Four

The wind hit her face mercilessly, her legs gave up on her and pleading her to stop but being a thick head she is not going to care about her wounded legs, nor she has a choice to care for any except her dear life.

Hot breath tanned her skin even more uglier than the dust around her. Bead of droplets drenched the white t-shirt she was wearing.

Her jeans ripped open when she fell on the rough silt and gravel pierced her knees.

“That’s it. That’s it.” Her inner self was beaming with happiness even after her body was going through some distress.

Her cat eyes were focused on the car that was parked on the empty road and she has increasing hope of escaping from the stupid wolf.

But to her dismay, as she was engulfed with the thought of escape, she didn’t notice there was a cliff she was running to.

“Ahhh!!” she was flown in the air. Her lungs gave up on her, her eyes shut tightly, her face turned pale like a ghost.

She doubts if they get any bone to bury for her funeral.

But like,

Once in a lifetime, people face miracles and that can’t be explained to anyone.

Like,

That case,

A hand wrapped her waist against his body and he flipped the position in a swirl motion.

The atmosphere got heavy that she couldn’t even open her eyes.

With a loud growl, Addison shifted into his wolf and they both fell on the rock, she on his furry body.

Despite being pierced by some random stones, Addison was happy that she was safe in his hands.

A few hours ago----

The sun's rays slowly caressed her sleepy face, the fresh wind laughed at her, and morning vibes hit her like a cup of coffee.

She wants coffee.

Yawning slowly as stretching both her arms upwards, she mumbled for a coffee.

In a second her peaceful features furrowed as she regained yesterday's incident.

Bunch of wolves?!

Humans?!

Mate?!

Marking ceremony?!

With a jolt, she opened her eyes and scanned the room very carefully.

How did she fall asleep?

She doesn’t remember sleeping on the comfy bed.

“Luna.” The door was slightly opened by another maid.

“Please have your breakfast.” She set the tray on the table across the bed and with a bow, she let the place.

She let out a sigh of relief. She didn’t force her to eat.

“Luna.” Another maid entered the room, holding a bag in her hand.

“Alpha is waiting for you. Please wear this dress for the ceremony.” She bowed and set the bag beside the tray before walking out of the room.

“My name is not Luna.” She mumbled to herself afraid of the wolves.

“You are.” A tall figure stood on the doorstep, his grey eyes scanned her body very proudly.

She held her breath when she saw him. She was both astonished and scared as seeing him on the doorstep.

“You are their Luna.” He smiled at her.

He then walked towards her and sat beside her whereas she froze in her place.

“Be ready my beautiful mate.” He planted a soft kiss on her forehead. His kiss was anything but projected the care and love he has towards her.

“I need time.” She doesn’t know why did she ask for time, but she is not ready for the ceremony.

She needs time to process.

“You okay?” he tilted her face by lifting her chin in his thumb.

“I am scared. Please postpone the ceremony. I – I –” she was shivering with anxiety.

“If you were a wolf I would have marked you when my eyes first landed on you.” His intense grey eyes glittered with pride.

“I have given you enough time. I can’t wait for any longer. My wolf is bugging me already.” He let out a small chuckle.

Tears rolled down her cheeks and when they brushed his thumb he looked at her cat eyes.

There was pin-drop silence until she shed all her tears on the floor. Her eyes were turned red shoot and puffy, her nose swelled a bit, and her beautiful face was coated with her tears.

“I’m scared—” she hiccuped.

“Just give me some more time.” She hiccuped continuously.

“I can’t,” he whispered, regret is evidence in his grey eyes.

“My wolf will take over if I do. He is very protective of you.” He sighed.

“Please!” she almost begged holding his arms.

Sparks run over to every cell of his body and he shivered under the touch of his mate. He couldn’t say no to her and he can’t wait any longer.

“Please!” cat eyes met grey eyes.

Inhaling deeply he nodded his head not before having a heated argument with his wolf.

“I will postpone the ceremony for this evening. Just relax.” He gave her a weak smile, his head is throbbing like someone is hitting him with a hammer.

“See you soon.” Patting her head, he walked out of the room like he was forced to do.

Truth be told, his wolf is against his idea and fighting to take over.

“Thank God!” she whispered in his heart and to say destiny is on her side, or else she would have caught red hand by Adisson if it is not for her innocent eyes.

She fastly searched for her phone and found it in the back bag.

She typed the words wolf and went through the bunch of information that the Internet is feeding to her.

“My God!” her heartbeat doubled.

She has to escape before the ceremony. Once he marked her, he could read her mind and will know all her plans.

There wouldn’t be any way of escape.

“Luna!” Another maid entered the room.

“Alpha ordered me to attend to your need.” She bowed her head.

“It’s my pleasure to help you.” She gave her a warm smile.

For a moment, Mia studied her features and concluded with the statement that the maid is in her fifty or fifty-five, she looked fragile and won’t fight against her.

She is the cue to execute her plans.

Wow!

“Give me a glass of water.” She asked the maid.

“Yes, my Luna.” The maid poured the water into the glass and gladly give it to her.

Mia had a silver ring in her hands and attacked her with the silver.

After struggling and wailing, she succeeded and changed into her clothes.

She poured the coffee on her dress to hide her smell but she doesn’t know it won’t work on Adisson.

To her luck, Adisson is not in the pack house. She left the place to calm down his wolf before increasing the patrolling team around the house.

But somewhat she managed to come out of the house and started to run far away from the pack.

She knows where she is going because of the map she was holding in her hands but unexpectedly, she flies onto the cliff.

And we know,

The rest of the thing is history.
