Alex

We arrive after midnight at the Arcane Pack, in the forest just outside Northumberland.

I hate to admit it, but it’s fucking impressive. I understand why Father chose this pack.

The grounds are surrounded by a large, impenetrable wall. Their Alpha’s Hall is a massive fortress. Stone walls, towering windows, and an air of quiet dominance that seeps into every corner.

The pack emblem looms before me, carved into the massive wooden doors of the Alpha’s Hall. Intricate, ancient, and pulsing with quiet power. A circular design, laced with twisting golden metalwork and symbols I don’t fully understand. At its heart, a swirling core of emerald green, as if the sigil itself is alive and watching.

The outer rings bear crescent moons and symbols, blending werewolf tradition with something older. Something arcane. The craftsmanship is masterful, every line and curve precise, deliberate. This isn’t just a symbol. It’s a warning.

The Arcane Pack doesn’t just rule with strength; they rule with knowledge, with secrets.

I’ve seen plenty of pack emblems before—bold, battle-worn crests declaring dominance. But this… this is different. It doesn’t demand respect. It doesn’t need to.

It already owns it.

Even the warriors stationed outside hold themselves with a discipline I don’t often see outside our pack. The fifty warriors that their Alpha has already sent to our pack will make a massive difference.

Their strength is undeniable.

But something is off.

The White Wolf, as they call him, is nowhere to be seen.

The Beta female, Talia, I think, greets us instead, explaining that their Alpha will introduce himself in the morning.

I don’t fucking like it.

An Alpha should be here to greet his guests, especially guests of our status.

He should be standing at his door, ready to show his bride exactly why his pack is worth her time. Instead, he’s holed up in his room.

I narrow my eyes as the Beta finishes the formalities.

“Tell your Alpha we appreciate his hospitality,” I say, even though I don’t mean it.

Talia nods, a weird smirk crossing her lips. “Of course.”

Usually, that flirtatious smile of hers and the way she was openly checking me out would have tempted me to invite her into my room. After all, I haven't had sex in nearly a week. I need a fucking release.

But not tonight. Not with her.

As I settle into my room, my thoughts keep circling back to that moment earlier.

To that woman.

She was barely visible through the darkened glass, but I could see the glowing eyes of her wolf. She felt the bond too… and it was fucking strong.

I almost shifted right there in the driveway, my instincts roaring to go to her, to claim her. But before I could even move, one of the Arcane warriors spoke to me, and when I turned back, she was gone. I wanted to strangle the warrior with my bare hands, but I was called into this ridiculously large, eerie mansion.

And I've been on edge ever since.

When I saw her, something in me shifted. Like an invisible thread pulling taut.

I need to find her, fuck I will find her in the morning. Hunt her down if I need to.

It's fucking strange.

Something about her seemed so familiar.

Images flickers through my mind—of a wild girl. Bright. Mischievous. She used to chase me and Nate through the woods, daring us into trouble, laughing as she outran us. I can still remember her stubborn little pout, the way she used to glare at us when we teased her. The girl who turned into a gorgeous teenager. Fierce, fiery. Looks to draw boys in, and an attitude that made sure they didn't get close.

But it can’t be her.

There’s no way she’d still be here.

Not after what happened.

Not after she killed her father, and a new Alpha took his place.

The fucking White Wolf.

The same Alpha that my sister is supposed to marry.

A bitter taste rises in my mouth.

I sit up abruptly, shoving the thought aside and leaving my room. I find Lyra fussing over herself in the mirror, some kind of blue skincare face mask on her skin. Looking like a fucking smurf.

“Hey, kiddo.”

She doesn’t even look at me.

“Don’t you think I’m a bit too old to be called that? I am getting engaged tomorrow, after all.”

My chest tightens.

“I dont give a shit. You know you'll always be my baby sister.”

“And you'll always be the damn annoying older brother who insists on babying me.” She shoots back, "You know, if we shifted and sparred, I would hand you your ass.”

I laugh, and she puffs her cheeks out in annoyance, looking oddly cute for such a smartass.

“Sure thing, kiddo. Speaking of which, when do I get to see you in your big, bad wolf form? Father says it’s quite a sight.” I wink at her, putting my hands in my pockets and leaning against the doorframe.

She rolls her eyes before turning back to the mirror.

“Soon, now get out. I need to figure out what to do with my hair tomorrow.”

Something twists in my gut.

"Are you actually excited about meeting him?” I ask, disbelieving.

