HIS SECRET

                              HIS SECRET

“How the hell did I get picked to be class leader? It's not even a class.” I say with my hands splayed out in front of me with palms facing up.

Cropped hair girl shrugs and pops her lollipop out of her mouth to respond,

“I volunteered you since you're the junior amongst us. Nobody argued. Plus I thought it would be a nice opportunity to have your back blown out by Professor Vaughnhottie.”

I choke on my saliva mostly because Vaughnhottie was one of the numerous nicknames I had given him.

“Why do you keep saying that?”

She gave me a once over through her periphery vision.

“Honey, you can not keep playing the denial game with me. I saw you guys in class together, believe me when I say it is hot enough without the heat between the two of you.”

My eyes bulge as I look around us to see if we were alone, cropped hair girl chuckles.

“Relax. We are alone. The other students used the front gate, Professor Vaughnhottie stayed back in the classroom. The parking lot is empty.”

A sigh of relief escaped my lips, I had met a lot of crazies and completely stayed out of their way until this one.

“Look. I don't know who you are, and i would appreciate it if you stopped following me.”

She walked in front of me and faces me, whilst walking backwards. Her brows raised in question.

“You think I am following you? In a public space?” She threw her hands around us as if to prove her point. I clamped my mouth shut and try to side step her and get into my car quickly. I could not wait to squeal in happiness in the confines of my car.

“So you are her then.” She says with a knowing smile.

I blink in confusion, my hand hovering above the handle of the car. Sighing, I knew she baited me again, and again, I will bite.

“I am who?” I throw in an eye roll, expecting her to say something about my parents.

“Rated R.” She says pointedly.

The wind is knocked out of me. I had to blink to clear my thoughts. Nobody ever knew who my alias was, and that was because I was very careful. My heart thumped in my chest as I watch her walk to the passenger's side of my car. She knocks on the window twice.

“get in. This is not a conversation you want to have in public.” The knowing smile did not leave her face.

My legs worked on their own as I unlocked my door and climbed in. She climbs in after I unlock the passenger's side.

“Holy shit. This is as sick as I thought it would be. Actually, even sicker.” She took a big whiff of the car as her eyes swept the entirety of my car.

My mind reeled with questions. In all my three years going here, I mostly kept to myself. I only had one friend, and she doesn't know that side of me. I rub my eyes. I could not even pretend to not know anything about Rated R, she caught me off guard and pretending would make me look foolish.

 “How did you know?”

She gave me a sly grin, “Why don't we introduce ourselves to each other?”

My brows draw together in confusion. What was wrong with this girl?

“The name is Jessica Kurt. If you were slightly more observant, you would know me as Kitty Jam.”

It was my turn to raise my brows in question. And then it slowly dawns on me. Models from the nude art house all go by aliases, that was how she knew me. Of course. I never imagined that another one of us might be schooling here.

“Kitty Jam? Really?” I ask once my heart had slowed down and stopped thumping in my ears.

She shrugged, her smile genuine this time.

“Don't blame me. You took the best name.”

I rolled my eyes, “And you had to do the whole scare the shit out of me thing just for a reunion?”

My hands were steady enough to start driving, I start to back out of the parking lot.

“Could not help myself. And you a whole less mysterious now.”

Once again I am floored by the thinking of this girl.

 “Mysterious?”

“Yeah. You had this air of mystery around you back at the art house, I didn't know you, just your car, then I saw it back at the beach where you surf, and i recognised it because I see it on campus and at the art house, now that I see you up close, I have figured out the exact reason someone as rich as you would work in the art house.”

I humour her because she has no idea that Professor Vaughn was a client there. I know the art house keeps our information close to them, everything about us are kept as top secrets. The clients have their own entrances and exit, I would not even know his name if he was not my professor.

“Professor Vaughnhottie is your client right?”

I slam on the brakes as she says this, throwing us forward, thankful for whoever invented seat belts. Jessica recovers quickly.

She does a little victory dance in her seat.

“How did you know?”

She could not know. That was his secret. That could ruin his entire life if it ever came out.

“Truthfully, I caught a glimpse of him that day Molasses  opened the door when you guys were still in it. After you left, she said the bench was soaking wet and made gagging noises, but I bet she was just jealous. And today, when you guys were undressing each other with your eyes, it was just a sight to be behold.” She says this like she really believes that it was a sight to behold.

A lot of cats honking behind me moved my limbs to start functioning again and i started to drive again. It hits me a few seconds later that Molasses was the other model who hated my guts.

“What do you want?” I ask lowly.

She turned to me, “What?”

I sigh. “How much do you want?”

Her brows furrowed before realisation dawns her.

“You think I want money to keep the whole world from hearing that you are fucking our ethics professor?”

My knuckles tighten on the steering wheel as I struggle to see in front of me.

“We aren't fucking.” I mumble.

“Sorry What?”

“I said we are not fucking Okay? He does not even know it's me under the mask and wig.”

Her face falls, and i can't decide if she is disappointed that we aren't fucking or it's my sheer stupidity that is disappointing her.

“And you've failed his class consecutively, made him draw you semi nude and you only ride that devilishly handsome face in your dreams?”

I blink at the weird turn the conversation had taken but nod anyway.

“Oh you poor thing. Don't you worry. We are going to get you on top of his tower before the year ends.”
