Marcus’s POV

I woke up at 5:47 AM, same as every morning.

Not because of an alarm, but because my internal clock was programmed to wake me exactly thirteen minutes before Lyra typically stirred. Those thirteen minutes were mine, time to watch her sleep, to memorize the way the early morning light caught in her hair, to count her breaths and make sure she was safe and whole and exactly where she belonged.

In my arms.

She was curled against my side, her face peaceful in sleep, one hand resting over my heart like she was claiming it even in her dreams. Which she was, of course. Had been since the day we found her, though it had taken years for me to understand what that meant.

Kael was sprawled across the foot of the bed like an overgrown puppy, one arm thrown across Lyra’s legs in a possessive grip he probably wasn’t even aware of. Zane had claimed the chair by the window, positioned so he could see both the door and Lyra at the same time. Darius was on the floor by my side of the bed,

  • Her Four Mates   Possessive

Lyra's POVI was still fuming hours after the training incident. Not about Sarah. Well, not just about Sarah. But about Kael and how he'd just stood there letting her touch his arm, laugh at his jokes, lean into him like she had any right. He found me in the library that evening, his usual bright smile faltering when he saw my expression."Hey, so about earlier…""I don't want to talk about it.""Lyra, come on. Nothing happened. She was just…""Just what? Just touching you? Just making it very clear she wants you? Just challenging me in front of you while you smiled at her like everything was fine?"His mouth opened and closed. "I didn't realize she was challenging you. I thought you two were just competitive during training.""Of course you didn't realize. Because you were too busy being flattered by her attention to notice she was insulting me.""That's not fair.""Isn't it?" I stood up, my book forgotten. "She's been hanging all over you for weeks, Kael. And you just let her.""I w

  • Her Four Mates   Small Victories

Jadis's POVI was gathering herbs near the training grounds when I heard raised voices. Female voices, sharp with tension.Curious, I moved closer, staying hidden behind the equipment shed where I could see without being seen. A useful skill I'd perfected over the past months.Lyra and Sarah Collins stood facing each other in the sparring ring, their bodies tense, wolves clearly close to the surface. Kael stood between them, looking confused and concerned."We were just getting a little intense with the training," Sarah was saying, her voice sweet as honey despite the aggression I'd just witnessed.I had to press my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing.Finally. Finally, someone else was challenging perfect Lyra for one of her precious boys. And not just anyone. Sarah Collins, newly awakened alpha female, strong and confident and clearly interested in Kael. This was delicious.I'd noticed Sarah hanging around Kael more often lately. Asking him questions about her new wolf, request

  • Her Four Mates   Challenged

Lyra's POVI was in the training yard helping set up equipment when I heard her voice."So you're the famous Lyra."I turned to find Sarah Collins standing a few feet away, arms crossed over her chest. She was one of the wolves who'd awakened during last month's ceremony. Her golden eyes were bright and sharp, fixed on me with an intensity that made my wolf stir uneasily."Just Lyra," I said, keeping my tone friendly. "Can I help you with something?""Actually, I was wondering if you could help me with training. Kael mentioned you're pretty good at combat."Something about the way she said Kael's name made my skin prickle. Too familiar. Too warm."Kael said that?""Yeah. We've been talking a lot lately. He's been helping me adjust to my wolf, showing me around the territory." She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "He's really sweet.""He is," I agreed carefully."Must be nice having four guys like that always around. Must make you feel pretty special."There it was. The edge benea

  • Her Four Mates   The Merchant's Warning

Jadis's POVI made it to my room before the mask cracked. Not tears, I was done with tears. But my hands were shaking as I closed the door, my breath coming faster than it should. The image was burned into my mind: Lyra pressed between them, Zane’s hands on her skin, the way she'd looked at him with such complete trust and desire.Everything I wanted. Right there. Wasted on someone who had so much already.I paced my small room, my mind racing. Seeing them like that, so lost in each other, so obvious about their connection, had crystallized something inside me. This wasn't just jealousy anymore. This was necessity.I couldn't keep living like this. Watching from the shadows while she lived in the light. Being invisible while she was adored. Pretending to be happy while I slowly died inside.Something had to change.I forced myself to sit on my bed, to breathe slowly, to think clearly. Jealous people who acted on emotion made mistakes. I needed to be smarter than that. Needed to plan,

  • Her Four Mates   Fireflies and Stolen Moments

Lyra’s POVThe garden was quiet, hidden behind tall hedges. The sky turned pink and orange as the sun set. Fireflies glowed softly, and the air smelled of roses. I was supposed to check the garden supplies with Zane and Kael, but we weren’t working.Instead, I stood against a stone wall, ivy brushing my back. Zane’s lips were on mine, warm and hungry. My heart raced, and my thoughts were gone.“Lyra,” Zane whispered, his voice low and rough. His hands slid to my waist, pulling me close. “You’re so beautiful.”I blushed, my body warm. “We should… check the list.”Kael, standing behind me, chuckled softly. His fingers touched my neck, sending shivers down my spine. “The list can wait,” he said. His lips kissed my shoulder, soft but burning. “This is better.”He was right. The garden was private, perfect for us. After weeks of stress, pack problems, Theron’s visit, Jadis’s jealous stares, I needed this. I needed them. I wanted to feel loved.Zane kissed me deeper, his hands sliding under

  • Her Four Mates   Watching from the Shadows

Jadis's POVI watched from the kitchen window as Lyra laughed at something Kael said, her face glowing with that effortless happiness that made my stomach twist.Three months. Three months of playing the grateful refugee, the sweet newcomer, the helpful pack member. Three months of watching her waste what I would kill to have. The morning sun caught in her hair as Marcus appeared behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist like it was the most natural thing in the world. Darius and Zane weren't far behind, their eyes tracking her every movement with that devoted intensity that should have been mine."She doesn't deserve them," I muttered, my hands moving mechanically as I continued chopping vegetables for the midday meal."Talking to yourself again, dear?"I turned to find Elder Patricia watching me with those sharp, knowing eyes that missed nothing."Just thinking out loud," I said, forcing my sweetest smile. "The morning is so beautiful.""Mmm. Beautiful mornings, beautiful lies
