Aria’s POV

“If this is the kind of treatment we will be getting every time, then I think you made the right decision, my friend,” Mia says.

We just checked into the suite that Sebastian had booked for me to get ready for the Aurora awards ceremony tonight. I got Mia to come with and help me get ready, of course. She didn’t need much combining though.

The first thing I noticed when we stepped into the suite was how amazing it smells. It literally smells like vanilla and every single good edible you can think of.

I stand in the middle of the room, barefoot on the fur carpet, in a red silk robe, and I stare at my reflection in the mirror. The mirror shows my reflection, the same Aria that I have always known - the same old me, only everything has changed for me. Or everything js even about to change even more than before. My eyes are shining brightly with fear and apprehension.

Tonight is not just any night.

I am not just going there to sip champagne.

Tonight is just an award cerem

  • Her Secret, His Obsession    Chapter 73

Aria’s POV One week later! One week, two million plus followers on Instagram, another million followers on X, over ten thousand direct messages on Instagram, and just as many on X. A blog post stated that scandal loves me, and I actually found it hilarious. Sebastian called the day the news broke and said to ignore them. I did just that, not like I had any other choice. Eventually, the news died down and everyone moved on to the next victim of their scrutiny. I have been assigned an assistant from my management company. An assistant? Me? Honestly didnt think that was even possible. I was always the assistant. Anyway, I will be meeting her today and she is going to help me figure out how to manage my social media accounts and make sure that I take advantage of my online presence. I woke up this morning feeling optimistic and excited. Now that the whole media thing has died down a bit, I can move around freely without worrying about someone taking pictures of me in weird angles.

  • Her Secret, His Obsession    Chapter 72

Aria’s POV I try to ignore it. I try really hard to ignore it. Pretend like it is not there. Like I can’t hear it at all but it’s relentless. I wake up to the sound of my phone vibrating on my bedside table every fucking second. I got home really late yesterday, scratch that, it was already a new day when I got home. I was completely and utterly knackered. I have never stood for that long before, I exhausted my social battery completely. I barely managed to remove my dress and makeup before I jumped in bed. I didn’t even do my nighttime skincare routine and I… My phone starts going off again, disrupting my train of thought and my precious sleep. “Can you just shut the hell up!” I exclaim with a tortured groan. For a second, it feels like it heard my order and actually shut the hell up but then it goes off again. Another buzz, then another, and I finally give up on my sleep. With a defeated groan, I reach out blindly, my eyes tightly shut, and grab my phone from the bedside t

  • Her Secret, His Obsession    Chapter 71

Ronan's POV I let her go. I let her go. She was right here. I had her in my arms, right where I wanted her to be, scratch that, where I need her to be, where she should be and I just let her go. Just like that. I thought I had this whole thing planned out. I was going to talk to her, try to talk to her, try to...I don't know, go back to the way things used to be but then...She was right here. Looking at me with those wide pretty eyes, waiting, expecting me to say something and I just couldn't bring myself to say all the things I had planned to say. So I let her go. Something tells me I will regret that one moment for a very long time. I can hear the applause but I barely register it. It is loud, boisterous but it all feels somewhat distant. Like it's happening in another world entirely and not the same room as I am. My hands are moving too, clapping. On the outside, I look composed, put together, the normal Ronan Trafford. I clap when everyone does, I stand when everyone s

  • Her Secret, His Obsession    Chapter 70

Aria’s POV The bathroom, which was once cool and spacious, now feels hot and overcrowded. The air is thicker and heavier. And it’s just the two of us in here. But maybe that’s exactly where the problem lies. It’s dangerous. I shouldn’t be here, alone, with him. I know that. The logical thing would be to push him away and leave but as usual, my brain turns into mush whenever he is near and I just can’t bring myself to do shit. “Miss Winslow.” He mumbles. His hold on my hand tightens and I force myself to look up and meet his eyes. Those dark, bottomless eyes. His eyes are burning with a mixture of anger, desire, need, and maybe a little bit of hatred. The swirl of emotions in his eyes chokes me. “What do you want from me?” I choke out. “What are you even doing here?” I ask him. His eyes flash. “I got invited.” He answers calmly, his voice smooth. “What are you doing here?” He asks. “With him?” He adds reluctantly, almost as if it pained him to ask but he couldn’t help himself.

  • Her Secret, His Obsession    Chapter 69

Aria’s POV The car slows as the venue comes into view and my heart does the exact opposite. My heart rate is probably through the roof right now. Light spills into the night, illuminating the entire building. I forgot to breathe for a second there. The Grand Hall is glittering, even though the car windows. Ridiculously expensive Crystal chandeliers are visible through the tall glass wall; there are cameras everywhere, and the flashes are blinding. The red carpet is stretched out right outside and the thought of walking down the carpet makes me shudder. This is it. The moment of truth. “This is it,” Sebastian says, voicing my thoughts. He squeezes my hand and draws my attention back to him. He is yet to let go of my hand since earlier and honestly, I am grateful for it. I low-key need the support. “You good? You still want to do this?” He asks. My lips turn up in a half smile. “Do I have the option to butt out of this?” I ask. He smirks. “No, I was just trying to be nice.” I s
