Sucking in a deep breath, inhaling the all too familiar air around me, I made my way through the trees I once used to run through as a child.

"There's still time to change your mind, baby girl." Lucien murmured quietly from next to me.

"I can do it." I forced out as strongly as I could.

I knew he was already worried, and I didn't want to make it worse.

"I'm going to be on the balcony attached to the back door once you go inside. I'll be able to hear you call when it's time for me to do my part." he assures me.
