Mia’s POV

My alarm rang loudly, pulling me out of my sleep. Morning had arrived, and it was time to prepare for work. Honestly, I’m always too lazy to get out of bed, especially on workdays.

“Oh, I hate waking up to weather like this,” I groaned as I forced myself out of my warm, comfortable bed. I walked over to the window and peeked outside, it was drizzling. The sky was dull, and I could already feel the cold creeping in from the glass.

“I hate cold mornings!” I shouted into the room.

“Yeah, me too. But we have to go to work, remember? Work first, then sleep, Mia,” Amelia responded from the other side of the room. She’s my best friend and housemate. We live in the same apartment and share the rent. City life is expensive, and with our small salaries, we have no choice.

“You’re right,” I replied as I shuffled into the kitchen. I needed to prepare something quick to eat before heading out.

“Did you pass by the grocery store yesterday? I remember we agreed to restock a few things, but I don’t see them here,” Amelia asked while inspecting the fridge.

“No, I forgot. Sorry, I got off work really late last night and just came straight home,” I admitted. I genuinely didn’t remember anything about grocery shopping yesterday. Amelia was always on top of things like that, unlike me. I constantly forgot, especially when it was my turn.

“You don’t need to explain. Just give me the money and I’ll buy everything on my way home. I already know you’ll give me the same excuse later,” she said, heading toward the bathroom.

“Don’t blame me, Amelia. I’ve got a lot on my mind right now. But I promise I’ll change, just for you,” I said in a joking tone, trying to lighten the mood.

“Just stop. I’m used to your excuses anyway. Now hurry up, you’re getting late for work,” she called out.

“Okay, Madam Time Manager,” I teased her with a laugh. She was always so punctual and I wish I was more like her.

I work as a fashion designer at a company that deals with stylish clothing. It’s not the best-paying job, but it helps me get by. I’ve been saving whatever I can because one day, I dream of owning my own fashion brand, of becoming a well-known designer with my clothes in stores across the world. I know it's possible if I keep working hard.

I got dressed quickly, layering up to fight off the cold. With the drizzle still coming down, I had to be careful not to get my shoes wet. It had rained last night, and now the cold had made the streets damp and slippery.

Mornings like this made me wish I had a car. Walking to work in bad weather wasn’t just uncomfortable, it felt unfair. I couldn’t stop imagining how wonderful it would be to drive myself one day, dry and warm, without worrying about puddles or mud. That day will come, I kept telling myself.

As I stepped out, the drizzle started to turn into heavier rain. I hadn’t carried an umbrella, typical me. I picked up my pace, knowing that if I didn’t hurry, I’d get to work completely soaked. I couldn’t afford to show up with ruined makeup and wet clothes. It would be so embarrassing.

With my short steps, I wasn’t making much progress, so I started to run. Just as I was hurrying, a car suddenly pulled up and blocked my way. I tried to move around it, but the man inside turned and blocked that direction too.

“What is wrong with this lunatic?” I muttered angrily, glaring at the car.

The driver rolled down the window and stuck his head out.

“Need a ride?” he asked with a calm smile.

  • Her Billionaire Crush   Epilogue

Amelia's POVThe sound of the cell door closing each night is a reminder of everything I destroyed. The cold concrete beneath me feels like the weight of my sins pressing down. I used to think love was something I could force, something I could make mine if I tried hard enough. But now, all I have is silence.Days turn into nights, nights into endless thoughts. I remember Mia’s face when I hurt her, the fear, the pain, the confusion. It all haunts me. I can still see the knife trembling in my hand, my reflection in her terrified eyes. What kind of person does that?Sometimes, I write letters I will never send. I apologize a thousand times, but no words can undo the blood or the screams. James name still echoes in my head. He never loved me, but I can’t hate him anymore. He loved her purely, something I never understood until I lost everything trying to destroy it.The guards barely look at me now. The other inmates don’t talk to me much. I sit by the window, tracing the cracks on th

