97-Stepbrother Sacrificed Himself For Me.

Lavender:

I turned on instinct, bolting toward my room. If I could just grab my phone—

“Hey!” one of them shouted.

Heavy footsteps thundered behind me. The same manor that I felt was the safest place because nothing and nobody could walk in without Nikon’s permission was now filled with the noise of heavy breathing from both me and the intruders.

I stumbled through the hallway, my bare feet slipping on the marble. My heart pounded so loudly it drowned out everything. Just a few more steps. My door. My phone. Safety. And then Nikon would take care of them. But it wasn’t going to be that easy.

A hand caught my arm, and sudden panic hit me even harder. I screamed, twisting, trying to shake him off. He yanked me back, and I crashed into the wall. Pain exploded in my shoulder. I clawed at his gloved hands when he tried to hold me again, kicking blindly.

I just knew I had to put up a fight, no matter what—hit him where it hurt. In fact, I needed to hit him where it hurt the most.
