'm not thinking. Maybe I should have allowed him to rape me because I have nowhere to turn. No one will allow me into their homes. I am similar to a rogue in society, so none of them see me as the shewolf that I really am.
On my way into the woods on the other side of the house, more tears roll down my eyes. This is it. I am finally doomed, and it all started when I turned eighteen without having shifted into my wolf.
All the people I thought loved me turned their backs against me. It is the most unfair rule in the Northern Capital Pack. Things were still a little fair, as at the time, my stepfather hadn't turned into the beast he is now.
I thought my life would still get better since I was just a late bloomer, but then, after the age of twenty, I came out with those beautiful white and sandy brown furs that reflect mildly under the blue moon, and the worst of misfortune bounced on me. I became totally ruined.
Chris changed utterly and became another thing. I was an abomination, disgrace, and nothingness to him and everyone else. I cannot do anything right in their eyes.
My thoughts got distracted when I tripped, and before I'd fall, I changed into my wolf. Beauty comes last in the Northern Capital Pack. They only want your strength and power to contribute to the economy.
My wolf whines softly as she tries to heal us slowly, like the omega that we are. Finally, we approach a lake deep within the woods, and I rest on all fours.
My eyes focused on the moon, letting its bright light blind me, and it was comforting. Funnily enough, I have always found the utmost peace and love with the flow of the wind, the sound of the crickets and bugs, the growth of the trees, and the stilness of the lakes.
My sadness suddenly cleared, and I began to wish for something I could never get. I wish my mother hadn't died; maybe things would have been better, and maybe Chris wouldn't have become this cruel person. We used to be the sweetest family.
Or maybe if I had been a stronger wolf and not something they consider an emptiness in space.
My thoughts soon drift to what I'll do now. I have run from home, and at least tonight I cannot go back there. I have to do something else before getting out of here.
I change back to my human body and clean my face with the water from the lake. I shudder lightly at the coldness of the water. This is one of the disadvantages of being an Omega. You are weak and also susceptible to cold when you're not in your wolf form.
I make my way to the cloth station and find a black gown that stops right around my knees and a t-strap shoe. As I get out of the woods and into the street, I pack my dark blonde hair into a ponytail.
The weather is releasing thunderous applause now, and when I stopped walking after twenty minutes, I was in front of a nightclub, the sound from inside quaking the grounds outside. Curiosity kills my cat, and I approach the entrance without thinking.
"Stop there." Says one of the bouncers. I could tell he's glaring at me even with his sunglasses on. "Where do you think you're entering?"
My voice is caught up in my throat. "I was going..."
The other one, with a much bigger, hunkier body, chuckles. "Go somewhere where lowlifes like you think you are worth something." After he finishes saying that, he takes one step forward, and I knew I had to run away now.
Well, that's all I have ever done. It's not like I can stand my ground.
I was about to step away when a masculine voice spoke from my back. "Let the lady in."
I find myself called to his masculine figure, spraying me with the authority that his tone carries. My wolf instantly and intently purrs at the sight of him in a dark shirt tucked into a fine woolen trouser and a shining black leather shoe. I couldn't see his face well because of the umbrella placed above his head by a man in all black.
Wow, this person must be rich and royal, most likely.
"Sire, she is..."
"Did I make a mistake when I talked earlier? If she wishes to drink here, then she drinks here."
"Yes, sir." The bouncers bow their heads instantly.
After the man has entered, their faces change to a smiley one. "Please go inside, ma'am."
I blink at the title he used for me. I could cry right now. For the first time in my life, I am seen as a lady, ma'am, and respected.
With disbelief and hesitation, I make my way inside. I plan to make use of this chance I have gotten, unworried about what next is to happen in my miserable life.
It had started a few months earlier. Amara often became short of breath, and even the smallest activity left her gasping. Then she started coughing at night.I took her to the hospital, and she was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy.I could not believe it. She was so young. She was only three years old.I took her to hospital after hospital. They all gave me the same answer.I cried until I had no tears left.Oscar tried to comfort me, telling me not to give up hope.Medicine had come so far. There had to be a way.I did my research. The only option was a heart transplant. But a heart wasn't like a kidney. No living person could donate one to my daughter. And finding a compatible donor seemed almost impossible. My daughter took my hand. "Mommy, am I very sick?"Suddenly, I was back in that abandoned house years ago.Back then, I had thought we were both going to die.Strangely, I hadn't been that afraid. At least my daughter and I would have been together on our way to heaven.
As my pregnancy went on, even moving around became harder.Thankfully, Oscar was there the whole time, looking after me.He was straightforward about his feelings. He liked me, and he never tried to hide it.I still did not know how to respond to him.A month before I was due, Felix somehow found me again.Oscar had come with me to my prenatal appointment.Felix was waiting downstairs. He looked even more exhausted than the last time I had seen him. When he spotted me, his eyes immediately lit up.When he saw Oscar, his brows locked together.Oscar deliberately slipped an arm around my shoulders in front of him.Felix's eyes turned bloodshot at the sight. He stormed over and shoved Oscar away from me. "What gives you the right to touch her? Audrey is my fiancée, and that baby is ours. You're an outsider. What the hell is wrong with you?"Oscar was not bothered. He calmly smoothed out his wrinkled shirt. "Felix, photos of you in bed with another woman are all over the internet. How do y
That one sentence set Felix off."And who exactly are you? What gives you the right to speak for her?"I answered for Oscar. "He saved my life. That gives him more of a right to be here than you."Felix's expression shifted rapidly.Oscar gave him a knowing smile. "Also, I recorded everything that happened that day. I'm sure the police would find it useful."Felix's eyes narrowed. "Are you threatening me?""If that's how you want to take it, I won't argue." Oscar didn't seem bothered at all.Felix clenched his fists until his knuckles cracked, but there was nothing he could do.Before he left, he looked at me one more time.I looked away. After Felix left, Oscar said, "Sorry, Audrey. I lied just now. I didn't record anything that day."I had guessed as much. If he really had footage, he would have asked me long ago if I wanted to go to the police.I shook my head. "Honestly, even with footage, it would be hard to charge them with anything."From that far away, the camera wouldn't have
When I woke again, I was in a hospital. The pain in my abdomen was gone.Panic hit me, and I immediately grabbed my stomach."Don't be scared. The baby's still there."I turned toward the voice and saw a handsome young man I'd never met before."You saved me?"He smiled. "I happened to be sketching nearby and saw you with those people. Something about them didn't seem right. Then they left without you, and I noticed they'd locked the door from the outside."Memories of that day rushed back, bringing the pain with them. "Thank you."The young man's name was Oscar Bennett. He was a painter.I charged my phone and found dozens of missed calls and messages, all from Felix.I had disappeared, and now he was frantic?Shouldn't he have been happy? Now he was free to be with his secretary.I took a deep breath and blocked his number.Thank God Oscar had found me in time.I'd lost some blood, but thankfully, the baby was fine.I only needed to rest in bed for a while.A few days later, despite
