Five

“You okay!” He whispered, his heartbeat started to accelerate like he has run a million kilometers in one breath when she didn’t respond to his voice. Her body felt numb above his chest.

“Hey!” once again he called her smoothly not wanting to scare her away.

All his anger withered just in the thin air and was replaced by pure dread and concern when he spotted blood on her forehead.

Hugging her body tightly, he placed her on the muddy ground and looked at her body for further damage.

She has bruised foot that was sure of the gift of running barefoot, and a cut mark on her right forearm that looked like something from the trees might have scratched her.

Other than that, she has no wounds or bruises.

“You will be all right.” He drew her pale body to his chest and inhaled his smell to soothe his wolves.

“Don’t be a butt. Bring our mate home.” Lopez growled in anger, he was restless as well as scared.

This is the first time this huge wolf tastes the loss of fear.

Arguing with him is useless so Addison blocked him and went for getting herbs to treat her bruises.

He applied aloe vera on her bruises and gave her the crushed juice of Tulsi with Neem to drink.

She stirred slightly but didn't wake up.

“Alpha?!” his beta Nicholas mind linked to him.

“Go back to the pack. I will stay until she gets consciousness.” Addison replied to the mind link.

“But Alpha!” Nicholas was hesitant to leave but his another command made him leave the place.

For a second, Addison blankly stared at his beautiful mate and let out a sigh of mixed emotions.

How I am going to handle her?

He has the capacity to make her bow down but he won’t do it, not with his own mate but Lopez will do it if he takes over.

She is a human and needs time to get into everything. He needs her love, which isn’t from forcing her.

The more things rolled into his head, the more he was getting a headache.

Rubbing his temple, he laid beside his mate and snuggled deep into her strawberry scent.

At night,

She gained consciousness and opened her eyes to look at the deep mesmerizing grey eyes.

Cat eyes didn’t blink for once as well as a pair of grey eyes. They were dangling together in the world of Disneyland.

How come a man be this handsome?! She wondered.

A wolf?!

She jolted back.

He was chasing her and found her. Now she was back in his custody.

“Relax!” Addison put a hand over her trembling hand and whispered in a soothing voice.

“Why are you chasing me? I have to go.” She screamed in agony whilst backing away from his proximity.

“Don’’t torture me. Let me go or kill me.”

That’s it.

His temper flared.

“I warned you already about saying the word ‘kill’ He is at the bay to take over.” He gritted his teeth, his eyes changing from grey to red.

“He won’t be easy on you.” He fisted his palm to control himself.

Scared, she put her face between her palms and cried like a child.

There was no escape.

In no second, his features changed into concern and he is beside her, soothing nothing but sweet words.

“It’s okay. We won’t harm you. You are our first priority.” He patted her head in a comforting manner.

“We won’t hesitate to put our life in danger if it means to protect you.” He said those words from the deep of his heart.

Even though she is hearing his words, her mind was still fogged with ‘she is put into danger’ that she can’t get over.

He gave her enough time to mourn for her ill fate and gradually the Sun arose in the morning and the rays shone on their faces until Addison woke up.

He had his hands protectively wrapped around her. He smiled looking at his mate and let out a defeated sigh.

How badly he wished to go home with her, and have a life like any other wolf, but he is not going until she says so.

He is not guaranteed of his wolf.

As he was in deep thought, he didn’t fail to notice his mate stirring in her sleep. Slowly, she opened her eyes and they were full of clouded with sadness.

“Eat.” He pushed the plate towards her, which has fish and potato for breakfast.

As she was hungry and scared of him, she ate it silently.

He was happy that at least she ate it without any tantrum.

If they have a daughter she too becomes like her mother.

Adamant.

He smiled at the thought of having kids with her and when she saw him a deep pink dot crept on his cheeks.

Geez! The great legend is blushing.

The rest of the day went by eating food on time and her going back to sleep. Her bruises are getting well with his uttermost care and the love he is showering on her that is somehow hidden to her eyes.

The third day after the incident, he planned to change their location as he sensed something fishy. His wolf is bugging him to leave the place whereas he adamantly waiting for her favorable response. 

They were talking and eating together for the last two days and he is getting hope, but he doesn’t know she is scared to hell that she tags along with him.

“Shit!” he let out an animalistic growl, the effect made the place shake visibly.

She looked at him like he is going to eat and in no second she screamed out of her lungs when in human form, Lopez took over.

His eyes are red.

His fangs came out.

“Let’s go.” He grabbed his hand roughly.

And in a swirl motion, he fist-pumped the person who came to attack them.

He fell on the ground with his stomach.

And another person tried to attack him but he easily get him down.

“Wh—what are they?” she shivered in fear.

Their face looked pale as well as their whole body. They have visible fangs, their eyes are deep red.

“Vampire.” His grip on her hand tightened even more, that for sure leave a bruise.

Two more vampires encircled them and it is easy to take them down for him. But unexpectedly, someone behind the tree threw a silver injection on him and he fell down with his back.

He groaned in agony, his eyes directly looking at her. “Please don’t abandon me.” He pleaded internally.

Without wasting another second, she started to run away from him. Meanwhile, many vampires encircled him and injected silver into his body.

His eyes are solely on her and his vision became to blur.

The injection is not poison to him, it's her hate towards him.

“Argh!” he groaned when he felt the syringe has been pulled from him. He forced his eyelids open and saw his mate is kneeling beside him, pulling out every syringe.

She is shivering, sweats are everywhere on her face.

“Stay with me.” He managed to hold her hands.

“I can’t. We are not meant to be together.” She stood up.

“Call your pack members. I’m leaving.” She turned her heels and ran towards her destination not before taking her back bag.

As she was running she pumped into someone and fell with her butt. Her heartbeat rummaged against her chest and she thought the vampire is going to kill her; she didn’t dare to look at his face.

“What is my beautiful mate doing here?” a deep voice echoed through the forest.

Addison?!

She furrowed her brows and looked up to see the exact carbon copy of Addison.

Same grey eyes, tanned skin but a hulking body, his chest full of hair, he has shoulder-length brown straight hair, and a long beard.

“Who—who are you.” She backed away when he was about to grab her.

“Your mate.” With that being said, he hung her on his broad shoulder and started to walk God knows where.

Through her blurred vision, she saw her back bag, and the next thing she knew she was caged in a small hut that was far away from Addison.

What is going on here?!
