Chapter 28

I woke up to a throbbing headache the next day. It felt like someone was drumming my head with spoons. I looked around and realized I wasn't at my apartment. An uninvited memory reminded me of some of the events of last night, particularly how Mia cleared our misunderstandings.

I gulped down, wondering if he was still here. A smile formed on my lips as I got up from the bed, thinking about all the things I would tell him when I see him.

I walked towards the living room and looked for him. Then I searched the kitchen, but he wasn't there either. Instead, on the dining table, there was a huge bowl of soup and an envelope beneath it.

With a sinking heart, I opened the envelope and saw a letter in his hand.
