Elara woke to the sound of birds chirping just outside her window.

She blinked slowly, rubbing her eyes, confused at how late it was. Normally, she wakes up before sunrise before other servants wake up, but today her body felt too heavy, too warm, like she was under the sunlight she couldn't shake off.

Her stomach had strange feelings and the moments she sat up. She barely made it to the basin before she runs over, coughing and gagging, but nothing came up. Only a bitter taste in her mouth and the sharp sting of shame in her chest.

She wiped her mouth with her sleeve, frowning.

This wasn’t normal.

But Elara didn’t question it much. She never really did. She just assumed she was unlucky, maybe she ate something bad, or caught a cold from the chill in the air.

Still, it kept happening.

She felt lightheaded most mornings. Her appetite changed by the hour. One moment she wanted nothing but dry toast, the next she craved berries so badly she nearly cried when the kitchen had none left.

And the tears…oh, the tears.

She cried when she dropped a spoon. She cried when she saw a rabbit limp past the garden with an injured leg. She cried when the laundry line broke and her only clean dress fell into the mud.

Her fellow servants whispered behind her back.

“Elara’s acting strange again.”

“Did someone curse her?”

“She’s always been a little… slow, but now she’s worse.”

Elara heard them, but didn’t say anything. She never did. Instead, she kept her head down and tried to act normal, even when everything inside her felt wrong.

She remembered what the healer said a week ago.

“Come back. Alone.”

Elara hadn’t gone. She was too scared.

The old she-wolf had looked at her in a way that made her skin prickle. As if she knew something Elara didn’t. As if she saw inside her.

And deep down, Elara felt like something was changing. Her body wasn’t hers anymore. Her scent had shifted, stronger, sweeter. She caught some of the male wolves sniffing the air when she passed. Their eyes lingered too long.

One evening, she stood alone in the courtyard after dinner. The sun had dipped below the trees, leaving the sky streaked with purple and gold. Her hand drifted to her belly again.

She wasn’t sure why she kept doing that.

It didn’t hurt. It wasn’t swollen. But there was a strange warmth there. Like something soft was resting inside her. Quiet. Waiting.

“Maybe I’m just getting sick,” she whispered to herself.

But even her voice sounded unsure.

The next day, the head maid caught her dropping a tray in the hallway.

“Elara!” she barked. “You’re clumsier than usual. What’s wrong with you?”

“I’m sorry,” Elara mumbled. “I didn’t sleep well.”

The woman narrowed her eyes. “You’ve been pale for weeks. You need to see the healer again. Go now, before you break anything else.”

Elara didn’t argue. She was too tired to protest. So she walked, slow and quiet, toward the healer’s hut at the edge of the forest.

The door creaked open before she even knocked.

The old she-wolf stood waiting, arms crossed, sharp eyes watching her like a hawk.

“Took you long enough.”

Elara gave her a small bow. “Sorry… I didn’t know if you meant it.”

“I did,” the healer said. “Come inside.”

Elara stepped in, her bare feet brushing over cool wooden floors. The room smelled of herbs, smoke, and something sweet, lavender maybe. Or honey. She wasn’t sure.

The healer motioned to a stool near the fire.

“Sit.”

Elara obeyed, tugging at the hem of her dress nervously.

The healer didn’t speak at first. She just moved around the room, picking up bowls, dried plants, and jars with strange liquids inside. Then she came back and placed a gentle hand on Elara’s wrist.

“Breathe.”

Elara did.

The healer listened, sniffed, then touched her forehead. Her fingers were cold but firm.

After a long silence, the woman stepped back, her expression unreadable.

“Elara.”

“Yes?”

“You’ve been feeling sick, haven’t you?”

Elara hesitated. “A little.”

“Headaches? Hunger changes? Smell sensitivity?”

“Yes…”

“Tired. Crying easily. Strange dreams?”

Elara blinked. “How did you know?”

The healer’s gaze softened, just a little. “Because I’ve seen this before.”

Elara tilted her head, confused. “What is it? Do I have a fever? A curse?”

The healer almost laughed. Almost.

“No, child. You’re not cursed.” She paused, then spoke slowly, as if choosing each word with care. “You’re pregnant.”

Silence.

Elara stared at her.

The word floated in the air, strange and too big to grasp.

“Pregnant?”

The healer nodded.

Elara shook her head. “But… that’s not possible. I’m not mated. I’ve never…”

She stopped.

Her heart dropped.

She remembered.

The festival.

The masked Alpha.

The heat.

The night that felt like a dream.

Her hands flew to her mouth.

“No,” she whispered. “No, no, no…”

The healer placed a warm hand on her shoulder. “It happens. More often than you’d think. Especially during Moon Festivals. Alphas and omegas… their instincts can override reason. And if the bond sparks…” She didn’t finish.

Elara’s eyes filled with tears. “But I don’t even know who he was. I didn’t get his name. He wore a mask.”

“Then he likely doesn’t know your name either.”

Elara’s stomach twisted again, but not from sickness.

From fear.

“What do I do?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

The healer looked at her with pity. “For now… rest. Eat well. Your body needs strength. I’ll give you some herbs to ease the sickness. But this child…” She paused. “It’s growing fast. That means it’s strong. Likely Alpha-blooded.”

Elara didn’t know what to say.

Alpha-blooded.

She was just an omega servant. Unmated. Powerless. And now… pregnant.

With a stranger’s pup.

She walked back to her room in a daze, her mind a blur of fear, confusion, and something else she didn’t understand yet.

Her hand shifted to her belly again, little thing growing inside her, alive and Quiet.

