Aaliyah’s POV

Silk sheets clung to my skin as I jolted awake. I’d fallen asleep in Orrin’s room last night, curled on his bed and with tears soaking his pillow.

Orrin must’ve carried me here, his hands gentle despite the chasm I’d carved between us with my lies and my betrayal.

I stumbled out of bed with my oversized sweater and my hair a mess. The penthouse was silent, no jazz, no clink of Orrin’s coffee mug.

My chest ached. He's gone. He comes and goes without even sparing me a sight of him these days.

I padded to the kitchen, hoping he was there, but it was empty, save for covered dishes on the counter, steam curling from beneath the lids.

The scent of ginger tea hit me, and I frowned, spotting Mary, our housekeeper, polishing a glass with her gray bun tight and her smile soft.

“Mary, what’s all this?” I asked, gesturing to the dishes. “I didn’t ask for breakfast.”

She paused, her eyes warm. “I didn't prepare them Ma'am. Mr. Orrin made it before he left for the office. Said it’

Lisa’s POVI gripped my phone, the screen dim and unyielding as I checked. No new notifications from Jace still.I’ve called him a number of times, sent a handful of texts, each one more concerned than the last. “Hey, I’m okay. I just got caught up.” “Jace, I’m so sorry about missing our meetup. Please call me back.” Nothing. Not a single reply. My thumb hovered over a contact, the urge to reach out through his company’s line tugging at me, but I shook my head. Mixing business with personal stuff felt wrong, like crossing a line I couldn’t uncross. Maybe he was done with me. Maybe he didn’t want to get tangled in the mess I'm in.I sighed, tucking my phone into my purse as the driver pulled up to a penthouse. My phone buzzed, and Kaito’s name lit up the screen. A flutter of warmth spread through my chest. Since that day at his place, when we’d crossed a line we couldn’t take back, he’d been a constant in my life—calls, dates and I ended up in his place a couple of times. We wer

Aaliyah’s POV“We're home, honey” I whispered to Elias who was snuggled in his carrier against my chest. His tiny breaths puffed against my collarbone. Orrin trailed behind, juggling the diaper bag and a stuffed giraffe that Orrin got despite telling him Elias wasn't old enough to play with it yet.The bell above the door chimed as I stepped into the penthouse and before I could take another step, Mary was barreling toward us, her apron dusted with flour and her smile wide enough to light up the whole damn place.Mary’s voice was a mix of joy and disbelief as she circled me, taking a good look at Elias.“He’s such a little angel! Congratulations, Ma'am! You’re back, and you brought the most precious cargo in the world!”I laughed, the sound bubbling up despite the exhaustion clinging to my bones from carrying Elias.“Mary, you’re gonna make me cry, and I’ve already used up my tear quota for the week.” I adjusted Elias’s carrier, his tiny hand curling around my finger. “Say hi to Aunt

Lisa’s POV“Fuck” I muttered as I collapsed on the couch. The air was thick with the smell of our sweat. The places on my skin where Kaito’s hands had been still tingled. His touch was both gentle and commanding, unraveling me in ways I hadn’t anticipated. But as the haze of passion began to fade, a wave of uncertainty crashed over me, cold and sharp. What now? What did this mean? My heart was a tangled mess, caught between the thrill of what had just happened and the gnawing fear of what came next.I sprang to my feet, my legs unsteady beneath me as I reached for my clothes scattered across the floor. The silk of my blouse slipped through my trembling fingers as I tried to piece myself back together, to cover the vulnerability I’d just laid bare. I couldn’t stay here, not with my thoughts spiraling, not with the weight of what we’d done pressing against my chest.“Lisa,” Kaito’s voice was soft, a quiet anchor in the storm of my mind. His hand caught my wrist, gentle but firm,

Jace’s POVAfter dialling Lisa a couple of times and still couldn't reach her, I headed for my car parked a block away. The watch on my wrist read 8:40PM, and Lisa still hadn’t shown up. My gut twisted and a nagging unease gnawed at me. My mind raced with every worst-case scenario—Hana’s goons. She was a threat I couldn’t shake. I yanked open the car door, sliding into the driver’s seat and pulled out my phone again, dialing Lisa’s number for what felt like the hundredth time.“Come on, pick up,” I muttered tightly, my thumb tapping the steering wheel as the line rang—once, twice, then straight to voicemail. I ended the call, running a hand through my hairSomething was wrong. She wouldn’t just ghost me, not after that attack, not after I’d promised her answers about who was behind it.My chest tightened, a mix of worry and frustration bubbling up. I couldn’t sit here doing nothing.I scrolled through my contacts, landing on Blyke—my old mate from the tech side of Wilder Venture

Aaliyah’s POVI staggered to my feet despite my weakness and I lunged at Aurora, willing to fight even though I had no strength at all.I stretched out to snatch the phone from her.“Give me that!” I yelled, my voice cracking with fury and fear. My fingers brushed the edge of the device before she sidestepped, her wicked laugh echoing in the room.“Nice try, sis,” She sneered, dancing back with a grace that made my stomach churn. Her red dress swished as she twirled the phone tauntingly. “You think you can stop me? Look at you—pathetic. This video’s going to trend, Aaliyah. The world’s gonna see the mighty Aaliyah Hayes for the whore she is.”“Stop it, Aurora!” I shouted, my hands balling into fists by my side. “Why are you doing this? What did I ever do to you? We were sisters—twins! How can you hate me this much?”She tilted her head, her blue eyes glinting with malice.“Oh, Aaliyah, you’re so naive. Or have you forgotten? Already? Did you really think I’d let you prance around

  • He Divorced Me, I Marry A Bigger Billionaire!   Chapter 53

Aaliyah’s POVIt was 2:11 PM, the clock on the wall ticked gently, and I sat in the cushioned armchair by the window, cradling Elias in my arms. My son, my tiny miracle. His blonde curls were damp with tears, his blue eyes squeezed shut as he wailed, a high, desperate sound that tugged at my heart. The room was a fragile bubble of light and quiet, the transparent walls offering a breathtaking view of New York City’s skyline—glittering towers piercing the late afternoon sky, a soft haze settling over the streets below. “Shh, my sweet boy,” I murmured softly, trembling with exhaustion but laced with love. I adjusted him against my chest, guiding him to my breast, wincing as he latched on. His tiny mouth sucked hungrily. The pain was sharp at first, a reminder of how new this all was, but it faded into a dull throb as I began to sing a lullaby. My mother used to hum it alot when I was little so it stuck to me.“Hush little baby, don’t you cry, Mama’s gonna sing you a lullaby…” My vo
