VIOLET

I stood by the kitchen island, The window before me framed nothing but shadows, a view I wasn’t even really seeing, I was just there, trying to breathe. The moment I stepped into the kitchen, the maids scattered except Margaret.

She approached gently, the only warm presence in this house that hadn’t made me feel like an intruder.

“Do you need anything, ma’am? Something special you will like us to make?” she asked, her voice soft, lace with real concern. She had quietly taken me under her wing, told me things I suspected she wasn’t allowed to share , whispered truths about this family and their ways. There was something maternal about her, something that reminded me of my mother. I missed my mother, even though I was still angry with her and still ignored her calls, I miss her.

“I’m fine,” I said, barely a whisper. “Just need a little air, I will head back soon.”

She nod, not prying, and slip out quietly.

I pick up my phone, already dialing. There was only one person whose

Violet I sat alone at the kitchen island, with silence surrounding me, Morning light stream in through the windows, too bright and mocking as if the world dare me to feel normal after what last night did to me. Stefan didn’t return to our bedroom. Not after his ex barged in like she own him. Maybe she still does, Maybe she always did. I didn’t know what hurt more that we didn’t finish what he started on my body , or that he probably did with her. A part of me wanted to believe I was relieved that I escaped something I had no business wanting. But that would be a lie. Because I did want it, I wanted him and I hate myself for it. For how my body betrayed my pride. How my skin burned under his touch, how every breath he took against my neck felt like a promise. He touched me like I belonged to him. And worse, my body responded like it knew it did. Even now, just thinking about the way his mouth claimed me, the way his hands devoured me with brutal tenderness I was getting wet, asha

  • Her Heart in his Empire    Chapter Nineteen

Stefan I’ve never felt this desperate. The moment I saw her in that sheer, nude colored nightdress the soft fabric clinging to her curves, her nipples straining against it, begging for attention, something inside me snapped. Violet had the kind of body that could undo a man, ruin him, make him crave and crawl and lose every ounce of reason. And I was no exception. My fingers trailed down her thigh, slow and hungry, until I reached her center already soaked, pulsing, aching. She was ready for me, but I wasn’t in a rush. No, I needed to savor her, worship every inch of her sinful body like it was my last chance on earth. I attacked her neck with kisses and nips, marking her not just out of lust, but out of something deeper, darker, Possession. I need the world to know she is mine, I need her to never forget it. Her gasp filled the air when I rip the fabric from her body, too impatient to peel it off slowly. My eyes devoured her. Her breasts were perfection, full and high, the kind

  • Her Heart in his Empire    Chapter Eighteen

Violet The moment I heard the click of his study door, I went upstairs to retire for the night. Stefan never stay in our bedroom and I cherished those moments of silence. There were weeks he didn’t come home at all, and I used to count them as blessings. But lately, he’s been around, too much. His presence now feels like a shadow that crawls beneath my skin. Each night, I sleep with my back to the door and the covers pulled high, terrified that he'd slip in still wet from blood and vengeance and decide tonight was the night. In the bathroom, I drew a hot bath, I filled the tub until it nearly overflowed and sank into the hot water, letting it scald the fear out of my bones. Steam wrap around me, fogging up the mirrors and melting the tension in my shoulders. I closed my eyes and stayed there, soaking until the water cooled and my skin wrinkled. It was the only place I could pretend my body was still mine. When I stepped out, I took my time dabbing rose oil onto my collarbones, mass

STEFAN My phone has been buzzing in my pocket. Whoever is on the other end better be calling with a goddamn miracle or I’ll burn down their house with them inside it. Tonight’s not the night to test me, I’m standing in the heart of a dusty, dimly lit warehouse by the docks. Shadows crawl across rusted containers under the flickering glow of overhead lamps. Oliver hands over the duffel bags to the Mexican contact. No words just a silent transaction between Men, I give him the signal to confirm the contents. VIOLET It would be an unforgivable lie if I said it didn’t tear me apart when I found my husband downstairs, locked in a passionate embrace with his ex. Just one damn month into our marriage, and he was already sleeping around. And the most sickening part, He didn’t even have the decency to sneak around. No, He did it here, in our home, under the very our roof, the same space where my name was freshly etched as "his wife," Tell me, how am I supposed to look at a man like that and not taste hatred at the back of my throat, I knew loyalty was a myth in mafia marriages, but this was humiliation, raw and deliberate humiliation. We hadn’t even consummated the marriage, not that I looked forward to it. If anything, that betrayal fueled the fire burning inside me.If only there were a way to vanish, If only someone could help me disappear, leave here forever and never look back. I descend the stairs this morning, determined to keep myself together, Nora was in the kitchen, humming and

Stefan I still haven’t wrapped my head around it, the fact that Noona invited Rose for dinner without even the courtesy of a telling me, As if her return to Italy wasn't enough of a storm, now she is sitting at my table, in my house, looking like time has only made her more stunning. The woman who shattered my heart into pieces is now here, laughing softly across porcelain plates as if nothing ever happened. And more disturbingly the fact that she walked in tonight looking like the very definition of temptation, like time had made her more beautiful than ever. I am still going to talk to my grandmother, to warn her not to ever bring anyone to my home without asking me first. But even as that thought burned in my chest, my eyes kept stealing glances at Rose across the long table. And then there was Purple, She had excused herself quietly the moment Rose stepped into the room. She didn’t say a word, didn’t throw a fit just left.I told her it was going to be a dramatic evening.
