Chapter 3

Author: Fierce Sleeping Dog
I followed the pinpoint schedule from the comments and began my "interception mission" for the next three days.

It was a Tuesday afternoon, and Henry was going to meet his second target offline. "MoonShadow" was the top-ranked assassin in all of "Shimmering Starfield".

I swapped into a black leather biker jacket and showed up at Enthrall Bar half an hour ahead of time.

"MoonShadow" was a rebellious young woman with silver hair who had a raw, untamed energy about her. She was visibly stunned as she reached the table and caught sight of me, her pace faltering slightly.

I merely swirled the cocktail in my glass and said softly, "You lost that open-world duel last time and owed me ten thousand gold. When do you plan to pay it back?"

Just that one piece of inside information from the game made "MoonShadow" drop her defenses. She—the unruly, high-ranking assassin in-game—blushed deeply as she hesitantly called out my in-game ID. "W-WindListener…"

Just as we were hitting it off, Henry burst through the door of the bar, huffing and puffing.

He had gone out of his way to wear an irresistibly cute, city-boy-style outfit, fully expecting to reel in his second target. He was, however, completely stunned and stood rooted to the floor the moment he looked toward the table and spotted me sitting there with "MoonShadow".

He was baffled as to how I met up with Yvonne the previous day and "MoonShadow" today. He finally understood that I hadn't just happened to pass by—I was systematically hunting down his targets with precision.

He trembled with fury, his eyes turning bloodshot as he clenched his fists until his nails pierced his skin. He saw "MoonShadow" treating me with such devotion and compliance that he couldn't bring himself to face me. He turned and fled the scene in a hurry instead.

It was a Wednesday night, and Henry planned to meet his third target—the game's top healer, "MiracleTouch".

I put on a refined, casual button-down and took my seat in the upscale restaurant early. "MiracleTouch" turned out to be a sophisticated, mature woman with gold-rimmed glasses. I simply told her that her bad positioning in the previous dungeon almost wiped out the party twice and that she owed us an apology for that, for her to gladly serve me my steak and wine.

Henry, all dressed up and arriving at the scene, saw me laughing and talking with "MiracleTouch". He was beside himself with rage.

"Oh no! It seems like the supporting male lead has snatched all of the male lead's targets!"

"He's absolutely livid! He's already smashed three glasses in his dorm room out of pure rage!"

"That supporting male lead is too cunning! He's using his inside knowledge to snatch the targets first!"

"You shouldn't back down now, Henry! You should just gather all four of them and have a face-to-face showdown!"

"That's right! You have to expose the supporting male lead for the account-stealing fraud he really is!"

I looked at the frantic scrolling of the comments in the comment section and smiled deeply, thinking that Henry had finally reached his breaking point and was ready to lash out in desperation.

Just as I expected, Henry sent me a message on Friday evening. "I've booked a private room at Peninsula View, and all four of them are coming. Do you have the guts to show up and confront them, Vincent?"

I looked at the message and almost laughed aloud, wondering if this was a case of the guilty accusing the innocent. Did Henry actually plan to assemble all four targets for a public condemnation meeting? He was practically begging for a quicker downfall.

I arrived at the designated spot at a leisurely pace and opened the door to the private room of Peninsula View at 8:00 pm.

It was finally time for the match. Henry put on our team jersey and took his place in the front row of the spectator area for families. He waved a glow stick and shouted at the top of his lungs, cheering us on.In the finals, we were up against Apex Crown, a legacy team that had held the title for three consecutive years. In a grueling best-of-five series, both teams battled until the score was deadlocked at two-all.It was the most suffocating final game, and by the 25th minute, the pivotal Sentinel team fight came, one that could determine the victor.Apex Crown shifted their tactics, deciding to go all-in on shutting me down as the primary mage. They ambushed me from the tall grass outside our field of vision. They dumped every ultimate and crowd-control spell they had right on top of me."Use your Flash now, Vincent!" Yvonne yelled anxiously through the headset."You shouldn't worry about me!" I kept my eyes locked on the screen, my fingers hammering the keyboard at lightning

