Chapter 16: Teasing Him.

Laura walked into Diamond Star’s company building and headed straight for the reception desk without looking around. But from the moment she walked in, everyone’s attention was drawn to her. Even the cute receptionist girls stared at her for a while before hearing what she was saying to them.

“Yes, how may I help you?” one of the more experienced receptionists asked Laura, snapping the rest of the girls out of their daze.

“I’m going to see James Lewis,” Laura said as she leaned on the desk, her cleavage peeking out the top of her dress. The employee smiled politely and focused her gaze on Laura’s face while trying to maintain her professionalism.

“Do you have an appointment?” she continued to ask, feigning nonchalance, but Laura could see her ears redden at a visible speed.

“Yes,” Laura answered with a smile, and continued to watch as the other party picked up her phone to call the CEO’s offices.

“Please sit down, someone will be sent to escort you soon,” the receptionist said once the call ended.

“Thank you,” Laura said and flashed the girls a grateful smile before going to sit on one of the sofas in the waiting area.

Laura crossed her long legs and pulled out her phone as she waited for the person who was going to escort her. She didn’t have to wait for long before a man in a suit stopped in front of her. Laura looked up and saw a brown-haired young-looking man with a friendly face looking at her.

“Miss Laura?” he asked, and Laura nodded in response.

“I’m Derek, Mr. Lewis’s assistant. If I may escort you…” he said and Laura cooperatively stood up before he could finish.

“Shall we?” he asked and Laura nodded, before following behind him. The two got in the elevator, and Laura watched as he pressed the button to the ninth floor.

They soon arrived on the ninth floor and unlike where they just came from. It was much quieter and stifling. It was clear that upper management was on the floor. They walked past a few offices and arrived at the end of the corridor, where Derek opened the large door to let her in.

There was another door within the office space which he knocked and then opened after a brief pause, letting Laura go inside before closing the door behind her, leaving her in the office with James.

James, who had been sitting behind his desk with his eyes focused on his computer, looked up at her and offered her a seat.

Laura hadn’t seen James since yesterday, but seeing him now with the gold-framed glasses resting on his nose made her feel like it had already been a few weeks. He looks handsome today too; she thought to herself as she stared at him, not even hearing him telling her to sit down.

“Laura?” James called to her as he took off his glasses and stood up. A small smile was playing on his lips as he could guess what was going on in her head.

“Hm? Yes?” Laura responded to James, who was already standing in front of her.

“Shall we sit down?” James asked her and Laura nodded dumbly as she was led to sit on one of the leather sofas in the office. Laura sat down and placed her purse next to her before crossing her legs and looked at James, who was on the sofa opposite her.

“How was your day?” Laura asked James, who was trying not to stare at her long legs as he browsed through the contract he had prepared for her.

“Busy, I hope your trip here went well,” James said to her and heard her click her tongue in response, an action that made him raise his head to look at her. Laura stood up and moved to sit down next to him.

“Why are you being distant?” she asked him once she got comfortable. James stared into her green eyes for a few seconds before smiling at her.

“I don’t like mixing business and pleasure,” James said with a chuckle as he leaned back to relax on the sofa.

“What do I do then? I want to do business because of pleasure,” Laura said and took the contract he was holding in his hand, flipped through a few pages and then placed it on the coffee table. James watched her set of actions with questions in his eyes.

“Then what do you have in mind?” James asked her when he noticed her move closer to him.

“I think I could have gotten a better greeting,” Laura said slowly as her eyes strayed to his lips before her own red lips spread into a smile. James narrowed his eyes when he heard her say this and inwardly wondered how she managed to remain inexperienced considering her audacity.

Laura did not dally at all and pressed her lips against his. This was already the third time this was happening, and for a moment, James, who reached his limit because of her teasing, kissed her back. Laura felt surprised when she felt his hand on the side of her face, but didn’t stop and even closed her eyes, determined to enjoy herself.

James used his thumb to pull down her chin, prompting her to open her mouth, and pushed his tongue into her mouth. He was not polite with his kissing at all and was, in fact, very domineering.

With James making a mess out of her, Laura weakly leaned against him, not knowing that it just encouraging him to be even more domineering.

A sigh escaped her lips when his tongue teased the roof of her mouth and her body subtly trembled when he entangled her tongue with his. Laura’s mind had become blank and could only register how fast her heart was beating. James teasingly nipped at her bottom lip before pulling away from her.

“Breathe,” he reminded and Laura, who had forgotten, gasped for air. James was slightly amused by her reaction but didn’t comment on it.

“You should stop teasing me, don’t play with fire,” James said, and pecked her lips before picking up the contract he had taken from her.
