Chapter Twenty-Six

Hand in hand, Merrow and Lola walked along the beach. Lunch had been fun, if not rushed with Merrow’s excitement to get back to the water. Lola could understand. It was a beautiful day as the sun beat down on them, making sweat trickle down her back even with the cool breeze. She wished she had thought to grab her swimsuit. Or to grab Merrow a pair of swim trunks. It would have saved her a bit of embarrassment.  

Merrow stopped their casual stroll and looked out towards the water. Pulling his hand from hers. Lola blushed as she watched him toss his shirt into the sand. He had started to undress earlier. She’d stopped him as he unbuttoned his shorts. Much to her disappointment.

Granted, by the shops where they had been walking, there weren’t that many people about.  But there were still enough to call the police if he had stripped naked and jumped into
