**ARTHUR'S POV**

I stared at Lucy’s message. Father, I’m returning.

My fingers tightened around the phone. Then another thought crossed my mind. I quickly typed. I hope you’re coming alone.

Her reply came moments later. Yes. I’m only coming to pick up my credentials, then I’ll return to Canada.

I leaned back in my chair. Canada. So she still intended to return to Brian. I clenched my jaw. No. I would never allow that to happen. Once Lucy stepped back into this house, she was not leaving again.

**LUCY'S POV**My father stood in front of me, his head lowered. “I just want you to forgive me.”I stared at him. For years, I had imagined this moment. I had imagined him realizing what he had done. I had imagined him regretting every decision that had torn my life apart. But now that it was happening, I didn't know what to say.Brian's hand remained wrapped around mine. My father took another step toward me. Then, before I could react, he dropped to his knees. “Father!” I moved back in shock. He looked up at me. “Please, Lucy.” His voice cracked. “I know I have no right to ask you for forgiveness. I made terrible choices, and I hurt you deeply.”My eyes burned. “I can't pretend none of it happened, and there were times I hated you.”He nodded. “I deserve that.”I took a slow breath. “But you're still my father.”His eyes lifted. I stepped closer. “I forgive you.”He stared at me as if he hadn't expected those words. “But forgiveness doesn't mean I will forget what happened.”I exte

*"LUCY'S POV**A week had passed since the Vance family stormed out of the Davidson Estate. Brian, my son, and I had remained there. The past seven days had been strange. My father barely spoke to me. Whenever we crossed paths, he would either look away or find an excuse to leave the room. He was even less comfortable seeing me with my son. But I didn't care anymore. I had spent too much of my life worrying about what my father wanted from me.One afternoon, I sat in my room watching my son sleep in his crib when Brian walked in. He closed the door behind him. “You've been quiet,” he said. I looked at him. “So have you.” He smiled faintly and sat beside me. “Are you worried about tomorrow?” I knew exactly what he meant. “The debt?” He nodded. I looked down at my hands. “Fifty million dollars is a lot of money, Brian.” “I know.” “You're really going to pay it?” He looked at me as though the answer had never been in doubt. “I gave him my word.”I swallowed. “But you don't have to do th

She was going to marry Julian, whether she liked it or not.I picked up my phone and called Garrison. “She’s coming home,” I said the moment he answered. “Lucy will be here tonight.”There was a brief silence. “I want you and your family to come over for dinner. We can celebrate her return and discuss the marriage.”“That sounds like a good idea,” Garrison replied.I ended the call and looked toward the clock. This time, I would make sure Lucy stayed. At exactly four in the afternoon, the Vance

Brian stood near the bedroom window, watching the snow fall across the grounds of his family’s estate.Lucy sat on the edge of the bed, holding their newborn against her chest. She had been quiet for several minutes, and Brian could tell exactly what was on her mind.“I’m doing this because of the love we share,” Brian said. “If not for that, your father honestly didn’t deserve to be forgiven.”Lucy looked up at him.Brian turned from the window.“I haven’t forgotten what he did to you. Sending you away while you were pregnant, taking your phone, cutting you off from me, and making you face everything alone…” His jaw tightened. “I haven’t forgotten any of it.”“I know.”“But you want to see him.” Brian sighed. “And if seeing your father will make you happy, then I’ll go with you.”Lucy slowly stood. She walked toward him, wrapped her arms around his waist, and kissed him. When she pulled away, her eyes were already filled with tears.“Thank you, baby. I will never take this love for g

Arthur Davidson stared at his phone. The transaction notification remained on the screen. $100,000 received. He checked the account number again—his corporate account. The money was real. Arthur slowly lowered himself into his leather chair, his eyes fixed on the screen. “One hundred thousand dollars…” He had expected Brian to argue. Perhaps beg for more time. Maybe even disappear after making that arrogant threat. Instead, the boy had asked for his account details and sent the money, just like that. Arthur's brows pulled together. “How?” The question slipped from his mouth. “How did that boy get this kind of money?” Brian had been his sales representative. Then his daughter's driver. Arthur had dismissed him as an insignificant young man who had been lucky enough to get close to Lucy. Yet the transfer had arrived without hesitation. Arthur opened the transaction details again. No error. No delay. No indication that the money had come from a loan. His mind went back to Brian's

  • Heiress Hidden Obsession    The Call and Reconing

The door to the master suite swung inward with a soft sigh, revealing a room that looked less like a recovery space and more like a private sanctuary. Downy cashmere throws swallowed the edges of a sprawling, low-slung king-sized bed, and a handcrafted mahogany cot stood near the bay window, catching the pale, filtered glare of a Canadian winter afternoon.Lucy stood frozen just inside the threshold, her breath hitching in her throat.Brian’s mother stepped up beside her, folding warm hands over Lucy’s tense shoulders. Her eyes were already shining with quiet emotion. "We were so terrified for you, sweetheart. But you're safe now. You're home."Lucy looked around, her eyes stinging with a sudden, traitorous heat. In her father's house, every square inch was measured by leverage, utility, and cold corporate optics. Nothing existed just to feel good. Here, every texture whispered of shelter and intention. "It's... it's incredible," she whispered, her voice rough. "Thank you.""Rest now,
