Author's POV

Sanjiv was restless from the moment when he didn't find koushy at home, adding to that koushy left her phone behind.

Now, how will I contact her? He was stressed over her.

Should I wait till koushy returns from wherever she is or should ask our neighbors? Sanjiv was thinking of possibilities to know Koushalya's Wearhouse.

Losing his peach color tie Sanjiv sat on the couch being mentally exhausted.

He thought he would surprise her by giving her an unexpected visit, he even imagined her doe eyes with a wide smile, when he would give her the ring. But now everything will be the opposite as he will be surprised after knowing Koushalya's Wearhouse.

At least she could have informed me, thought Sanjiv while running his palm over his face.

It was already 3:30, and extremely exhausted, Sanjiv got up from the couch and walked to the main door to look after his wife. He just couldn't simply sit and keep waiting for her to return.

As soon as he opened the door, his eyes saw the most awaited human figure. Your assumption is right. It was his wife.

Koushalya.

A wave of relief hit him when he saw her.. koushy got a mini heart attack seeing him all of sudden, she flinched a little but soon got normal.

" Where were you ? " he almost yelled while asking her, it was the first question Sanjiv wanted to ask her from the time he didn't find her at home, and he did.

" Uhmm..... Can we talk inside ? " koushy requested him, as she doesn't want to entertain their neighbors.

Sanjiv nodes at her as he too realized they were standing outside, and neighbors might hear their conversation. Sanjiv stepped back and went inside, koushy too followed him.

As soon as they came inside, koushy closed the main door, leaning backward on the door. She rested her back on the door and sighed in relief.

Sanjiv scanned her from top to bottom in a matter of seconds. She was wearing a sandal color Kurti, with black ankle pants. her hairs were in a loose pony. Her one hand was holding the handbag, while another was adjusting her few hair strands. He can sense her nervousness by seeing her unusual behavior.

Koushalya didn't expect him, at this time. She thought she would be back before him, but his unexpected visit gave her sudden nervousness.

" Care to explain " she heard Sanjiv's deep voice, he was pissed by her silence.

" I...am...I want to hospital " koushy shuttered while replying to him, although she wanted to say things straight on point, seeing his stern face she was lost for words.

" What? Hospital but why? " Sanjiv was a little taken back when she said she went to the hospital.

Is she pregnant? This was the first question that popped up in his mind, for a moment he got tense because he knew he didn't use any protection, but soon realizing that this can't be possible he sighed in relief, as they just consumed last night and in just a few hours she can't get pregnant right?

Coming out of his thoughts Sanjiv asked her " you have a fever? You could have informed me I would have taken you to the hospital. Why do you want alone? " He felt too guilty for ignoring her health. At least she could have told him, being husband can't I do this for her? Or she didn't find it important to tell me anything related to her? His mind was occupied with a lot of insecure thoughts which he brushed off.

" No... I'm fine, I mean right now I'm feeling a little weak yet that's not the reason after you left for the office, I was engrossed in kitchen chores, suddenly got a call from one of my college friends Varsha, She told me that her brother met with an accident and he lost big amounts of blood, to save his life they need o+ blood group, which is same as mine. I assured her about giving my blood to her brother after that's left for the hospital. In a hurry, I forgot to take the phone with me. I know it's my fault at least I should have informed you, but I was tense and forgot about it. When I was coming back from hospital Remembered I never told you about it, but then again I thought you would come by your usual office time at 6:30 pm, and till then I'll be back from the hospital and will tell you on my own. but my bad you were at home before me. And I made you unnecessarily tense. I'm sorry " Koushalya told him all in one go and sat on the couch. Blood donation and the hospital smell didn't go well on her. She felt Annecy couldn't stand on her own.

Sanjiv sat beside her and adjusted her few hair strands which were falling on her forehead. This caught koushy's attention, she looked at him.

" It's okay, I was just worried for you, how're you feeling? Should I bring something to drink? " He asked with concern, he never knew his wife has this much helping tendency that she forgot to inform her husband about it, out of worries for another person's life.

" No, it's ok. I'm fine " koushalya denied him.

" Is that? But you look pale. Don't be hesitant. For god's sake, I'm your husband, not any other random person. Tell me if you need anything" Sanjiv tried his best to make her understand the gap they have between them. As a husband and wife, they shouldn't be hesitated to ask or say anything to each other; that's the first rule of marriage. But here both were behaving as if they were forced to marry each other, which wasn't. They both got married to each other with their consent. Although Sanjiv was the one who created this gap between them assuming that Koushalya needs it, and now he is behaving as if Koushalya was the one who always kept his distance from him, lack of conversation and misunderstanding can create a lot of stuff in our life.

Koushalya looked at him with a blank face, she couldn't believe that it's her husband who was talking like this. Wasn't he the one who always kept mum and was distant from me until last night? Suddenly what got into him? Koushalya asked herself.

She was engrossed in remembering his past behavior when she felt his one arm sliding around her waist and another arm under her thighs. Within seconds she was lifted By Sanjiv.

" Woah...what are you doing ?" She flinched at his sudden act. But Sanjiv didn't answer her, instead, he began to walk towards their bedroom. Koushalya held his arms for the support she didn't want to fall, her heart pumping like she was running in a marathon.

Once in their bedroom, Sanjiv placed her on the bed like she was some delicate flower.

" Take rest..... I'll bring lemon juice, so you won't feel weak and Annecy," Sanjiv said and was about to leave the place but stopped when he felt her hand tugging at his.

Sanjiv turned to look at her, who was holding his hand with a smudge smile on her lips. Sanjiv raised his eyebrows to question her 'what is the matter'

" Thank you " koushalya mouthed looking at him still smiling. She felt the thing which she wanted to feel from him, His care for her.

Sanjiv gave her warm smile bent down to her level and placed a gentle kiss. The moment his lips touched her forehead, koushalya forget all the worries and hesitation that she had from the last few days regarding their bond with each other.

She couldn't figure out what happened to him suddenly, how he became expressive? Was she her husband or someone else? Whatever it is, but she is glad and she didn't want to spoil it by overthinking.

Sanjiv gave her a warm smile and left the room, koushalya lay down on the bed with a wide smile like a teenager.

This feeling is new for her yet so satisfying. Was this his real behavior or he was pretending like he doesn't care about me? Or is he pretending now? What is the reason behind his Change? Was the reason for me? If yes, then I'm so excited to spend more time with him and also for our new life. Maybe this is the new start of our married life. Koushalya was continuously thinking about all these and eventually slept unaware of the fact that every situation in life is temporary, whether it's good or bad, happy or sad, both are temporary.
