Adriana's POV.

I was seriously starting to regret asking Luca to bring me along. He had disappeared into a meeting, and I was stuck alone in his office, bored out of my mind. At least back at the mansion, I had Paige to keep me company.

I spun slowly in Luca’s chair, letting out a sigh, when the door burst open and he walked in, looking a little tense.

"Can you wait here a little longer? I have official business to take care of," he said.

I didn’t need to a

Luca’s POV (Flashback) Ten years ago. I didn’t want to be there. That was the first thing I remember. Father had insisted Vincent and I follow him to visit one of his old friends and business partners. I didn’t care who the man was. I didn’t care about the meeting. All I wanted was to stay home. Locked in my room. Away from people. Away from expectations. But with my father, there was no arguing. So I came. We arrived at a mansion not too long after. It was big, clean and expensive but not like ours. Vincent walked beside Father like always, quiet, composed… perfect. Always trying so hard to be the good son. I walked behind them, hands in my pockets, already bored. The moment we stepped inside, I stopped listening. Their voices faded into the background as they gree

  • Heart Of The Mafia    Chapter 39.

Luca's POV.I had no idea where Adriana was and that alone was enough to make my chest feel tight.Something that didn’t sit right in my stomach.I had been trying to tell myself she was fine. That she just needed space. My hand tightened around my phone as I tried her number again.Once. Twice. Three times. No answer. Not even a ring.Just that cold automated voice telling me the number could not be reached. She had switched it off. That made my jaw clench harder.I stood in the middle of the room, phone still in my hand, staring at nothing. My mind kept running through possibilities I didn’t want to consider. What if Vincent pushed her too far? What if she finally broke? What if she left the mansion in anger and something happened on the way? There was another thought too.One I didn’t like at all.The past. The fact that she

  • Heart Of The Mafia    Chapter 38

Adriana's POV.The moment I stepped into that living room, I already knew what I was going to do.I had thought about it over and over again. For years, I had tried to be what my father wanted.Quiet. Obedient. Perfect.Hoping that maybe… just maybe… one day he would look at me differently. With pride. With love. With something. But that day never came.It never would.Because I had seen it. The way he looked at me.Since I was a child.Cold. Distant.Like I was something he tolerated… not something he loved. He hated me.And deep down…I think he wished I was the one who never made it out alive.A tight knot formed in my chest, but I pushed it down.Because right now…This wasn’t about him. This was about me.About my life.About my child. My hand moved instinctively to my stomach.I wasn’t going to bring my baby into a home like that.A home filled with lies. With betrayal. With pain.Vincent had made sure of that. The thought of Stella made my chest tighten again.Pregnant and poss

Vincent's POV.I had just stormed out of the hospital, and the anger inside me refused to settle. Each step I took down the hallway felt heavier, sharper. The sound of my shoes against the floor echoed louder than usual, almost like the building itself could feel the tension rolling off me.My jaw was clenched so tight it hurt.Luca.The name alone made something twist violently inside my chest.Who the hell did he think he was?The image replayed in my mind again. My hand around Adriana’s neck. Her struggling. Then—Him.Running in like some hero and punching me, like I was nothing. My hands curled into fists as I stepped outside, the cold air hitting my face. It did nothing to calm me down.Nothing.Because that wasn’t even the part that bothered me the most.No.It was the way she ran to him. The way she held onto him like she needed him. Like he was the one she trusted. Like he was the one who could protect her and the way he held her back…Tight. Possessive. My stomach turned.Co

  • Heart Of The Mafia    Chapter 36.

Adriana's POV.The moment I stepped into the mansion, I knew I couldn’t stay there any longer. Everything about this place suddenly felt wrong. It didn’t feel like home anymore, then again it stopped feeling like home, long time ago.I didn’t say a word as I walked in. The staff greeted me like they always did, polite and careful, but I ignored every single one of them.I didn’t have the energy.Didn’t have the patience.Didn’t have the strength to pretend everything was fine.Because it wasn’t.Not even close.I walked straight upstairs, my steps quick, almost desperate. Straight to our bedroom. The moment I stepped inside, I froze. For a second, I just stood there, staring at everything. The bed. The sheets. The pillows. Memories flooded in all at once, both the good ones and the bad ones.A bitter feeling settled in my chest.I let out a shaky breath and forced myself to move.I walked straight to the wardrobe and pulled it open, then I started packing.Clothes were pulled out and

  • Heart Of The Mafia    Chapter 35.

Luca's POV.As I walked down the hallway toward my father’s private room, my steps were steady, controlled. Then I saw them.Vincent. Adriana. At first, it didn’t register properly. My eyes caught the movement… the way they stood too close… the tension in the air. Then I saw his hand around her neck.Tight.Too tight. Her feet were barely touching the ground.Everything inside me went still for half a second. Then it exploded.Rage.Pure. Violent. Uncontrolled.I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate.I moved fast. Before Vincent could even react, my fist connected with his face.Hard.The impact echoed in the hallway as his body staggered back and hit the ground. For a second, everything froze. Then Adriana moved. She ran straight into me. Her hands grabbed onto my shirt, her body shaking as she buried her face into my chest. She was crying and that… that did something to me.Something deeper than anger.Instinctively, my arms wrapped around her.Tight. Protective.“It’s okay,” I said, my

Many years ago…The hospital room was filled with tension. The sharp smell of antiseptic hung in the air, mixing with the sound of hurried footsteps and quiet, urgent voices. On the bed, Anna Russo cried out in pain. Her fingers clutched the sheets tightly, her body trembling with every wave that

Adriana's POV.I had to wait. Not just for a few minutes… but long enough to be sure. Long enough to convince myself he was really asleep.Vincent had always been a light sleeper. The kind of man who woke at the smallest sound, the slightest movement. So I lay there, still as possible, my eyes clos

Adriana's POV.Paige had gone out to the supermarket to restock the kitchen, and I insisted on going with her. The mansion felt like a cage, too quiet, too empty, and far too suffocating. I needed air, movement, something to distract me from the mess of my life.At first, Paige was hesitant. She ge

Adriana's POV.I stretched out my hand across the bed and it was empty not like I expected him to be there, I was just being hopeful.Vincent hadn’t come home last night, again.I stared at the ceiling, trying not to feel disappointed. I should’ve known better. When he came to me, full of apologies
