Max's POV

I never found Sammie despite all my efforts so I gave up after a week of searching. I still couldn't dismiss the feeling that Shayna was responsible for Sammie's disappearance but I had no proof so had to keep the thought to myself.

Life went on anyway with no one caring about Sammie's disappearance, even her own father, and I had even less time to myself as the days passed as the preparations for my coronation intensified.

I really didn't mind being kept busy as despite my large circle of acquaintances, I didn't have much of a life aside from being the alpha's son. Being busy also kept me free from Shayna's disturbances, she was way too clingy.

"There have been rumors of an enemy pack wanting to attack us before the coronation", one of the council members brought up during the meeting of the werecouncil where I was presently seated in.
