My feet came to a stop as soon as I stepped into the living room. His cold gaze settled on me for a brief moment before he turned back to Theo.

And as if Theo sensed my presence, he looked back and immediately passed me a small smile.

I saw Theo nod his head to something Cronus said, I couldn't help myself from looking at him. Huge, tall, and well built, he seemed to fit into what the rumors said about him, but I wasn't sure if he was that terrifying. ” Come on. The food will get cold.” Zoe's voice pulled me out from behind and I turned to the dining area.

Cronus soon made his appearance. Feeling awkwardly silent, I still couldn't help looking at him.

I suddenly remembered last night, and I began running my face over him, searching for his injury.

“ What are you looking for?” His cold yet deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I stared up, meeting his eyes.” Ahh.” I swallowed.

“ Can't speak?” he raised a brow, the sarcasm in his voice was plain and obvious.” How is your wound?” I asked, and he chuckled coldly. My stomach flipped and my hand let go of the fork I was holding.

“ Enjoy your meal, dear.” I looked up and saw a smile on Zoe's face as she turned to leave.

Did I say something wrong?

“ Finish your food, you are too thin.” He said, and I looked up at him. He was staring back at me with that cold gaze that made me feel like I didn't belong here. The same gaze that reminds me of how much he hated me.” Hi, Grace.” I turned and saw Callous, the calm doctor who treated my injury.” Hi, Dr Callous.” I said with a smile.

Over the past few days, he has been very patient with me while helping me heal my injury.” What do you want, Callous?” His voice cut through and I saw Callous lower his head.

Was he that scary?

“ I would like to speak to you in private.” He said politely, his gaze turning to Cronus, who wasn't sparing him a glance." Wait for me in my office, “ he said, and I swallowed, surprised at how blunt his voice was. Calous looked older yet he spoke to him like that.” I can see you are healing pretty fast.” Callous suddenly said, and I nodded. Thanks to him, I was totally healed.” It's thanks to you.”

“ It's good to see you coping,” Callouse added, and a low growl rang in my ears. I turned my head to Cronus, and he was looking at me with his wild green eyes. This time, his gaze seemed different.

For a moment, I thought I saw something flicker in his eyes, but I guess it was my wild imagination.

His usual wild and calm gaze now has this storm lingering in it as if he were furious.” I will wait for you in your office.” With one look at me, he walked away.

The room grew quiet and uncomfortably awkward.” I can see you are getting along with everyone here.” I looked up to see him looking at me, his eyes still containing that wavy storm, but not as stormy as it was a while ago.

What does that mean?

I swallowed the food in my mouth as I confusedly glared back at him.” Are you talking about Callous?” I saw his eyes turn red but they changed immediately back to normal before I could understand what was going on.

“ You call him by his name?” His voice wasn't asking but scolding.” What is wrong with me calling him by his name?” Don't I call him by his name as well?

“ You think there's nothing wrong with it?” He was never angry when I called him by his name last night.

“ I'm sorry if you think it's disrespectful but he doesn't seem to have a problem with it.” I lowered my head into my food.

“ You don't get along with everyone?” I stared up That surely sounded ridiculous, besides, it was his pack, and everyone was under him.

“ Should I get along with everyone?” I looked up at him.” Is that what an alpha is supposed to do?” He was the alpha after all.” You think an alpha should get along with everyone?” his gaze burned on me for a few seconds before he looked away.” Not everyone but…”

“ That is it then.” He cut me off. “ I have things to handle.” He barely ate anything, aside from the empty milk glass, his plate was still filled with food.

After eating my food I collected the plates and sent them to the kitchen. The huge mansion has only one servant, Zoe. Every alpha has counted omegas working for him just like my father.

Our house used to have more than ten omegas working as servants.” You should go up and rest.” Zoe stepped forward and took the plates from me.

“ Can't I help you out?” I asked and she smiled as she turned to put the plates away.” You are not here to perform omega duties.” I frowned.

“ Aren't I the same as an omega right now?” I lost my pack, my father, and my title as alga female.” You think losing your pack makes you less of an alpha blood?” Doesn't it?

“ Your blood is still pure alpha blood, and I doubt alpha Cronus will be happy to see you working in the kitchen.”

“ I know you don't want me to help but Cronus won't mind.” He and I barely stood each other, he looked at me like I was his worst enemy. Why would he care about me or feel sorry for me?

His hatred for my father has been transferred to me since my father is no more. Didn't he bring me here to torture me?

“ I know what you are thinking, dear but give yourself a chance and get to know him beyond the cruel alpha everyone thinks he is.”

“ You have a better chance of surviving here than out there.” She added.

“ Now get out of here, don't force yourself to do hard tasks.” Was she trying to get rid of me?

“ Whatever you say.” I turned and left the kitchen, but as I climbed the stairs, I bumped into Theo, and in his hand was the familiar hairpin!

" Where did you find that?" I asked, but I noticed Theo's expression was odd, it was as if he was looking at someone from behind me.

I slowly turned and there he was, Cronus?

Wasn't he in his office with Callous?