  • Her Alpha, Her Rules    The Lonely Hut

Rowan stumbled through the dark woods, every step heavier than the last. Blood soaked his fur, dripping into the snow, leaving a red trail behind him. His breath came ragged, his chest rising and falling like it was on fire. But still, he pushed forward.“For her,” he whispered again, forcing his body to move.At last, he saw her. Elara. She stood outside the hut, her eyes wide with fear as she caught sight of him.“Rowan!” she cried, rushing to him. Her hands reached out, trembling, catching his weight before he could collapse fully to the ground. “Oh gods what happened?”Rowan tried to smile, though blood stained his lips. “I told you I’d come back,” he whispered hoarsely. She lowered him gently to the ground, tears already streaming down her face. “You’re hurt. You’re hurt so badly… hold on, I’ll get herbs…I’ll…..”His hand caught hers, weak but firm enough to stop her. “No, Elara. Listen.” His eyes searched hers, desperate and soft all at once. “I don’t… I don’t have much time.”“

Rowan ran through the woods, following the hunter's scent. He knew who it was even before he saw the dark shadow waiting for him beneath the twisted old tree.It was Kade.A brutal wolf from Rowan's past. Strong. Cruel. And obsessed with Elara."I knew you'd come," Kade sneered, stepping into the moonlight. His eyes glowed yellow, filled with sick hunger. "Where is she? Where is my little omega?"Rowan bared his teeth. "She's not yours. She never was."Kade laughed. "She will be. I’ll find her. And when I do, I’ll cage her. I’ll make her beg. I’ll fuck her until she forgets you ever existed."Rowan's rage boiled. He growled, low and dangerous. "You won't touch her. Not while I'm breathing."Kade stepped closer. "You always acted like a hero. Like she’d ever pick you. But she rejected me in front of the whole pack. She shamed me. I’ll make her pay for that."Rowan leapt.Their bodies clashed with a loud crack. Teeth snapped. Claws tore through fur and flesh. Rowan's shoulder burned fro

  • Her Alpha, Her Rules    Rowan Sacrifice

Elara woke up suddenly with a heavy chest and stomach pain, a strange kind of silence that made her skin crawl. There were no bird sounds, no windy air.She sat up slowly, her blanket slipping off her shoulders. Her back ached, and her legs felt numb from sleeping on the hard ground. She looked around. The trees stood tall and still, too still for her comfort.Rowan stood near the edge of the bushes, tense and alert. His back was straight, his body stiff, and his head turned slightly like he was listening to something in the silence."Rowan?" Elara's voice came out in a whisper. He didn’t turn around. "Stay quiet," he said. "Something’s wrong."Her heart skipped a beat. She clutched her belly protectively. The fear grew overnight or maybe that’s just how it felt. The baby had been more active than ever, kicking and moving, as if it, too, sensed danger.Rowan sniffed the air. His nose twitched, and his eyes narrowed."What is it?" she asked, her voice trembling. He looked back at her t

  • Her Alpha, Her Rules    The Wound

Elara woke slowly, her eyes blinking open to soft golden light. She wasn’t freezing. For once, she wasn’t shivering. She blinked again and realized she was wrapped in a thick blanket, tucked against the warm wall of a cave. A small fire crackled nearby, giving off just enough heat to chase away the chill. And Rowan... Rowan was sitting at the mouth of the cave, one knee bent, his back to her. He was holding a knife in one hand and a long branch in the other, sharpening it into a spear.Elara pushed herself up slowly. Her muscles ached, and her belly felt tight. But it was better than yesterday.“Rowan?” she said softly. He turned around fast, his eyes lighting up the second he saw her awake. “You’re up.”She nodded. “What time is it?”“Late morning. You’ve been sleeping peacefully,You needed it.”He stood and walked over, kneeling beside her. She noticed then his left arm was wrapped with a strip of cloth. The edge of it was stained red.“Rowan,” she gasped, reaching for him. “You’re

  • Her Alpha, Her Rules    The Chase

Elara didn’t know how long she had been walking. The sun had barely risen, but her body already felt like it was giving up. Her legs were weak, her feet hurt, and her back ached more with each step. The air in the forest was cold, but her skin was hot. She was sweating, even though the wind bit at her face like ice.She stopped for a moment, leaning against a tree.Rowan turned back. “Elara,” he said gently, “we need to keep moving.”“I know,” she whispered, panting. “Just… give me a second.”Rowan looked around, ears alert. “We don’t have time. They’re close.”And then it happened.A long, low howl cut through the forest. Not the sound of a normal wolf.It was a hunter. And it was calling others.Elara’s heart jumped in her chest. Her hands flew to her belly protectively. Her legs moved on their own now, fueled by fear.“They found us,” Rowan said, voice tight. “Run. Now.”Elara didn’t ask questions. She ran.Branches scratched her arms, roots pulled at her feet, but she didn’t stop.

  • Her Alpha, Her Rules    In the Cave

The forest seemed endless. The trees stood tall like guards, bare branches scratching at the sky. The cold wind made Elara’s face sting. Her legs felt like they were made of stone, and every breath hurt.Rowan ran ahead, glancing back to make sure she was still following. His face was tight with worry.“Elara, we’re almost there,” he called softly. “Hold on.”But Elara could barely hear him. Her head felt heavy, her vision blurry. Her body was shaking, not just from the cold but from how weak she had become. Her hands kept going to her belly, as if holding it would give her strength. Her boots slipped on wet leaves, and she fell to her knees. The ground felt like ice.“Elara!” Rowan rushed back to help her up. “Don’t stop now. Please.”“I… I can’t,” she breathed, tears stinging her eyes. “I’m too tired.”Rowan helped her to her feet. “Just a little more. There’s a den up ahead. We can rest there. I promise.”Somehow, she forced her feet to move again. The world swayed around her, and
