Sophia’s POV

“You better explain to me what the fuck is happening right now!”

Tony’s voice roared across the hall, loud enough to make everyone’s head turn back toward us. His veins stood out on his neck, his fists clenched at his sides like he was one wrong breath away from throwing a punch at someone… maybe me. For a second, I couldn’t even breathe. My whole body froze, and all I could hear was the faint humming of the lights above, and my own heart pounding like a drum in my chest.

He looked at me with those sharp, bloodshot eyes like I’d just ruined his entire life. And maybe I had.

“Tony…” I tried to sound calm, but my voice trembled a little. “Let me call the team. I’ll find out right now and get back to you.”

I didn’t even wait for his response. I just stepped aside, walking quickly toward a less crowded corner of the hall. Everyone’s eyes were following me as I could feel them, burning through my back, whispering and judging. It was like every step I took dragged a spotlight a

Mellisa’s POV“You shameless thief! How could you even accept this contract?” Tony’s voice tore through the quiet hall, sharp and venomous. His anger filled the air and for a second, the cameras that had been flashing a moment ago froze mid-click.I didn’t even have to turn around to know who it was. That tone could only belong to Tony. Always loud and always dramatic. And as if his words weren’t enough, Sophia stood right behind him like his shadow with her chin raised and eyes glinting with arrogance. The room went still, that you could practically hear the tension press against the walls. Mr. Joel Jasper, who had been all smiles a few minutes ago, now wore a puzzled look, his brows knitting together in confusion. Josh, on the other hand, stiffened beside me, his hand instinctively brushing against mine that was right on the table…It was more like a quiet warning to stay calm.“You weren’t invited here,” Josh said finally, his voice steady but edged with irritation. “This event has

Tony’s POV“Idiots!” I roared as I slammed the door open and stormed out of my office. My voice echoed down the hallway, sharp and unforgiving. “Do you people even understand what humiliation feels like? Because I just experienced it in front of the entire industry!”The few employees I passed quickly ducked their heads or pretended to look busy. Papers trembled in the hands of a junior engineer as he tried to move out of my way and you know, I didn’t care. I was still seething from that disaster of a conference. The innovation presentation was supposed to be our victory — Morgan Group’s grand moment to reclaim dominance in the robotics sector. Instead, it had turned into a circus act. And the highlight? My rival’s-Melissa’s- robot landing a punch that became the headline of every tech outlet overnight.I reached the secretaries’ office and threw the folder in my hand across the room. Papers scattered midair before landing. “A pile of bolts and excuses!” I spat, my chest rising and fa

Mellisa’s POV“I didn’t program you to hit people,” I said, staring at the robot that stood silently in front of me. Its glassy eyes blinked twice, almost as if it understood my words and felt a tinge of guilt. The lab was quiet with only the soft hum of machines breaking the silence. The innovation conference was over, but the echo of that moment where the robot’s punch landed squarely on Tony’s face still replayed in my head.I couldn’t wrap my mind around it as that wasn’t in the code I programmed it.Robot Dearie lowered its head slightly, like a child caught in the act of doing something wrong. Its metal hands folded together in front of it as if it was trying to apologize without words.I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose. “You’re supposed to protect, not attack. What got into you?”“I did as I wouldn’t let Tony or whatever he calls himself eat his cake and have it back,” a voice said behind me.Even before I turned, I knew it was Josh.In the process of turning, I felt his

Mellisa’s POVThe hall went silent the moment our robot appeared from behind the curtain. And myself couldn't help gushing over this creativity and so you could imagine how others must have felt. For a brief second, I swear you could hear the faint hum of its internal system echoing through the room in a steady, calculated, and confident manner. Then, with one smooth motion, it stepped forward. Each step was so fluid that even I had to blink twice. The way its arms swung naturally by its sides, the way its head turned slightly, scanning the room with those blue optic sensors — it was like watching a human being walk down a runway. There was no stiffness and no mechanical stutter. It just continued walking in grace and control. And as it reached the center of the stage, the spotlight caught the sheen of its titanium skin which was sleek, chrome-silver and polished to perfection. You could mistake it for a real person dressed in a futuristic armor suit. Even the slight tilt of its head

Mellisa’s POV“Behold! Morgan Group’s second-gen AI robot. Forty million dollars’ investment!”Tony’s voice cracked through the microphone, sharp and confident enough to slice the attention in the room right in half. With that, heads turned immediately. All eyes followed his hand as he pointed toward a team of people in sleek uniforms pushing in something covered with a thick white veil.Even before I could clearly see it, the shape gave it away—a humanoid frame, solid shoulders and a hint of metallic edges beneath the fabric. My chest tightened, not from intimidation but from a mix of curiosity and irritation. Theatrics…you know Tony always loved theatrics and it's good that he is giving one to himself, big time.“Whoop wow!” someone shouted, and a few others clapped. The sound of excitement rippled through the crowd. Investors craned their necks and of course, cameras flashed.Tony caught that wave of attention and surfed it like it was his own show. “Developed under chief engineer