  • Her Billionaire Crush   Starting a fresh

James's POV I stand quietly by the door, watching the two of them, Mia and Ethan. I can’t bring myself to leave just yet. The way she looks at him, the way he holds her hand as if she is the only thing keeping him alive, it just tells me everything I need to know. That their love is real, deep, and unshakable I can hear the soft tremble in Ethan’s voice as he tells her how afraid he was of losing her, and I can see the tears in her eyes as she whispers his name. For a moment, my chest tightens. I wish it were me in his place, the one who brought peace to her heart, the one she called out for when she was hurting. But that is not how life works. I had my chance, and I ruined it. I let pride, anger, and foolishness stand between us. I hurt her more times than I can count, and now I see the price of all those mistakes. She found someone who loves her the way she deserves, someone who never gave up on her. And that is Ethan.I take a deep breath, the weight of realization pressing on

  • Her Billionaire Crush   The promise

Ethan's POVI call Mia several times, but she doesn’t answer. Not even once. At first, I tell myself she’s probably busy, but as the days go by, worry begins to choke me. Something does not feel right. My heart refuses to rest, so I cut short my business trip and head home immediately. The drive feels endless, my hands tight on the steering wheel, my mind consumed with thoughts of her. I just wanted to see her, to know she is alright. That is all I needed right now. When I finally arrive at her house, my heart sinks. The front door is slightly open. I step inside, and what I see makes my blood run cold, a large, dried pool of blood on the floor. The air smells faintly of iron and fear.“Mia…” I whisper, my voice trembling. I rush through every room, calling her name, but she is nowhere to be found. The house is silent. Too silent, and my eyes fall on her phone lying on the couch. I rush over, tears blurring my vision as I pick it up. It was off, the battery must have died days ago.

  • Her Billionaire Crush   Knowing the truth

James's POVIt has been a week now, a long, painful week of waiting for Mia to wake up. She has been in a coma since that day, and each day feels heavier than the last. Every morning, I sit beside her bed, hoping to see her eyes open again. Thanks to the investigation, we finally discovered who did this. The fingerprints on the knife matched Amelia’s.I still can’t believe it. That woman is pure evil. She tried to destroy what Mia and I had, manipulating me, seducing me, turning me against the only woman who ever truly loved me. And now, her jealousy almost cost Mia her life.I will never forgive her for that. The police are still searching for her, and I just hope they find her soon so she can spend the rest of her days behind bars.I look at Mia, lying peacefully on the bed. Even now, weak, pale, and unconscious, she still looks beautiful. My heart aches. Why did I ever treat her so badly? If I could turn back time, I would undo every mistake. I would love her the way she deserves t

  • Her Billionaire Crush   Trusting my instincts

James's POV My heart keeps whispering that something is not right. I don’t know why, but a strange restlessness fills me, and the only person I can think of is Mia. Maybe she’s hurt… I just can’t explain it, but something deep inside me urges me to go to her. Without a second thought, I rush out of the bar and jump into my car. My mind is racing, my heart pounding with fear. If something bad has happened to her, then I will never forgive myself. The guilt will kill me.* * * * * * * * * * Within minutes, I park my car in front of her house, and the sight before me makes my heart stop. The door is wide open. That’s not like her at all.“Mia!” I shout as I run inside, my voice trembling. But there was no response. Then my eyes catch something that freezes me in place, Mia, lying in a pool of blood on the floor. For a moment, everything inside me collapses. I drop to my knees beside her, my hands shaking as I touch her. Her body is still warm.“She’s alive…” I whisper in disbelief a

  • Her Billionaire Crush   The fire inside me

Amelia's POV I wiped my tears with the back of my hand and forced myself through the revolving doors into the humid night. Every breath felt so heavy. I had gone to the club with a fragile hope, hope that James would see me there and that the years of waiting and hurt might mean something again. He had come, but he had not come for me. He had come with regret for a different life, for a different woman. He had not come for us. The cab smelled of old leather and gasoline. It dropped me in front of the building that held Mia’s flat, the same building I had once shared with her. I knocked her door until my knuckles ached. When Mia opened the door, her face was the mirror of the life she had rebuilt. Firm, composed, and very present. I could have admired her strength if not for the rage turning my stomach into a stone. “Long time no see, my dearest friend,” I said through teeth that wanted to bite. My voice came out sharper than I planned. I pushed her and forced myself inside as i
