ログインI knew I should listen to Louis as he told me to calm down, but when has a woman who has been told to calm down had that actually work on her?
Looking back at the creature on the couch, his glowing eyes watched me. He smirked and I looked at his teeth, watching them lengthen into sharp points. I panicked, turned and weaved around Louis. His fingertips grazing my arm as I ran. I heard a roar much too loud for human vocal cords and a loud thump.
My heel caught the rug and I dropped to the ground quickly springing to all fours, my pencil skirt making it next to impossible to stand up without assistance. I looked back crawling as fast as I could towards the door, all the while cursing myself for choosing that skirt today.
I couldn’t see anything but Louis’ legs as he moved behind me scooping me up and sitting me on my feet.
“Amelia, calm down, you’re safe.” His arms stayed around me holding me in place turning to show me that Marcus had pinned the other man to the ground. He glanced at me and I let out a little shriek his normal dark eyes were gone just gleaming darkness, there was no sclera no hints of color just a glowing blackness.
“Let me go.” I said as I tried to pull away from Louis, I needed to get out of here and apparently start sending out my resume. I had a strong feeling that if I made it out of here alive I wouldn’t be able to use Mr. Blackwell as a previous reference. Still struggling I glanced back at the couch, the two other occupants looked, well they looked amused.
I stopped struggling for a moment, my breathing sounded ragged to my ears. I’d wait for Louis to remove his arms and then I’d try again.
“Finally,” he said in a tense gruff voice, his breath tickling warmly against my skin and I looked over my shoulder with a glare. Then I started panicking again.
Glowing amethyst eyes peered out at me from my friends face, I shrieked pulling harder at his arms. He let out a low growl of warning that spoke to me on a primal level, fear finally taking over and paralyzing me.
Was this how I died?
Sacrificed by my boss to these creatures, offered up by one of my best friends. Who was also one of those things. What had I done wrong with my life for it to end up like this?
Had I kicked puppies in a past life?
“Stop moving like that little one,” Louis said pulling me closer against his body, I could feel the response my struggle had caused against my lower back. I stopped moving, how could he be hard at a time like this?
What was wrong with everyone? I glared back up at him and his jewel like eyes twinkled at me.
“Nash, try that again and I don’t care if you’re on the elder’s council or not. I’ll kill you,” Marcus said, his words clear even though they had a strange growling tone to them. I could feel the power in them rolling through my body, more powerful than the fear I had felt earlier.
“She’s ours and I think you have your answer Vega.” Louis said his arms tightening around me possessively as his hand curled around the front of my shoulder, his thumb caressing the exposed skin of my collar bone.
My heart hammered loudly in my chest as Marcus climbed off of Nash, he watched me with a hungry look in his yellow snake like eyes as he stood up and I brought my hand up to grip at Louis’ arm still wrapped around me.
I looked away from him to Marcus as he watched Nash, a curt nod towards Vega and Izar as they stood up. Vega moved closer to Marcus, I could see the silhouette of her body through her thin white dress even in the dim room.
“Reconsider, there are so few of us left. A joining of our flocks would help us all, you don’t know what the future will bring.” She said placing a hand on his chest.
Marcus looked down at her and shook his head.
“I am declining the offer, thank you.” Marcus said, “Now if you will please see yourself out.”
Vega dropped her hand as she shrugged, she walked over to Izar and looped her arm through his looking over her shoulder at Nash, I watched him snap to attention as her power rolled across my skin. It was such a strange feeling, his eyes snapped up to her and I watched as he trailed behind the couple. Feeling Louis let out a deep breath as the door closed behind them. His arms loosened from around me and I looked back at Marcus, watching as his eyes changed back to normal.
“What is going on?” I demanded, wanting. No not wanting, I needed to know what just happened.
I looked back at Louis, his eyes still glowed as he pulled his arms away. He scrubbed at his face with his palms and I gasped ashe pulled his hands away, his eyes back to normal.
“What are you?” I asked stepping away from him, as I looked back at Marcus.
