What The Cameras Can't See

Ariana’s POV

The street security footage took three hours to retrieve, and by the time it landed on my desk, I had already convinced myself that I wouldn't like what I found.

I didn’t.

The man in the black SUV had sat in the same spot for four nights in a row. Always at night. Always gone by dawn. His face was never pointed at the camera, not once, as if he knew precisely where it was mounted.

“Professional,” Kylan said, leaning over my shoulder to watch the footage l

Blood and BloodinesSebastian's POV I came in to find my mother sitting already, tea untouched in front of her, spine straight as a blade. "You said this was about Ariana's son," I said, not bothering to sit. "It is." "Say it." Isabelle studied me a moment, the way she always did when she was deciding how much truth I could handle."Have you counted, Sebastian? The boy's age?" Something in my chest went very still. "Say what you're really saying."He's five. Ariana left this city six years ago. Her tone was flat, clinical, as if she were reading a quarterly report and not blowing my entire understanding of the past six years. Not that hard to figure out." I lowered myself down slowly, and the room tilted a little. You're saying he's mine. It could be, I'm saying. I'm telling you to find out before someone else does it for you." I thought of the boy in the photograph I had seen, only heard about, secondhand, through gossip columns and board members pretending not to whisper. A

The MessageCamillas POVI got a message from the person who works with me at FrosTech's public relations company. I read the message two times before I allowed myself to feel happy.Isabelle Frost wants to meet with me. She wants to meet tomorrow. She has seen the picture. It is no surprise that she has seen it. Isabelle Frost always finds out about the things that might hurt her son's business. She usually knows about these things before Sebastian does.I put my phone down. Poured some more wine into my glass. I thought about what this meeting might mean. I did not plan to talk to Isabelle Frost soon.. It is good to have someone on my side, even if I didn't plan it. Now nobody wants Ariana Frost to be gone more than Isabelle Frost does. She tried to get rid of Ariana FrostI wrote back one word. Confirmed. Then I sat back. Felt good, about the things that are starting to happen. The things I have been working on are finally coming together.Isabelle's point of viewI hadn't been in

"Amateurs catch lucky angles. "This one never slipped.Skylar said standing near the door. "Should I get the police involved?" Not yet." I froze the footage on the clearest frame, a blurred jaw, a gloved hand. "The second we go official, whoever hired him disappears and we lose our only lead.Kylan stood up straight. “Then we pull the thread ourselves.”“Delicately.”"When have I ever been anything but?"I nearly smiled. Close.Skylar cleared her throat. It's a

The PhotographUnknown POV My photo landed in my inbox at 6 a.m. They showed Kylan Sinclair with his arm, around Ariana Frost's shoulder. She was just turning her head a bit towards him. It wasn't a deal. Nothing that would prove anything.. It still hurts. I just sent the pictures to one person no message needed. They would know what it meant. Some hurts just need the moment to hurt more.Sebastian’s POVBefore sunrise, my phone buzzed on my nightstand. I didn't even feel it at first. Then I saw who sent it. No name, a number I didn't recognise. I opened it anyway. It took a second for the picture to load. When I saw it my heart felt tight. It's a picture of Ariana.Out on a balcony. Kylan was standing next to her, closer than business partners stood.I looked at it longer than I should.I told myself it's nothing. Colleagues were always near. Work, probably. Maybe not.But some little ugly part of me didn't buy that.I put the phone down, face down, and stared at the ceiling unti

THE WRONG TRAILAriana's POVI hadn't slept well. Not because of the article. Not even because of Camilla. It was Sebastian's call that kept pulling me back. His voice after six years. The way he said my name was as if no time had passed at all.But more than his voice it's one question I couldn't shake. How did he get that number?I was still thinking about it when Skylar walked in that morning and found me already at my desk."Forty-seven reposts from verified business accounts," I said before she could sit down. "All within the first two hours. Nobody does that without a plan."Skylar picked up the printout. "Someone paid for this.""Someone coordinated it. There's a difference. Getting forty-seven accounts moving in the same direction within two hours takes real relationships. Someone made one phone call and people jumped." "Camilla?" I asked"Maybe. Or someone using her without her knowing it."That thought had stayed with me all night. Camilla is calculated but she was never th

Cracks Behind The Mask Sebastian’s POV The office was unnaturally quiet. Not because there were fewer people. Assistants were still scurrying through the hallways, phones ringing every few seconds. Somehow, however, everything felt completely void.I stood staring out the floor-to-ceiling windows of my office at the Los Angeles skyline, another financial report untouched on my desk. I would normally have gone through every page before anyone else had the chance. And today I just didn't care.A knock broke my thoughts. “Come in.”My assistant came in nervously. "The board members are waiting, Mr. Frost." I glanced over at the conference room. “I’ll be there. She faltered. "Sir? You’ve already cancelled two meetings this week.” Are you worried about that? Her face turned white at once. “No sir.” She took off fast.I sighed heavily. She was not wrong. For weeks now my concentration had been awful. Every report brought Ariana to mind. Each time a negotiation went well I remembered that s
