I sat with Brianna for a while, the shadow of Beau disappearing down the hall a ways. Fingers trailing through her hair, a heady exhale releasing from her. I soaked in the beauty of her ultimate resignation, of the pain, fear, anger, and betrayal handed to me like a sacrifice. All of her faces were breathtaking, this one however was the most at peace and I wanted to watch her dance with that peace and writhe within that sinful ecstasy with weightless transcendent abandon.

I pulled her hair gently at her nape, raising her eyes to mine. She blinked up at me, those swamp green orbs rimmed in churning navy storms, the silver light of that magnificent power she ruled, a halo within them.

“Ma Sha, are you sure you want to do this? Because there's no turning back once we get so far,” the grit in my voice was evident even though my words were soft.

“Yes,” her voice was soft yet steady and sure.