Chapter TwentyMarcus’ hand rested at the small of my back as he led me into the boutique. It was much different than the ones I had been to before, this one felt classy. If you could call a shop where they sold ball-gags sexy.We were greeted by a salesperson, he looked at Marcus and then at me. His full lips quirked up into a smile as his gray eyes met mine, his long wavy auburn hair looked soft to the touch.“Good evening, what can I help you with?” His voice was a deep rumble that I could feel all the way down to my toes, my eyes widened as I looked over at Marcus.“You can relax Sin, Amelia is mine.” Marcus said his eyebrow lifting and I could almost feel the warning he was sending Sin.Sin, I could understand why he was called that. He looked like a walking sin, his long lean legs encased in tight black leather pants. His white button up shirt held closed by two buttons, when he turned I could see the brief glimpse of toned, taunt muscles. He had on a silver chain from h
Chapter NineteenI sat down my wine glass as I avoided Marcus’ gaze. How could I tell him about what I knew without sounding like some sex crazed manic? Which given how Louis and Marcus had been behaving today wasn’t far off from the truth.“I know a bit about BDSM.” I said, biting my lip as I looked at him through lowered lashes.“Safe, sane, consensual. If I don’t have your consent, I won’t try and engage in that type of relationship with you.” He stated and I couldn’t help but smile. “I’d very much like to be your dominant though.”I felt my heart beat faster and the butterflies swirled to life in my stomach at his words. “I’d like that as well,” I said, my eyes meeting his as he reached across the table to take my hands.“Tell me Amelia, what do you like?” He asked and I could feel the blush flaring to life in my cheeks, the flutter of arousal stronger than before. His eyes darkened and I knew that I wasn’t just talking to him, but his dragon as well. Our waitress sh
Chapter EighteenSitting in Marcus’ car I couldn’t help but run my hand over the soft leather seat, it was soft and supply. His hand reached for mine and I realized I hadn’t been as subtle as I thought as I peeked over at him. He smirked at me and I felt the blush flooding my cheeks that was becoming all too familiar.“So where are we going?” I asked as he rubbed his thumb across my knuckles.“Just for dinner, I wanted to discuss some things with you before our relationship progresses.” He said looking back at the road and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was about the rumors I heard. I bit my lip and smiled as I looked down, I knew I wanted it to be.Marcus seemed like he would be a good dominant, I knew from the way he carried himself, to the way he spoke, he liked being in control. He moved our hands so my fingers were woven with his, his thumb caressing my thumb softly as he navigated the sleek black sports car through the dark streets. When he stopped in front of the res
Chapter Seventeen“Hello Marcus,” I said as I opened the door, I stepped to the side as he came in.“You look beautiful Amelia.” He said as he stepped into my home, I felt my cheeks heating up with a blush as his eyes moved from my bare feet all the way up my body. When he looked at me like that I could feel the same tightening in my lower belly that I always felt when he was around me, he stepped closer and I could smell the clean scent of his cologne and underneath that a smell that was uniquely Marcus. He leaned past me and closed the door.“You look very handsome,” I said looking up at him, he was in black slacks with black button up shirt. The sleeves rolled up and I saw tattoos peeking out from beneath the dark fabric, I felt my eyes widen. In all the time we had worked together I had never seen the tattoos, then again it was rare that he ever took off his jacket at the office, and I had never seen him roll up his sleeves.I wanted to trace my fingers across his skin and
Chapter SixteenWe stood in front of my apartment door as I looked up at Louis shyly, he smirked as I fumbled with my keys. Should I invite him, would that be weird for him to be here while I got ready for my date with Marcus?“When you look at me like that, little one.” He said grasping my hand with his free one, “It tests myself control.”“What do you mean?” I asked biting my lower lip, he let out a groan and stepped closer.“You don’t know what that innocent gaze of yours does to me do you?” He asked leaning closer to me.“You could show me,” I said, my lips quirked up as I tried not to smile up at him. “Are you trying to get me to kiss you?” Louis asked as he piercing gaze lowered to my lips.“I might be,” I answered, bringing my hands up to the lapels of his jacket and I pulled him closer to me.“You want a kiss?” He smirked at me.“Isn’t that the way to end a good date?” I asked biting my lip as I looked up at him through lowered lashes, the heat of his breath playing a
Chapter Fifteen“Louis no,” I gasped as he asked the sales girl to grab another pair of shoes.“Little one, I’m having fun. Let me have my fun,” his lips quirked as he ran his palm down my calf, his nostrils flaring as he scented my arousal and I felt my cheeks heat up in a blush that I was sure wasn’t going away anytime soon.“You’ve already had me try on five pairs, at this point I think you’ve got a foot fetish.” I said, raising my eyebrow as his hand trailed up my calf and to just above my knee, I grabbed his hand, my eyebrows shooting up to my hairline.“I think it’s safe to say that it’s not a foot fetish, but an Amelia fetish.” I was glad the sales associate wasn’t here as he leaned forward his eyes on my lips, my tongue darted out moistening my lips. He groaned low in his throat and I bit my lower lip, looking at him through lowered lashes.“Are you thinking about kissing me Louis?” I asked leaning closer to him, the smell of him, of his cologne making my mouth water. “
