Luca's POV.

As I walked down the hallway toward my father’s private room, my steps were steady, controlled.

Then I saw them.

Vincent. Adriana.

At first, it didn’t register properly.

My eyes caught the movement… the way they stood too close… the tension in the air. Then I saw his hand around her neck.

Tight.

Too tight.

Her feet were barely touching the ground.

Everything inside me went still for half a second. Then it exploded.

Rage.

Pure. Violent. Uncontrolled.

I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitat

Adriana's POV.The moment I stepped into the mansion, I knew I couldn’t stay there any longer. Everything about this place suddenly felt wrong. It didn’t feel like home anymore, then again it stopped feeling like home, long time ago.I didn’t say a word as I walked in. The staff greeted me like they always did, polite and careful, but I ignored every single one of them.I didn’t have the energy.Didn’t have the patience.Didn’t have the strength to pretend everything was fine.Because it wasn’t.Not even close.I walked straight upstairs, my steps quick, almost desperate. Straight to our bedroom. The moment I stepped inside, I froze. For a second, I just stood there, staring at everything. The bed. The sheets. The pillows. Memories flooded in all at once, both the good ones and the bad ones.A bitter feeling settled in my chest.I let out a shaky breath and forced myself to move.I walked straight to the wardrobe and pulled it open, then I started packing.Clothes were pulled out and

Uncontrolled.I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate.I moved fast. Before Vincent could even react, my fist connected with his face.Hard.The impact echoed in the hallway as his body staggered back and hit the ground. For a second, everything froze. Then Adriana moved. She ran straight into me. Her hands grabbed onto my shirt, her body shaking as she buried her face into my chest. She was crying and that… that did something to me.Something deeper than anger.Instinctively, my arms wrapped around her.Tight. Protective.“It’s okay,” I said, my

Vincent's POV.Last night was a mess. There was no other way to describe it.Adriana and I had argued. She had seen me walking out of Stella’s apartment and then the lipstick mark on my cheek. This was all just part of Stella's manipulative streakMy jaw tightened as I thought about it again. What was she even doing there in the first place? That question kept bothering me, but deep down, I knew it didn’t matter. It didn’t change anything. The damage was already done.Still… I told myself I could fix it.I always fixed things.Adriana would calm down. She always did.I just needed time but even as that thought crossed my mind, something about it didn’t feel right. If she knew everything, I don't think I can simply smooth over with words or gifts.I woke up alone. That alone was enough to put me in a bad mood.Adriana hadn’t come back to the room last night. At first, I told myself she was just being dramatic. She probably went to one of the guest rooms to cool off but morning came… and

Adriana’s POVThe ride back to the mansion felt endless.I didn’t speak.I didn’t look at Luca.I didn’t even trust my voice enough to try.Everything inside me felt… heavy.Like my chest was carrying too much at once. The moment the car came to a stop, I opened the door immediately and stepped out without waiting.I just needed to be alone.I walked straight into the mansion, my steps quick, almost rushed.“Welcome back, Mrs...” Lisa’s voice barely reached me before I raised my hand, stopping her.“I’m not in the mood,” I said quietly. My voice wasn’t loud, but it was enough. She went silent immediately.I didn’t even look at her.“Adriana… will you be okay?” Luca’s voice came from behind me.I paused for a second, then I kept walking.I didn’t answer.I couldn’t.Because if I did… I might break. The moment I stepped into my room, I closed the door behind me and leaned against it.My eyes shut tightly. For a second, everything hit me all over again.Stella.The way she smiled at me.

Adriana's POV.I was furious. Not just angry or hurt.Furious.The kind of anger that sits deep in your chest and burns slowly, mixing with pain until you can’t tell which one hurts more. How could he say that to me?After everything we had just fixed.I thought we had moved past it. I really did. I believed him. I believed in us but now… I felt stupid.Stupid for forgiving him.Stupid for trusting him.Stupid for thinking things could ever really be okay.I wrapped my arms around myself as I walked back toward the waiting area. When I entered the waiting room, my steps slowed.Luca was there.Sitting quietly, leaning back in his chair, one arm resting on the armrest, the other loosely on his lap. His head was slightly tilted down, like he was lost in thought. For a moment, I stopped.I considered turning back.I didn’t think I had the strength to be alone in the same space as him. Not after what Vincent had just said. But before I could turn...“Adriana.”My name.Soft, but enough to

Vincent's POV.I had to drive myself.Normally, I never went anywhere alone. There was always a driver. Always security. Always eyes watching, reporting and questioning but tonight, I couldn’t afford that.My grip tightened slightly on the steering wheel as I drove through the quiet streets. The city lights blurred past me, but I barely noticed them. My mind was somewhere else entirely. At the hospital. With Adriana. With my father. Then… with her.Stella.My jaw clenched.Everything had started falling apart the moment I slept with her to get back at Adriana. I shouldn't have let it happen again. I should have cut her off completely after the first time. I should have never let it get this far but I did. Now I was here fixing a problem I created or at least I was trying to.The thought of Adriana crossed my mind again. The look on her face earlier. The disappointment. The hurt. The worst part? She had no idea.A bitter breath left my lips.“Just handle this,” I muttered to myself. “

Adriana’s POV.It had been three days since Paige left. Three days and the mansion already felt different. It was strange how one person could make such a big difference. Paige was just a maid to everyone else, but to me, she had been more than that. She had been my only comfort in this house. The

Adriana’s POV.Don Moretti walked toward me slowly, his presence alone enough to shift the atmosphere in the room.He didn’t even glance at Vincent, that alone said a lot.His eyes were fixed on me, sharp and observant, like he was trying to read something beneath the surface.“Are you okay?” he as

Many years ago…The hospital room was filled with tension. The sharp smell of antiseptic hung in the air, mixing with the sound of hurried footsteps and quiet, urgent voices. On the bed, Anna Russo cried out in pain. Her fingers clutched the sheets tightly, her body trembling with every wave that

Adriana’s POV.The walls of the mansion felt closer every day, like they were slowly closing in on me, suffocating me without mercy. Everything was quiet… too quiet. The kind of silence that made your thoughts louder than they should be and mine wouldn’t stop.Being idle was get
