Chapter 16

The three of us finished eating breakfast an hour and a half later. It was one of the slowest breakfast I had ever been to and also one of the fanciest. I learned that Jayden had made all the food when Brian let it slip that his father had woken very early. I don’t know how to feel about that. Having my billionaire boss cook for me was well a little intimidating.

I loved those bacon and green onion muffins. I never knew that muffins could be sweet and savory at the same time. Jayden had noticed my love for them and had told Nala to bring some more. The rest of the bread on the table had been fit for a king.

I tried the freshly baked whole-wheat cones and I vowed never to buy bread from the supermarket again. It wasn’t full of sugar and preservatives but soft, pillowy and I could taste actual bread. The remaining food on the table was of great variety and I tried each and every dish.