I could no longer see that bizarre comment section once Henry left.I pulled out a chair, my eyes moving steadily across the four elite players in front of me. I then pulled a pre-drafted team proposal from my bag and tossed it onto the table. "It's time to get to work now that the riff-raff has been dealt with. Astral Sparks is officially formed today."In the following three months, romance was the last thing on anyone's mind. It was nothing but a brutal, hellish training camp. Those four elite, arrogant players who ruled the server were whipped into shape by my captaincy. I made Yvonne grind solo matches until sunrise for every minor positioning error, and I absolutely laid into "MoonShadow" whenever her entry timing was too aggressive. There was no room for romantics or sidepieces in the training facility. There was only raw talent and a desperate, burning desire to win it all. It was finally December, and the National League Finals had arrived. There wasn't a single seat em

In that instant, everyone in the private room fell silent. Henry, seeing his elaborate web of lies torn apart in front of everyone, went white as a sheet. He reacted like a cornered beast and bolted upright after the shock wore off, yelling, "So what?"He pointed directly at me and shrieked, "You're in no position to criticize me, Vincent! Haven't you spent this time meeting all four of them offline? You met Yvonne at Cosmic Coffee and sought out 'MoonShadow' at a bar. You're just out here collecting women, too! You're a shameless womanizer, exactly like me!"In that instant, the crowded comment section swept across my field of vision again."Holy shit! Henry actually started a live stream on the campus network just a second ago!""It seems like everyone on campus is watching this carnage play out right now!""It's truly a brilliant move, shifting the heat to another person. Henry's brilliance is unmatched! That supporting male lead is completely done for!""There's no way he can

Yvonne stepped forward, positioning herself between Henry and me. She glared at me and asked, "Why did you impersonate Henry, Vincent?""MoonShadow" didn't hold back and swore at me. "You'd better get the hell out of here this instant! You're only embarrassing yourself by staying here!"I watched these fools, completely brainwashed by his act and lost in their own melodrama. I couldn't help but offer a slow, rhythmic applause, the sharp sound cutting through the private room. "It's truly a brilliant performance!"I took my time pulling my phone from my bag and opening the game assistant app. I then said, "You've got a sharp memory, Henry. You're so fond of bringing up 'emotions' and 'messages,' so let's project the last two weeks of your chat logs onto the screen. "I'm sure these four ladies would love to see just how many people you've been 'sincere' with at the same time."Henry's expression immediately stiffened. He suddenly understood my intention and flung himself toward me

Upon hearing that, Henry's face turned deathly pale. He bit his lip and trembled slightly, unable to control his body. He soon looked around nervously and assumed a face full of sorrow and grievance. "You know full well that I purchased this account from a third party, Vincent—so the ID on the account isn't even mine. You're only demanding a facial recognition scan because you want to use that technicality to slander me!" He not only sidestepped the face-scan trap but also painted himself as a weak underdog bullied by wealth. He shifted his focus to the four women to appeal to their feelings, without even giving me a chance to respond to his accusations. "He might be able to hijack the account, but he can't take the heart of everything we've been through together!" Henry's eyes were bloodshot as he gazed tenderly at Yvonne. "You pulled three all-nighters preparing for the bar exam, and I spent all three days with you on voice chat. You ran a high fever one day, so I ordered y

It was incredibly tense in the private room. Henry, wearing a pitiable white shirt, sat at the main seat with red, swollen eyes, and beside him were four of the top players of "Shimmering Starfield", including Yvonne and "MoonShadow".In the center, a woman lounged while absentmindedly spinning a lighter in her hand. She was none other than Jesse Fuller, the elite heiress of Bellevue society and the second-ranked high roller in the game.Upon seeing me walk into the private room, Henry shot to his feet. He pointed his finger at me, his voice laced with grievance and anger while yelling, "You're nothing but a gutless account-stealing thief, Vincent! You actually had the nerve to show up here!"In that instant, everyone in the private room fell silent, and all four women turned to look at me. Yvonne and "MoonShadow" rose to their feet, instinctively moving to protect me.Upon seeing their reaction, Henry started wailing uncontrollably. "You shouldn't let him play you! He's not 'WindL
