At eight p.m., the person I'd arranged arrived to pick me up.

Under the cover of night, they smuggled me out of the Manos family estate without a sound.

As the car moved forward, the silhouette of the villa shrank behind us. Just then, Carl called. His voice was cold and sharp.

"I've convinced Lucy not to call the police. But the condition is you kneel and apologize."

"Reily, don't push your luck!"
