“I have to go now. My cab is waiting. I’ll be back when Dad wakes up,” Pearl whispered to Keith and Briana. They nodded while smiling. Pearl had just met Dr. Louis at his office and was ready to work.

“Yes, you better go. It’s been too late for your work.”

Pearl gloomily peeked at John, who was still in his room with Sandra. Sandra didn’t want to talk to Pearl at all. She blamed her for every bad thing that happened to her husband. Keith caressed his sister’s arm to console her. He knew that she was so sad about their dad.

“Dad will be fine. I think he will be getting better soon. He will be delighted when he finds that you came here.” Briana grinned wider and gave Pearl a warm hug. Pearl forced herself to smile at her siblings. It was hard to say about her wedding this evening with Taggart while the family was in a bad state.  She has no heart to tell them.