"Of course. I deserve a powerful mate. Besides, this pack is amazing. Just imagine running it.” Her voice is confident, but when she turns to me, the light in her eyes dims. “Not to mention,  Father needs the warriors. Those disgusting beasts are strong.”

She’s right, but it doesn’t make it any less fucked up.

I want to tell her we’ll figure something else out. There are plenty of other Alphas with daughters. If we really have to, we can arrange for one of them to become my Luna.

But she overheard the conversation.

Father flat-out refused.

‘When the time is right,’ he said.

What the fuck does that even mean? I’m twenty-fucking-six, without a mate, and instead of using me to create an alliance, he would rather sell off my sister, who just turned twenty-one. Shifted for the first time, less than a month ago.

And since my younger brother Nate isn’t the Alpha-Heir, another Alpha wouldn’t marry off his daughter if there’s no chance of her becoming a Luna.

Meanwhile, Father is refusing to hand down the title of Alpha to me until I am married.

It’s one big fucked up mess.

But before I can reply to her, I hear it.

A high-pitched, screeching howl pierces through the silent night air.

The hair on the back of my neck rises. The howl is distant, yet it sends a chill through my blood. I turn to Lyra, and her fingers are digging into the vanity, eyes wide with terror.

“I’ll handle it,” I tell her, already moving.

I tear out of the room, grabbing a lighter on my way out, putting it into my mouth before shifting mid-air. I hit the ground as a golden brown wolf, and I run.

The cold night air whips past me as I surge forward, my claws biting into the earth.

If they followed us from the Oracle Pack, they're already too fucking close.

And if there’s anyone out in the forest...

I push harder, faster.

Because if those things find them first, there won’t be anything left to save.

AlexI hate fucking leaving Nova alone, but this shit needs to be dealt with.As I walk toward my room, my mind drifts back to last night. Fuck.I can still feel her against me, the way her body moved, the way she claimed me as hers. It was better than I ever imagined—and I’ve imagined it a lot. Too much. The memory of her scent, her heat, the rawness of it all nearly makes me turn around, march back to the room, and lock the door. Instead, I force my feet forward, exhaling through my nose.I’m wearing yesterday’s shirt, the fabric wrinkled from where she gripped me, held me to her like she was afraid I’d disappear. And beneath it… her mark.I haven’t even looked at it yet. When I reach my room to shower and change, I step in front of the mirror, gripping my collar and tugging it down. My breath hitches. The crescent mark is there, bold and undeniable, just above my collarbone. It isn’t just any mark—it’s her mark. The colors match her perfectly. As if her very essence has been impri

Nova When I wake up, I am enveloped in his scent. It’s the best possible way to wake up. Warm and intoxicating, wrapping around me like a blanket. I keep my eyes closed, savouring it, letting the steady rhythm of his breathing lull me into a dreamlike haze.I shift slightly, and the moment I do, strong arms tighten around me.A kiss—soft, lingering, possessive—presses against my shoulder, sending shivers cascading down my spine."Good morning, my love."His voice is husky with sleep, deep and rough, and it sends flutters low in my stomach.I finally open my eyes, and the sight of him steals what little air I have left.Tousled hair. NovaI was right. He’s huge.My breath catches in my throat, and I cling to him, needing a second to adjust.“Fuck, love,” he groans, voice thick with restraint. “You’re so tight.”He stays still, letting me breathe, letting me take him in.My one hand grabs the back of his neck, my fingers threading into his hair, tugging him back to me. When his lips return to mine, the kiss is even more intense, raw, and demanding. AlexThe rest of the party passes in a blur.As soon as Nova and I return from the woods, I’m immediately surrounded by pack members. They bombard me with questions, their chatter an irritating buzz in my ears. They don’t even notice Nova’s amazing scent on me. The mark she left.I answer a few elders out of obligation, but my patience is thinning with every second. They want updates—how Father and I plan to keep the pack safe from Wendigos, strategies, alliances. Must we talk fucking politics at a party? The music, the laughter—everything should be about celebrating, not the never-ending cycle of blood and war.I grit my teeth and start telling them to ask Father instead. It’s not fair. As the future of the pack, I should be the one reassuring them, but my patience is at its breaking point.I scan the room, searching for Nova, needing an anchor. And I find her. She’s standing in the corner, talking to Lyra, Aurora, and Selene. That’s… a fucking weird group. Lyra, I understand—my sist

