Chapter 15

Caleb –

I was so exhausted, Sam’s cold body curled up next to mine. I shifted my body with the last ounces of energy I had for her to get closer to me. I cringed when her cold skin rushed with mine, this was a new version of a girlfriend’s cold feet on your leg.

“I’m okay.”

I could hear her sobs coming out, I didn’t want her to feel this way. I knew that baby vamps could get out of control very easily and considering three days ago she didn’t even know about wolves or vampires she was taking the news very well.

I did my best to wrap my arms around her to try to comfort her. Her body shivered with her sobs, I pulled her face up to look at me. I needed to see her blue eyes looking back at me. She refused at first but when she did, she had streams of tears smudging her face. With my thumb, I brushed her lips, oh how I loved those lips.

“Can we lay somewhere more comfortable?” my voice was quiet and weak.

“I’ll help you up.” She scrambled to her feet with lightning speed.

I reached up to
