Chapter 52

Lindy took the parcel and hailed a taxi to the hotel that was booked for her. She was paranoid after getting the parcel and kept looking around to see if she was not followed. Even when she was in the taxi, she kept looking out the window and would hold her breath each time there was a car behind them and wonder if it was following them.

The taxi finally came to a stop at the hotel, and she hurried inside. After doing all the paperwork she went up to her room. There was a dress on the bed and an invitation card to some fundraiser. There was another note.

‘He likes women, especially sophisticated ones. Have your hair in an updo style and play your part well.’ That was the message on the card and Lindy could not help but think this was a trap to finally get her killed.

At the same time, she wanted to go back so she can get a status report on her children. It has been six months of not knowing and it was killing her. She desperately wanted to know what was going on in the outside world
