13 No mercy

A big brown wolf jumped in front of me with a furious snarl and I barely managed to dodge his first blow. He went for my neck, definitely with an intent to kill, but I was faster. My wolf was in full control, and she knew what we were doing.

I turned and bit down on his hind leg, making him howl in pain. I wasn’t strong enough to break the bone, but made sure to damage as much muscle as I could.

Another one jumped on me, making me let go, and we rolled on the ground. I managed to get on top only for a moment, then he pushed me down and was barely a breath away from my neck when he disappeared. I only got a glimpse of Duncan’s gray wolf snapping its neck when the brown wolf I wounded attacked me again.

“Don’t hesitate,” Duncan growled through our link.

“I didn’t,” growled back, but I didn’t have time to argue. I jumped on the brown wolf, and after a bit of struggle, I managed to bite down on his throat. I tightened my hold, and finished him off.