Nova“Of course,” I nod, curious, and I walk with her as we head out into the quiet garden. The air is cool, a welcome contrast to the heat inside. The scent of night-blooming jasmine mixed with the earthy smell of wet grass creates a sense of calm. She turns to face me, her expression serious. “I know I apologized to the Alpha-Heir already, but I need to apologize to you, too. For the part I played.” She pauses, looking down for a moment as if trying to find the right words. “What I did… going against the goddess, Diana, the bond she created between you and the Alpha-Heir. I feel… horrible about it.” She shakes her head. “I was so wrong, Alpha.”I watch her for a moment, unsure how to respond. Part of me wants to hold on to the anger. But another part of me, the one that recognizes the guilt she is feeling, softens.“You were repaying a debt, I understand that,” I say, my voice quieter. “But I appreciate you saying this, Selene.”She nods gratefully, her hazel eyes searching mine for

NovaNate watches me with an amused, knowing glint in his eyes. As I reach him, I tilt my head toward the dance floor.“Dance with me?”That easy, familiar smile spreads across his face. “Are you trying to confuse the pack, make Alex jealous, or start a war?”I laugh, taking his hand as he leads me toward the dance floor. “None of the above.”His brows lift in mock disbelief. “Oh?”“The only reaction I care about,” I murmur as he pulls me closer, “is Selene’s.”His expression flickers, and I can tell the exact moment he spots her. His gaze shifts toward the edge of the room, locking onto her. She’s frozen, eyes fixed on us, her expression a mix of shock and something else—something raw and unguarded.Nate exhales a quiet laugh. “Well, then. Mission accomplished.”I grin. “So, she is the woman you recognized during the battle with the Wendigos?”He doesn’t answer right away, leading me effortlessly across the floor before finally nodding. “Yeah. Something just clicked.”I study him, no

NovaThe party is in full swing—laughter, clinking glasses, and the hum of conversation fill the grand hall. Alex is caught up in conversation after conversation, answering questions about pack matters and his Alpha initiation.Interestingly, but not surprisingly, no one asks about him choosing a Luna. It’s the unspoken elephant in the room. There are rumours about us, of course, but nothing has been confirmed. We agreed it’s better this way—keeping things between his family, the witches, and, unfortunately, Bianca. But who gives a shit about her?The moment the pack finds out, the questions will start. Will he step down as Oracle Alpha and join the Arcane Pack? Will I give up my title and return with him? Who will lead and who will follow?Questions we aren’t ready to answer. Because we don’t have answers.Besides, we have bigger problems than pack politics. We won’t reveal our bond—not as mates, not as a couple—until we deal with the curse. If he announces that he will marry me and

  • Her Alpha's Secret   Temptation and Threats

AlexThe grand hall is a masterpiece of old-world elegance. High, white marble ceilings stretch above, adorned with intricate carvings of celestial symbols in gold and blue. The colours of the Oracle Pack. The mansion is alive with music and laughter. Everyone is having a great time, and all threats of a looming war against the Arcane Pack are gone. I was surprised at how seriously the warriors took my little ‘chat' regarding Nova. Luckily, Nate backed me all the way, and our united front quickly convinced them. Besides, many of these warriors grew up with Nova. They didn’t want to harm her. It’s the annoying older men who don’t know her, who were stuck with the ancient mindset, that women are ‘weak’. I smirk… if only they knew what my fireball is capable of.I adjust the cuff of my black dress shirt, the fabric stretching over my arms. The top buttons are undone, the sleeves rolled up just enough to be comfortable, but the tailored black slacks and leather shoes keep the look polis

  • Her Alpha's Secret   The Glow-Up

Nova“Alright, sit down and shut up,” Lyra announces, cracking her knuckles like a warrior preparing for battle. “You may be an Alpha, but tonight? You’re my project.”I sigh, reluctantly settling onto the plush vanity stool in her oversized pink bedroom. There aren’t many people I allow to speak to me so… openly. But Lyra? Damn, I love this girl. Still, she can be a bit overwhelming.“I don’t need a makeover, Lyra. I look fine.”"Fine?" She gasps as if I had just confessed to a grisly murder.“Nova, darling, fine is what you say when your hair straightener breaks before a date, or when your ex tells you he’s moving in with his new girlfriend and you pretend you don’t care. Fine is an insult.”I groan, already regretting this. “I don’t see why it’s such a big deal.”Lyra places her hands on her hips, looking me over with a judgmental squint.“Because, my tragic little Alpha, this is your grand return. Do you want these people whispering about how you look like you just crawled out of
