TALIA'S POV

Why does it hurt? I couldn’t help but ask myself. I know I shouldn’t be this worried or this bothered about whatever Maxton said but it felt like my heart was tearing apart into pieces.

I rushed into the girls bathroom and I stared at myself in the mirror. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I wiped it with the back of my hands and sniffed.

“Fucking asshole,” I muttered under my breath, my mind replaying his cruel words. He really said all that to me when I was just trying to be nice? Why does he have to be so mean?

My mind traveled back to what happened in New York. I remembered what I did and what I said to him and it was then for the first time I put myself in his shoes. He didn’t even say half of what I said to him, and yet it hurts this bad. I can only imagine how much he must have been hurting when I said that.

“It’s whatever. Screw Maxton, I have better things to focus on,” I said to myself, taking a deep breath before leaving the bathroom and heading to my next class.

  • Her Hockey Stepbrother, Her Worst Enemy, Her Beloved   Chapter 91

TALIA'S POVI stood there, confused. Me? Cause a fight between the hockey and football teams? A fight bad enough for parents to get involved? Come on...“What do you mean?” I asked, brow lifted. “I don’t remember causing any fights. I barely even know anyone on either team besides...” I trailed off, then added, “...besides Maxton over here.”“This is useless,” the man I assumed was Steve’s dad said. “Boys fight all the time. You shouldn’t have called me for this because I had to cancel an important meeting just to be here, Principal Riles.”“I understand, Mr. Williams,” Principal Riles said, trying to calm things. “The issue is they are graduating soon and they don’t need this on their school records, it could hurt their college chances. I know boys fight, but we need to get to the bottom of this so both teams can reach an agreement and we can make sure it never happens again.”“And somehow you think the root of this fight has something to do with this boring girl right here?” a woman

Blood for bloodBefore his first moon. The phrase kept on ringing through my head even after several hours. It slithered through my ears while I tried, and failed, to sleep—slipping, sliding, and coiling through every corner of my brain.Blood for blood? What the hell did that even mean? How was I supposed to get Vladimir’s blood before his first moon? And how was I even sure she had been telling the truth?“Aargh,” I groaned, burrowing deeper into the mattress.Nothing was making sense anymore. When I had first drawn out my plan, I never imagined it would be this tiring—this life-threatening.I let out a shaky sigh, ignoring the heated weight of Vladimir’s gaze burning into my back as I tried to shut everything out. The nagging awareness of being watched prickled against my skin, raising goosebumps. Every time I closed my eyes, the first thing I saw was the piercing stare of the woman they had captured spying at the east wing. I could still see it—the way secrets swirled in her eyes

MAXTON'S POV I remembered walking out of the party after cleaning up in the bathroom to look for Talia. It was already midnight, and she had already ruined the fun for Aaliyah who wanted to go home.I couldn’t leave Talia behind; I had brought her here, so I was supposed to take her back. I looked around outside the party, thinking she would be standing somewhere waiting for me, but she wasn’t outside either.I was pretty sure she wasn’t inside either because I had searched properly, and I didn’t even catch a glimpse of her, to say the least. I whipped out my phone and searched for her number. My finger hovered over it, wondering if I should call her or not. Why the fuck did I even care? What she did inside was out of line, and I shouldn’t be worried about her right now, but I couldn’t help it.I pressed the call button. Her phone rang, but nobody picked up. Just then, I saw someone from Talia’s skating team, and I asked, “Did you see Talia? Do you know where she is?”“Oh yeah, I saw

TALIA'S POVGod, what the hell have I just done? I stood there, the shame I was feeling was almost too much as I wished the ground would just open up and swallow me right the fuck up but I knew I wasn’t lucky enough for something like that to happen to me when I wanted it to.“Why did you do that, Talia?” Aaliyah asked as she wiped the liquid off her face with the back of her hand. Tears filled my eyes at that moment, as I felt confused and did not know what to say.Everyone’s eyes were on me at the party. I had somehow managed to draw a crazy amount of attention to myself. “Damn what’s wrong with you, you fucking weirdo” I heard one of the guys on the football team say, his voice burning in my head as I apologized repeatedly and ran away, leaving the party immediately before I found a nearby alley to hide in, my back sliding against the wall as I cried hard.God, why God why?I don’t know if it was the effect of the alcohol or something else but I could feel a thousand emotions hitti

  • Her Hockey Stepbrother, Her Worst Enemy, Her Beloved   Chapter 87

TALIA'S POV ‎“As if. They are not dating. Maxton Carter isn’t about to date anyone, we all know that much. But from the rumors I have heard, I think he might actually kinda like her.” Deej leaned in and whispered, “I heard she brings something different to his life compared to his other flings. She’s more interesting and spontaneous, so she’s probably gonna be around for a while, that much I know. But I can tell you for sure, they are not dating.”‎‎I don’t know why, but I felt some type of relief at that moment. I was so freaking relieved to find out this piece of information, but at the same time I was still jealous hearing he might actually have some kind of feelings for her just because she was interesting. “But Aaliyah seems to think they are dating. I mean, it isn’t very gentlemanly to lead a girl on.”‎‎“Well good thing Maxton isn’t a gentleman, and trust me, Aaliyah isn’t looking for something serious either. From what I’ve heard, she jokes around about Maxton being her boy
